  1. Sorted the cable to the garage today as it's a weather day, tool was fine and after printing out the wiring diagram and watching a couple of "University of Youtube" videos it worked first time Just need to decide on a little WIFI router now, any suggestions?

  3. Nice write up Colin. I've previously looked into the costs of the 1to1, so it's good to hear that its money well spent (I hope Colin 2 paid for lunch! ). Maybe something to save up for next year, as I've had the Zed 4 years this August, and it's really some thing I'm looking to continue growing into for the foreseeable future.
  4. Happy birthday Colin! Have a great day, the weather looks good enough for a birthday drive out eh?
  5. A salient point is that american cops are still encouraged to use their own discretion on stops, I bet he would have gained 3 points over here.
  6. Threw a couple of quid in the bucket Carla, I see Paul's getting the excuses in early!
  7. When the weather is this good you need to start digging into the Big Ticks bag and pull out something special to do. With that in mind I decided it was time to tackle Nan Bield Pass. It's supposed to be one of the best single rides in the Lakes, the only slight problem being that it's quite remote and you need to do at least one other pass to get to it. In the end I did three! Gatesgarth, Nan Bield, and Kentmare just for the laugh (you might as well as its the smallest and only a smallish diversion on the return loop). The stats: 26 miles, 6 and a half hours (of which at least 2.5 was pushing/carrying), and five and a half thousand bloomin feet of ascent I must say that it was absolutely superb! The decent from Nan Bield goes on for ever and it really is something special. Having said that the Gatesgarth and Kentmare decents are cracking too, so the whole ride is a big singletrack overdose. Pics? of course! Near Kentmare on the way out Green Quarter descent into Sleddale, Gatesgarth climb in the distance Thats only half of it! Looking back down the top half The top of Gatesgarth, and the itimidating descent Haweswater Onwards to Nan Bield Small Water and the impeding carry Top of Nan Bield, phew! Five mins later, looking back Nearing number three It's a tiddler! Comparatively. No pics from the rest of Garburn, I was too knackered! Lovely little decent near the end though
  8. The BBC interviewed a couple in our running club the other day, they are celebrating their golden wedding by running the London marathon. I hope I'm half as fit at their age! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-17534491
  9. Its fine up here, it's all you crazy southerners
  10. All this made me think; how are Blockbuster still trading? I don't know about you, but I can't even remember the last time I heard of anyone going in one.
  11. The new version two is dead easy, loads of mounting options and better picture than any other sports cam. You pay for it mind!
  12. Not the posh kind. Go back to bed.
  13. First internal shot is attached on the back window, the last one on the front windscreen by the rear view mirror. Shame the scenery is over exposed on the first one.
  14. its the motorsport hero suction mount, as long as you have a clean smooth surface and a damp sucker, it won't fall off! (hopefully!)
  15. It's a mk4 golf in drag. power to weight of a belfast sink, and consequent mpg. Tell her to get an early maxi Mini if she likes retro styled stuff.
  16. Are they? Great! I'm not used to buying cheap tools obviously...
  17. Is this the right one?
  18. I'm looking to borrow an RJ45 crimping tool to terminate a cable I ran in to my garage. I will of course pay for all postage to and from.
  19. I suspect you will find the difference between lockout and active will be pretty minimal.
  20. Any big manufacturers bike at that level is pretty good these days. However the suspension forks are very basic and if you aren't doing any rough stuff I would consider getting a fully rigid bike and save yourself about 2Kgs weight. Or maybe even a cyclocross bike? I hired a Scott scale last year, and apart from the fork it was a really decent bike. £650 http://www.rutlandcycling.com/39765/Scott-Scale-80-2012---Hardtail-Mountain-Bike.html?referrer=froogle1%3futm_source%3dgoogle&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=pid39765l
