  1. I try not to post anything on Pistonheads, you just get drowned out by the masses. (and I don't have a 370Z, I was just annoyed by his various apples-to-oranges comparisons)
  2. oh, and forgot this: I hate it when people compare new with used! Doubt you would find many new equivalent Porches (Cayman?) for £35K. No idea what new TVR's used to cost, but then you have to keep them on the road too.....
  3. Fast reply mate! Monitoring the forum tonight? I thought it was all dirty nappies/potty training/feeding 24/7 now?
  4. Thanks a lot mate, maybe I should have posted this in 240Z general. 'scuse the poor pic, no flash on the old phone:
  5. First off, probably best to read the weeks end-of-term report from the 370Z competitions winner: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=920495&mid=0&i=0&nmt=RE:%20PH%20370Z%20Breathes%20Fresh%20Northern%20Air&mid=0 Now then, its hard to come at this without sounding like some whinging fanboy, but I felt the OP/comp winner is perhaps a bit of a wet lettuce! While I appreciate there is a fair bit of cabin noise in the Zed, it's not that bad is it? I mean, I'm coming up the car scale to the Zed, I've never had any work supplied Bimmers or Mercs, so have no idea about cars you can hear a pin drop in. I mean, it is a sports car right? Surely some noise is expected? Next, this: Errr, no? Either I've got some weird mates and co-workers but I've had none of that. As far as I know round here, people don't associate Nissan with rubbishy old plastic tat anymore. More: Assuming the 370Z isn't too dissimilar from my 313, I'm not sure what he means here. Possibly not used to the linear power delivery? I know the sound of the engine as stock doesn't exactly encourage you to extend it at the top end, but I certainly wouldn't say it was sluggish lower down. Discuss!
  6. Not much warming about Chris I'm off back down to Wales to Llandegla at the weekend with a bigish group, so i'll try and get some decent pics and video for that.
  7. A beautiful day here in Cumbria, Fran was busy studying, so I took myself off to do the Garburn Pass beyond Windermere. It's supposed to be something of a lakes classic, which i've found out usually means rough, rocky, wet and busy! Turned out to be pretty accurate for this loop too. The climb from Kentmare in particular is like trying to ride up a 1 in 3 shale beach! You can pretty much see the loop on this map, I started at Ings just off the bottom and headed up the right hand side of the obvious bridalway loop to Kentmare. then up over the pass and back down the left hand side. http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=51.179024688899524~-1.82747483253479&lvl=14&sty=s&eo=1&where1=Stonehenge,%20United%20Kingdom#JnE9LmluZ3MlMmMrY3VtYnJpYSU3ZXNzdC4wJTdlcGcuMSZiYj02MS4xMDA5MDg5NTg0Mzg1JTdlLTEzMC44ODU4NDQ3NTIxOTIlN2U2MS4wMzIzOTQwNzg3MDM0JTdlLTEzMS4xMTQxNTQzODM1NA== Total time was less than 1.5 hours i think, so I headed home via Keswick and did the Blue and Red South at Whinlatter to finish the day off nicely. Starting up the Garburn Pass. Much steeper than it looks! And with a horrible rock-marble texture. Needless to say, there was much pushing. Looking over at part of the sweet descent into Kentmare:
  8. 300bhp+ I would say, same setup as the supercharged Atom
  9. Top pics! Glad you went out and about rather than just staying in Cancun, it's like when people got to Sharm el Sheik and think they've been to Egypt!
  10. Probably Masarati or bust for me i think. I couldn't have something german for that money. (well, apart from a porsche!)
  11. AK350Z

    dented hanzo!

+1 ....... its always worth a go It's up to you to claim the Council were negligent in not repairing the hole. And as the wheel is probably cast alloy, then no, it's not repairable.
  12. Nice write up mate, very entertaining! Quick Q: Where is the Summit bracing applied on the car? I assume we are not talking about a replacement strut brace.
  13. Happy Birthday Lucy from me and Fran!
  14. Always fancied one of these as a project. Would be a great alternative to the usual 7s etc.
  15. Wasn't me! (even though i'm another Andy )
  16. those skirts aren't standard are they? Best colour though!
  17. i'll go for the orange then Stan. Fran will be most bemused!
  18. Think maybe yellow Stan, what do you think? It'll be sitting next to my existing toy:
  19. Don't worry Colin, I'll be looking more to the smaller end of the market initially! Maybe a Panda 100hp eventually though
  20. My nearest costco is probably the same one as Stans! Seriously mate, get me one, and i'll paypal you a tenner or something.
  21. Would work well as a "stage 2" car Stan (apart from my right foot) but too expensive at the min. Plenty of room for bikes too! Hopefully i'll be able to save a few quid up while i'm doing the training, so i wont have to start commuting just yet. Oh, and some aren't that unassuming, but i wouldn't say no : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2134974.htm Local too.....
  22. Get me one of them Stan - I'll send you the money!
