    A wee update, the shop had done the door and it looked good... until they took it outside. He wasn't happy with it as he said he could see a "shadow" were the work had been done. So looks like its going to take a couple more days Fingers crossed for next week!

    Had a go, but my camera only goes down to f2.8 anyway, so the effect isn't very pronounced. Putting the macro mode on helped a little bit though. Some quick and dirty practices after cleaning the Zed from its week away:

    +1 thats exactly what it looks like Maybe, but as you can see in the first pic there is a smaller secondary dent where it has bounced over the door. Right on the crease line too!

    I've got a Canon A590 which has options for manual control, and i was wondering how you get the effect where you have the center of the shot (usually fairly close up) in focus and the rest blurry. It is possible on my camera?

    No, they must be desensitised after seeing yours so much! Had a few comment's while we were in Hereford, mostly from school kids!

    Had a small detour through the lesser known village of Cark on the way home yesterday, most inconvieniently, someone wasn't in! So we had a wee refeshment break over the road.
