  1. I've had SRAM chains for ages just because of the quick links, thought i'd try something else.
  2. Been searching for a new tv for the lounge, we want something about 32", and full HD would be nice and some network/internet options. Anyone bought similar recently? couple of examples i turned up: Sony internet tv: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDL32CX520BU-Widescreen-Internet-Freeview/dp/B004S9DXZ8/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310560512&sr=1-11 Similar LG: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-32LD490-Widescreen-Internet-Freeview/dp/B0043M669A/ref=sr_1_23?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310560512&sr=1-23 Stretch the budget to a 37" 720p panasonic plasma? http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-32LD490-Widescreen-Internet-Freeview/dp/B0043M669A/ref=sr_1_23?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310560512&sr=1-23 LG 100Hz LED 32" http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-32LE5300-32-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B003HABW02/ref=sr_1_17?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1310560822&sr=1-17
  3. Well, had a ride out last night with Phil and a couple of the lads who are fresh back from the Alps for two weeks. The lucky beggers! We went up Crag Fell as part of a 3 hour ride from Egremont. The drop down from the drop is really steep, and compared to last time I did it in flats, it just wrecked my confidence. Most of the rest of the ride was great, but on the steep downs I'm just not happy clipped in. Flats next time I think, although it was nice to clean the whole climb to the top. In other news, that most unglamorous of upgrades, the drive train, is due some attention. New KMC chain (well past due) and new steel middle ring and granny on the way, along with a new cassette and a park chain gauge, so I don't leave it so long to change the chain next time.
  4. You need an asterisk to make it long enough - oil*

    Isn't it just! Booooo!
  6. I've got a HR, and the needle does go to nearly 2k on cold startup.
  7. Last gig - Scroobious Pip and Dan le Sac in liverpool. Last album(s) - The Naked and Famous, Wolfmother, and the White Stripes (bit late to the party on that one)
  8. I can see where you are going with this, but I don't think it is.
  9. ...brave pills and ear plugs not included.
  10. It was a trade-off of course. Some mega steep uphills were more easily dispatched, but the Road was more tricky. And I couldn't put a foot out on the rough stuff
  11. Thought he had been made redundant or something for a minute!
  12. Yay! time off, and therefore a new big ride! On Sunday me and my best bezzie bike mate Phil decided to take on one of the great Lakes passes for the first time - the Walna Scar Road. The ride starts near Coniston, before heading west and over the hills to the Duddon valley. We stopped at some old slate mine workings for a snack before the big pull up the actual road itself (just visible top right.) Its a chuffing big climb, my front wheel was all over the place. Eventually it kicked up again and we had to dismount. A pause at the top for breath, and then into the unseen descent. And what an epic! we had to stop a couple of times, as the arm pump on one section was absolutely killing us! It really was worth all the effort, even if I had to be a bit more circumspect than Phil, being clipped in on a hardtail. We were having too much fun to take pics on the downhill, but here's some from the web: It'll make an ideal practice ground for that eventual Alps trip!
  13. Nice one Chris, poor show on the pics though!
  14. Great pics! I would imagine at 33mpg aveage, you were easy doing over 400 miles between fill ups?
  15. not got a photobucket or flikr account mate? they're a bit small.
  16. First ride today after 10 solid days and 120 hours at work! Went to Whinlatter to do the Red north and South, nice and gentlly! Wore the clipless pedals too, just for help on the hills, but it didn't turn out too bad. A touch of drizzle on the way round, but otherwise dry. Felt much better for it afterwards. No pics as its my usual route, but here's a wee MTB video to keep you amused:
  17. Normally watch both too, but was at the pub. iplayer here we come...
  18. Oh yeah. Even if handled like a complete lemon, i'd still have it over a 599 GTO.
  19. Lukely, News corp bought the domain thesunonsunday.com a couple of days ago!
  20. Nice wheels those, you won't see many others.
  21. Liverpool Victoria at a guess.
  22. A more subtle front bumper, and much to my surprise, I'm all over that!
