    Non GT

+1 I bought my non-gt new, as I did my reserch before hand and bought the car I wanted, and not for the next man. The whole leather seat lust is totally beyond me, as most leather grades short of full on Nappa are pretty naff IMO. I would say the only deal breaker is if you simply MUST HAVE cruise control. At retail, i certainly wasn't going to part with £2.5K just for that, even if it would have been nice.
  2. Roughly plotted the route on bikehike, came out as 17.83 miles and 2500ft ascent. Who needs a GPS eh? (Not that I ever underestimate things or anything! )
  3. Oh I have an app, but just normally forget to switch it on! Plus it hammers the battery.
  4. Well the 1.9jtdm that i have in the Grande Punto is a GM unit, so i would expect the larger units probably are too you know. If you go to an indie for servicing, the bits aren't too expensive.
  5. Rough calculations for yesterdays ride (just eyeballing the OS map) are approx 15 miles and over 700m (2,300ft) ascent!
  6. Depending on the price point, why get a diesel? The 2 litre (and GTA V6 ) are much nicer to drive. Most recent Alpha I had was a 146, so a bit old.
  7. Very comfortable James Main minus points are that it's no slacker than my on-one, and the seat doesn't drop far enough due to the frame/pivot design. I think the seat post could be trimmed an inch or two and still be ok, but it's a Thomson, so a bit pricey to slice up! It climbs well with all that pivot tech going on though, and never bottoms out harshly even though i'm definatly using all the travel. If anything, it could do with another couple of PSI in the fork and shock.

    Car suits black wheels shock!
  9. Was chatting to Dreadnought today and I mentioned about the possibility of this event being cancelled as well due to low numbers, however they have stated that this event will go ahead whatever, as they require some serious track time for there race cars prior to a championship event at Knockhill on Sat 10th Sept. Am I going to be getting some fire breathing MG's up my chuff on the track then?
  10. Not looking very good for the post hoon evening is it? Maybe a surge this week?
  11. Theres a couple of locals on too now.
  12. Cancelled due to to lack of numbers Pete. So will not be replaced mate. There is a Track Scotland open pit lane this Saturday night This follows on from an afternoon of pro drifting so there should be plenty rubber down. Alex. How many do they need to run?

  17. Nice big ride today, decent early start and a lap of Buttermere and Crummock water, combined with a trail up Honister pass so I could do the monster looking bridleway on the south side of Fleetworth pike. View Larger Map I was a good four hours all in, complete with a tea and cake stop in Buttermere, a good sprinkling of pushing and a few Herdys The big Fleetworth decent indeed proved to be a monster, thankfully i was on an appropriate bike! Really techy in places, but plenty of rewards for good line choice and balls of steel in some sections. Finished with a lovely dip in Crummock to wash the sweat and dirt off, brilliant! Fleetworth Pike from the edge of Buttermere Tunnel run Morning views http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg70 ... 1313595136 Fleetworth, you can just make out the descent route: Only 1 in 4? Pah! I predict.... PAIN! At the top. not. Should be familiar to some Lakez attendees Nearly there: Going down; Not all as smooth as this unfortunately! Cake! Cake thieves! Final stretch
  18. Dannys video also benefited from being made by his usual producer mate too, they knew what they were doing to a T.
  19. Back end twitch/weave sounds like you have a soft tire or puncture, have you checked pressures all round recently?
  20. Naaaa national speed limit. 40 past the camera and for the first and the last third... Middle third can be quicker to average out :-) Hope your thirds are accurate! You know the cameras only record your plate and not your speed right? The first camera sets your entry time, the last sets your exit time, then the distance between is divided with your time, giving your average speed. The speed you passed the cameras at is irrelevant, as the system just works out the length of time you took to travel the distance. HTH
  21. That was a great program! Liked all the videos apart from the flatland bmx one. The tricks were cool, but after the first minute the director had introduced way to much of his own style into it. You could tell he hadn't done a sports film before. Danny boys cable crossing and the beam hopping is ace. It's Ben Howard "The Wolves" on the soundtrack btw
