  1. Wouldn't bother getting both, you could get a "new" secondhand one for that. Like Cy Turners in fact: http://www.cotic.co.uk/news/
  2. Yeah, didn't get many clear days though, and one of those we were in Geneva!
  3. We're baaaaack! Weather was a bit of a mixed bag, but among the mud we got some decent rides in. Shame the PDS was a washout in the afternoon after the apparently previous red hot week. Still sorting out pics etc, but here's a couple to be on with:
  4. (I won't mention the forecast for sunday isn't that great, but at least we'll be there!)
  5. Good effort Christopher, and now hear this: Only one more day at work, and then it's the Alps mofo! Yeehaw!
  6. Sad to be missing this, but hols beckon! Hope you all have a great time and I'll catch you next year no doubt.
  7. Something for the southerners, seems the Queen Liz country park on the south downs has been upgrading:
  8. Ha! You'll look a right nancy when I dont buy one
  9. I'll let you take the gamble mate, especially when ones twice the price are a bit fail-y! Ordering some brake pads today, sadly Shimano have changed the shape of the new ones on Frans bike. I was hoping they'd be the same as mine.
  10. Hi mate, west coaster here, there's a couple of us from the Egremont-Maryport area. I've been known to organise the odd meet, so keep 'em peeled
  11. Does it matter? No one notices car alarms anyway.
  12. Ours is the 4x4 Will, the worlds cutest off road shredder We would certainly consider the new one if you can get the twinair in it.
  13. Well, it's fitted! 1.5 degrees slacker. Think you can defiantly tell it's raked out a touch more. Installation wasn't too bad, as long as you get the adjustment cup bang on with the bikes centerline. Don't take this as gospel, but it used to read 68(ish) Adjustment cup in the bottom for tapered head tubes: Top gimbal and cup, notice the extra stack hight from the cups. Hmm, needs a clean too!
  14. To the untrained eye it certainly doesn't look like 190 quids worth, unless you know how expensive machining time is. They certainly are proper engineering though, two gimbals perfectly matched into its cup. You get three options; 0.5, 1, or 1.5 degrees, so plenty of options. I would have probably started with the 1 degree cup, but as It's going to be pointed downhill an awful lot in the next two weeks, I figure I might as well bang the 1.5 in there and see how we get on. A couple of test rides lined up at the end of the week, so we shall see...

Congrats Al, looks like a great day
  16. Jesus titty christ..... Shocking.
  17. Well it's the only thing about the bike I would change as I wrongly thought it would be the same as the current one. I'm wondering how many beers you can get away with on the PDS and still ride competently...
  18. Pre-Alps spending getting out of hand! Still, Cane Creek Angleset on the way.... Should get it nicely to (or over) the current model spec.
  19. I already knew what you'd done before I opened the thread Have done similar myself once, made sure I had plenty of dust sheets about though.
  20. I think it's one of Greekmans mates.
  21. Its all riding Graham! Couple of extra pics from the Grayhound from my mate James: Looking tired :
  22. Nope, although half of it is quite cheeky. There was a couple of really good riders in that lot. I might be tempted to go and give it a bash some time, defo taking the armour though! I completed the Greyhound challenge yesterday! A Big ass day out, 45 riders set out on a 75km epic clean across the Lake District, I crossed the line after 8 hours and 5 minutes. Didn't take many pics as I was too busy sweating! The first 8 miles across the aptly named Wet Sleddale took us 2 hours alone We stormed some great passes, and did some new descents that I hadn't done, so a top day out all in. Jimbos new On-one 29er Inbred: Wet Sleddale: Mikes Bridge: Rest stop on Sadgill: Looking over Windermere: Climbing Grizedale:
