  1. Does baking count? The kitchen is the new garage you know
  2. The train is booked, so there's no turning back now! On the 2nd of August I'm off to John o'Groats to start cycling my end-to-end. Probably over 1000 miles, I'm going down the east of the Pennines and hopefully seeing a few of you on the way - especially at Wassos Midlands meet on the 11th. The bike is nearly sorted, a Specialized Tricross, just a few details left to sort out. Intinery for the first two thirds is basically JOG - Inverness - Braemar - Dundee - E'burgh/Galashields - Durham - Leeds - Peaks - Birmingham+day off! - TBA! This is definalty one of those bucket-list trips, it's basically unsupported, I'm mixing up camping with stays at friends houses and maybe a couple of b&bs if necessary. If anyone else has done similar, share you tips here! T-minus 2 weeks and counting...
  3. Alps finished the Treks bearings off too, fixing in progress but will probably be on the HT for the rest of the month. Then the road bike...
  4. A ride round Eskdale with Phils spangly new, offensively coloured Orange 5.
  5. That would be fine but would mean I won't get a shot of him with Saffy before she goes Ok, PM me your address and I pop him in the post
  6. Yes Chris, you soon learn!
  7. Vik, if you can wait 3 weeks, I can deliver him by hand!
  8. Err, me too. Collinite 915. Lasts a long time and very reasonably priced. If you're man enough to buff it off!
  9. To get the "anti-theft" grub screw tight enough to work would knacker the valve threads anyway. I would only bother putting them on for shows etc.
  10. We just let the yard go wild up here It's the very definition of "low maintenance". They came out in 2005, the shapes ageing well I think. My £40 alloys set it off nicely! Graham, it's a GM (astra etc) dag-dag in this oddly enough, bit heavy though.
  11. While still damp in the rest of the country, we've had 4 days really nice weather here. So, after about 2 months since the last wash, including a hot and buggy 1100 miles across France and back, it was probably time for El Puntos birthday! Gave it a fairly full treatment, after washing: De-tarred (of which there was a lot) Autoglym tar remover, but may stop using this as it's not that quick. Bilt Hamber clay Carlack 68 sealant Collinite 915 hard wax. Even buffed up the tailpipe trim with some Peek. Wasn't going to write this up, but it looked so good afterwards i decided to take a couple of pics: Back to normal weather again today:
  12. Better with sound hey? I think you might recognise it from somewhere... Lovely day today, so got the Tricross out for a proper maiden ride to Whitehaven and back through St. Bees and the 'rents house.
  13. I think SN is probably one of the best of both worlds for reasonable money. Easy on, but lasts well.
  14. No sound??? You're missing the best bit then!
  15. And BOOM! here it is: We could do with some more Gnar for next years edit Chris, I've put you down for the Chatel pro line.... (some better weather would help too)
  16. Hehe, sorry Brum Ian, I was talking to Marra Ian! But yes, I'm still on for heading down your way august 10th (ish!). I'll have to give Richie a PM and see if he's about.
  17. Yeah, will do! I need to get my works laptop out, as thats where the full collection is. Only got 50Kbps upload though, so it'll take a while! I've never been to south wales on the bike, supposed to be good doing Skyline/Whites Level. RE: the Safire, rather a lot of overlap between that and the existing bike isn't there?
  18. Well if Chris is looking after Zedleys pics in the Alps, I'll start off with His day offshore! Over to Zedley: Oh hell, not more heights! Andrew showed me the inside of the hub. It was a bit spacey! I started feeling a bit claustrophobic down inside the shaft though. Time for some fresh air I think! That was quite nice, so I decided to get a bit windswept and check out the views: Just chillin! Andrew also showed me some of the top-flight facilities available to wind turbine technicians: Lovely!
  19. Fecking. Hell. Can't belive some people. Anyways, looking good now Ian, meet up soon perhaps?
