What a muppet....
-
They also have launch control, gradient assist, throtle blip on down shifts (same as heel toe in a manual) and some other gadgets. Gear change is around 0.085secs between gears. Set SMG mode to 6, sports mode on and DSC off....the gear change is VERY brutal! You won't be disapointed. Fanastic gearbox. I loved mine. The only downside I found, is it is hard to drive the car slowly. Quite jerky changing gears slowly and drivng slow....M3 with SMG loves to be driven like it's been stolen. :-)

LOL I love my Zed too.
-
If I was offered an 05 M3 or an 05 350z. I wouldn't hesitate, I'd take the M3 home.
-
I owned an E46 M3 SMG, sold it to get my 2nd Zed. E46 is quicker, more revy. 350 is better in the bends, more planeted imo. MPG was between 19-21mpg on average (m3), A roads and motorways journey to work. The 350 (MY06) is giving me between 20-22mpg. So not much difference. I'd definately have another E46 M3 that's for sure. Superb car, fast and very practicle.

We were only there Sunday morning about 4 hours, we were on the track from 9-12ish, got 8 laps in, then drove to the swiss alps after lunch LOL. I just checked through my pics, I was sure I took a pic of you on track giving it some, but can't find it :-/

I was there the same weekend you lot were there, saw you a few times, but we were pushed for time so couldn't come over and chat. We were in the rent-racecar white BMW 120. Your car sounded very nice on the ring.

Was that 6 months from when it arrived in the UK? And was that through Bonsai? When I spoke to Gary there having a whinge about how lomng mine was taking he mentioned somebody who had recently put a Type-G through. Yes I used bonsai, and yes mine was the type-G. It took about 4 1/2 weeks to get here on the boat, then sat at southampton for 5 months getting damaged by various SVA centres, the car was passed from pillar to post having various tests done on it! Not Bonsais fault. The delays were all causd by red tape and vosa. If you need any help let me know, I can give you the contacts at the SVA centre, vosa and Nissan JP that I had to deal with. If your car has arrived in the UK. I would seriously consider having it trailored home....then when the tests are required, trailor it to the relevant test centre. I only say this as my car was damaged whilst it was just sat there. It will only get damaged at the SVA centre! If you want more info, drop me a PM I'll be happy to help / answer questions in more detail. On the whole tho, bonsai didn't help the end to end process as there was nothing really they could do (red tape) and they did finance some of the many additional test the car needed to pass which ran into a few k.

It took 6 months for my car to get UK plates due to lack of model report. So good advise above, make sure your import car has a model report.
-
I've swapped my JDM gauge pods for UK ones. Takes about an hour to do and they work great. The clock doesn't work on some peoples swaps, but it works fine on mine, not sure if this is caused by MY03 - My06 differences.

I managed to stuff myself full of donuts and coffee! They were very tasty. :-)

Hi guys, might be able to make this with one other non forum member zed too. -
I bought one band expander, fitted it and it worked fine...you tried 3???? Are u sure u fitted em right? lol
-
Just buy a band expander from ebay, there about £8-12....doesn't matter which you get, there all the same. All you do is plug the ariel into it and run a 12v feed to it...you can do this by cutting into the orange wire on the back of the HU. Takes about an hour to fit as you have to take the console appart to get to the back of the unit. Once done, you can get UK radio stations.
-
The parts dept at your nissan dealership should stock them. Or keep an eye on ebay they do come up now and again.
-
Yep, that was me. I posted on the other forum about it :-) Clock and everything else works fine LOL. Are you sure it's not something simple on yours like just pressing the set time button to get it working?

I can't remember what the forms called, but when the car is in Japan waiting to get on the boat, it gets de-registered by Japan officials. This de-registration document should have all the information you need on there. Usually it's kept with the car, perhaps you could ask the shipping agent to see if they can find it and fax you a copy, make sure it has a TDN number.......Otherwise your in for one hell of a nightmare and long wait! (Mine didn't have a TDN number at it took almost 6months)
-
I reckon someone has fitted MY06 parts to your car, I'm positive it didn't ome out the factory with them on.
-
September 2005 cars in JDM are 99% MY06 facelift models. I know this as I was trying to get around the lack of MY06 model report when I imported mine. Thought about sneaking in a late 05 and putting it through the MY05 report :-)

Excellent, thanks fellas that's put my mind at ease.
