Any rattling is normally just the clutch (worse if you've got a lighter flywheel) or the exhaust. Mine sometimes sounds a bit like a bag of spanners idling, but has done since new.

Only good thing about the countryman is the fact it's going rallying. As ambivalent as I am towards the Bini lineup, I don't actually hate the countryman

I've spent my first 6 months pay already in my head, And I haven't even seen the contract details yet. Supercharged MR2 very nice - but teens MPG? err, no.

Correct! Still waiting for details to land, but have been made an offer. Initial training will probably be in Germany and Belgium while the farm is still being built. But eventually it'll all settle down and i'll be left with a one hour commute to Barrow! At least i'll look forward to going to work again, and thats the main thing isn't it?

Yeah, I would have definatly bagged and toweled that back end up though, especially as it'll be filthy later. The main advantage I found with dropping the forks out is that it all sits snugly inside the boot area, and with the luggage net on, doesn't slide anywhere. Especially useful for engaging with those fine Scottish A-roads on the way.

Well unlike an Audi TT, there's no roof rack option, so beyond the odd custom tail rack thing, there's not really any solutions that recommend themselves. I normally just use another vehicle. (Go Panda! )

Honestly Chris, Fives outnumbered every other bike by two to one! Nice wheels Chris, everyone will hear you coming now! I've been off to Glentress with the boys today - only problem is that Fran took the Panda to leeds for the day. So what to do? Bikes don't fit in a 350Z do they..... Some assembly required : All fits in though, bike, tool box, track pump, helmet and gear. Quite suprised myself! The main problem was having to drop the forks out of the head tube, but as it was a 6.00am start for a full day of trails, I didn't mind too much. It all fits! Rear view still available: On the trails: And confirming the Zeds bike van credentials, some mild off-roading! There is one other benefit of taking the Zed of course; making the most of some great driving roads in the area too, the day couldn't get any better than taking the A702 via Biggar on the way out, and the brilliantly West Highland-esque A708 on the way back. A must-do if you are ever in the area. Sorry about the ropey cameraphone pics! It was mostly quite dark too.

If you just want office stuff and web, it just comes down to whether you are happy to pay the "apple tax" for the design, as an equivlent spec windows laptop or pc would be much cheaper. No real gaming on a Mac, and you only get one mouse button
