  1. Yeah, i would say a medium or 17 inch. American bikes tend to be more compact though, but it still varies bike by bike. oldish but unused Spesh Rockhopper comp, cheltenham: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Specialized-Rockhopper-Comp-Pro-/280744878799?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item415db2e2cf#ht_1141wt_1396
  2. Lots of preperation and a good wax and LSP LSP = Lots of Sexual Pleasures??? It's the high protein content that does it.....
  3. Lots of preperation and a good wax and LSP
  4. New bike specs and value for money went seriously downhill after the exchange rate collapsed in what, 2009? Also look at the recently popular Euro brands like Cube, Lapierre, etc. For secondhand, get on Singletrackworld, Pinkbike, and lastly, Ebay. I had a quick shufty, but don't know what size you're after: not much in cardiff on Pinkbike, but several in Bristol: http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/list/?region=5&countryid=193&cityid=392&category=2
  5. I was in the same position, but there's no way I'd risk the Zed on the horrendous 40 mile B road trip to work. Mind you, I didn't exactly buy a shed either, it's a 2007 diesel Grande Punto!
  6. As you all know, an epic bout of decent weather has gripped the country, right in the middle of my 10 off. By my watch, I make that bike o'clock! Route started down in Braithwaite at the bottom of Whinlatter Pass, took in 2 solid hours of climbing, and topped out with a hike-a-bike on to Grizedale Pike (again). This is the first time the Remedy has been up here, so I took it down into Coledale on the challenging loose tracks. After reaching the bottom, I hauled all the way back up Whinlatter pass again, and stopped for tea and cake. I still had time to spare, so did a quick lap of the North Loop and descended down the little secret valley called Seldom Seen, back to Braithwaite and back to the car! A good 4 hour flogging in all, with I-don't-want-to-know-how-many feet of ascent (maybe 3000? ) Piccies! Seldom Seen: Going up! Blood and Sweat not pictured. Looking back to Whinlatter and Keswick Top of the 'Pike Going down?
  7. Not bad, international drug smugglers, quite a sexy case then! Better than drawing some of the proper grim stuff you read about I suppose.
  8. Depends how picky you are about options. The GT pack is all about the resale, and not a great deal about the usefulness or desirability of the options themselves!
  9. Really? Must be a serious case is it? I know you can't say but can you indicate if its a "white collar" crime or something more serious?
  10. If you're after the dilapidated soviet look, may I suggest Pripyat?
  11. I'm still holding out for a 997 someday Anyone need a kidney?
  12. Off work, so I've been caning the bike round all day. It's been magnificent!
  13. Yep, all very familiar Must be nice and quiet this week too.
  14. Yep fine. All plans subject to weather anyway of course! I'd better think of something for Saturday lunch then hey?
  15. A bit big! Anyway, the weekends itinerary! Saturday - Hawkshead / Claife ride. I'm going to say up to 3 hours, as I don't want repercussions when it takes longer than what I think due to chatting/taking pictures etc! Might sound long, but its got less of the tough climbing of that Grizedale ride. Sunday - Either Threlkeld Loop, Keswick, 1.5-2 hours plus food/lunch time OR Andy's Backyard, Dent fell nr. Egremont; 1.5hrs or as long as you want really, followed by tea/cake etc at our house Monday or Nightride options - Threlkeld and Dent both good as night options, also Whinlatter. What do you think then old boy? Crazy nice weather option: Skiddaw!
  16. I've bought it too, it's very addictive.
  17. The offset is a bit different, but as far as I know they should go on.
  18. Exactly why we spashed out on the Joysticks. Not exactly cheap or powerful, especially compared to the Magicshines, but having seen the inside of my Magicshines, I'd trust the Joystick a hell of a lot more. If you are out in the wilderness on your own you need lights you can depend on. If you are in a big group its not such a worry as not all you lights are likely to fail. So I have a Magicshine for power (on the bars) and my Joystick on the head as a spot and also get me home light if the Magicshine dies. They are great lights for the money these cheap copies, but dont use them as your only light source, even if you just carry a decent head tourch if the worse happens. We've had a few failures of Magicshines and I was always happy then to donate mine to whoever had failed and use the Joystick to get home. You might end up somewhere like here:
  19. Good info. It basically comes down to how much the warranty and uk after-sales is worth to you. Magicshine et al are fine as long as you are happy getting busy with the soldering iron now and again! My mate Phil has just ordered on of the new MJ872, so looking forward to seeing that in action.
  20. ...And there's big Sis clipping your ear again!
  21. Bit late now, but this any good? http://www.thetreadshop.co.uk/casearch.aspx?IsSubmit=true&SearchTerm=toyo+t1r&submit=
