Nice pics Christopher
A weekend of contrasts for me. Lovely day at GT on saturday, great weather and trails, so shame the new cafe in the cash-cow Forestry Commission visitors center is a bit crap. Nice surroundings of course, but the food smacks of profiteering.
Today - the Jennings Rivers Ride, rivers being the appropriate word! Really poor conditions from the outset, we managed to get to the 55 mile point but after coming down Whinlatter pass, the option to just pack it in and get back to Keswick was too much to resist. Carrying on would mean another 2-3hours freezing our asses off climbing Newlands and Honister passes, and the incessant rain and wind would mean near zero temperatures at the top.
Physically I was feeling fine, but just not enjoying it. Maybe next year then!
