  1. Park Tools is the daddy. They do full kits if you can afford them! (from about £260 to £1k!) I just buy the actual specialist bits I need though, which isn't a lot on modern bikes where everything is on cartridge bearings. Obviously for general tools like screwdrivers, sockets, and stuff, just buy good regular brands. Top 10 most useful Park tools IMO: Hollowtech 2 BB tool. Chain whip Cassette removal tool Round cable cutters Repair stand (next on my list!) DH spec tire levers Chain breaker Pedal spanner chain gauge Park Tools Mug Along with: Brake bleed kit (Home made in my case) Headset drift and press Good 1/4" socket set with allen and Torx heads + 1/4" torque wrench Set of adjustable spanners.
  2. Good timing for this then James: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Tech-Tuesday-Three-Ways-to-Save-A-Leaky-Tubeless-Tire-2012.html -same methods in the main. I have a similar slice in one of mine, just glue a bit of old tyre or DH tube behind it and it'll last for ages. For super security you can stitch the tear like a hole in your pants too!
  3. HR engines have iridium plugs fitted as standard mate The plugs are also slightly smaller than the DE ones. I wrote guide for the change a while back (in the guides section).
  4. Recognise any of these? And Dom has another gunmetal (i think) with the chargespeed front. If you want to sort a mini meet out, just say.
  5. Your PC has converted them back to .WAV for the CD then, cos dat dere Bose don't play no Em Pee Frees!
  6. Washers and a self levelling system are a legal requirement for Xenon headlights. The new MOT rules were going to stipulate that the associated parts of the xenons must be present and working for the MOT. Obviously it'll depend on how generous/friendly you are with the tester.
  7. Surprised how well the bronze wheels go with the white Very nice.
  8. Not that far from the local club mafia though... There's me, Cowie, richieB, and Agentsmith just in the local area. We've got a couple of mods between us if you need to see/hear anything.
  9. Dont think its a requirement Was it not part of those new MOT rules? I
  10. So thats what the V2 looks like on mine! Wont you need to put the headlight washers back in for the MOT?
  11. Compared to Rockshox its a walk in the park.
  12. It must be a small frame to fit in that well, I had to drop the forks out of my hardtail to get it in.
  13. Excellent Daz, bit worried about the suppliers quality control though!
  14. James, the Fox line-up goes R, RL, then RLC. They stand for Rebound damping adjustment, Lockout, and (low speed)Compression damping adjustment. Mine is currently a TALAS (adjustable travel) RL, lockout is of little use on a decent fork, but the compression damping adjustment is very useful to have on a bike that does a bit of everything. If I had bought them new, i would have gone for the regular Float RLC. There is also RC2 which gives you seperate high and low speed compression adjustment! The compression adjustment is very handy on more normal riding and trails as it allows you to run a lowish, more supple air pressure in the forks without them blowing through the travel when you pump the trail or brake. Can't remember if I've mentioned it before, but Fox are supposed to be going over to 34mm stanchions for all the basic trail forks soon, as are currently seen on the 29er forks.
  15. Oooh, is that the new one with the revised hose routing? I'd like one but I'm waiting for a while as there's too many glitches about across all makes. Crank Brothers have junked the Joplin for a clean-sheet design - so you know that must have been a dead end. On my 36s, I'm getting the FiT damper and RLC upgrade, you can get Kashima sliders as an upgrade too, but they are major dollars and require scrupulous maintenance. I'm looking forward to compression damping adjustment, as the forks are so plush they can be a bit dive-y under braking.
  16. No full sus riding for me this holiday It's missing the "sus" bits at the minute... Mainly because it's service time, and my Fox 36s have gone off to Mojo for some TLC and a wee upgrade Hopefully should get them back in a week or so...
  17. She looks like she's eaten one. As its the Mail, you always have to suspect an ulterior motive, but you know people like this exist so it's probably a bit of both. Back on topic: Intelligent, curvy, foody, and accepting of poor financial management re: cars/bikes
