  1. Might bring the wetsuit then! The water/air temps in the lake are probably about 5*C/1*C at the minute, up at Durness that time, it was more like 14*C/5*C. Much warmer
  2. Finally got some at home today! Popped down the road to Ennerdale to get some pics: Please please please no work tomorrow
  3. Nothing low down here, so had to go and get some! Not a lot of people know there's a ski tow in the lakes, hardly surprising, when its an over an hours walk from the nearest road! Helvellyn summit
  4. I still find Maplins useful for hard to find electronic stuff. Recently bought an external USB dock for browsing my old IDE hard drives.
  5. Now go and watch "Office Space", and a few Dilbert cartoons, it would fit right in. Brilliant.
  6. Somebodys wax is doing a good job there Keyser
  7. If you're looking at cars closing in on 100k, i'd be wanting a decent history file with evidence of attention to bushes/drop links etc. Possibly a clutch change too, although with sympathetic driving there's no reason it can't exceed 100k miles.
  8. Updates people, I need updates! Chuff all here, our forecasts have backed off a bit since Wednesday
  9. Didn't Clinton's go bust last summer LMGTFY: http://www.worksopguardian.co.uk/news/local-news/clinton-cards-in-worksop-saved-from-closure-after-company-buy-out-1-4624095 US buy-out.
  10. So who's going to make a prediction for who's next? I can't think of anything else as blindingly obvious as Blockbuster, there's no big names left on my local high street.... ...apart from WHSmiths...
  11. And thats the balancing act that HMRC/government is doing atm. If you tell them all to pay the tax "as is right" then you run the risk they will pack up shop and go elsewhere. Its better to have some tax monies than none at the end of the day. But in reality for these MNC's they can easily pay the money, its just whether or not the profits they then get would be worth the hassle. I genuinely find it very interesting to hear other peoples opinions on the matter. I agree that the system should treat everyone equally/fairly but its very hard to define as everyone has a different opinion of equal and fair. I always like the analogies that Mr Chesterfield has for tax. I find it supremely ironic that in the press and TV ministers are pretending to kick up a fuss about all this offshore tax, when behind the scenes, this and the previous Labour administration have been actively promoting the UK and the City as an international tax haven administration centre for over a decade!
  12. I KNEW I'd said that somewhere - I thought it was on Faceache or something Just call me Mystic Zed... I've been thinking the past couple of days about a local town that had a big revamp 5 years ago, a big pedestrian shopping zone, with big fanfare for HMV and Debenhams as the big names. I thought at the time it looked like a very short-sighted waste of money. The high street is on it's way out, no doubt about it. But is anyone going to miss it for the most part? I doubt it.
  13. Looks well dodgy. Thats the problem with online poker, it's so easy to have an inside man or rig it somehow.
  14. No reason to get an import if you've got 8k going spare!

Might be worth a punt Jay - you can be forum test pilot  They are my default brand for MTB, and they certainly know what they are doing there.
  16. Looks nice I think, shame to put a plate on the front really.
  17. Thought this was a bit too good to just leave in the bike thread! There are still places to have a guided and coached day on the actual course before Essex council change it for general public use. http://http://www.essexlegacy.org/olympic-venues/hadleigh-farm/can-i-ride-the-mountain-bike-course/
  18. Personally I won't be happy with less than a foot, or better yet, another 2010 winter, but since this isn't Canada I'm not hopeful! *le sigh*
