  1. I did 440 miles once going from Newquay to west Cumbria. Was running on fumes though I think.
  2. It does. Great vid, makes me proud to be a simple carbon-based lifeform!
  3. Never had Sky, as years ago I though my mate paying £40 a month was way too bad, but didn't realise you could go that high! Do you get a personally signed Christmas card from Mr. Murdoch?
  4. Well done Immy, great result oh, and:
  5. You had better do Martin especially with a young blond lass driving it It needs a good detail Dave, only trying to help her out. Why, are you going to give her Tims number?
  6. Surely the numbers of people going to see games only because they can't watch it on the TV must be pretty small, or at least a very small fraction of all football TV viewers? Are these handfuls of viewers really making a difference to gate revenues? Don't the clubs make money from the punters either way? I don't suppose anyone has done any research on it. Gate prices and travel costs are significant factors for Prem fans these days, I would have thought that would have a much larger effect on any falling gates.
  7. Same one that was for sale at your local nissan dealer?
  8. Lol, a channel island Zed meet. You certainly won't have to drive far for that. Do you take them to the continent much? I can't imagine there's enough room to stretch the legs otherwise.
  9. Lol, obviously everyone thinks their own shade is best. If I had been buying a year earlier, it would have been a chilli anyway! Rosso FTW!
  10. Sweet! Nice kit that, very well executed.
  11. Enjoyed it, not overplayed, just a good fun episode.
  12. Couple on there i wouldnt mind if i had the space and inclination. Fortunately for Fran I don't!
  13. Best colour of course Let me guess, it was a bit nippy?

    New Micra

A lot of mainstream car design seems to be taking a nosedive recently. The new Focus and Yaris both look horrible.

    New Micra

Now, I have a soft spot for Micras. They got me through the first few years of my driving life despite being mercilessly thrashed my my teenage self. So i'm relieved to see that the new one has finally been allowed to cast off that god-awful frog eye look that it has been afflicted with for so many years. Hurrah! However on the downside, the make over has been somewhat short of driver focus, and there's no chance of Nissan trying to capture any more market share than just keeping grannies happy. Shame, it's still no Fiesta/Swift. And while the old one did look pretty poor most of the time (i think they made it less bad in later years), there was of course one version that would have been more than welcome in my garage:
  16. http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/254203/fiat_500_twinair_review.html With 107ft/lbs it looks like just the ticket for my random-as-hell commute actually. I wouldn't be noticing any motorway drone, too many corners for that! oh, and three power levels due eventually, 64bhp, 84bhp and a 104bhp variant
  17. Welcome to the club, just take it easy till the summer and have fun.
  18. 2cyl twinair is supposed to be the original reborn. Short gear thrash machine, so maybe not for the motorway but free tax and 60mpg allegedly. I would consider one if I was just razzing round town. As a two Fiat family now, I can't say I've had any real trouble yet, Punto is still a newcommer and due its 72K service soon, and El Pandro has had a leaking damper replaced last year at service.
  19. Couln't disagree more. Maybe it's deff where you are but the cinema costs a wallet busting £11 a ticket where I am (£1 more for 3D). My 50" plasma cost £700. By that maths going to the cinema 28 times would be the same as buying a kick ass TV that will last you years. I don't bother with the cinema now unless its a very visual film like Avatar. £5.50 at my local cinema, plus an extra pound for 3d. As I only go once every two months max, it's not the same for me as coughing up a lump sum for a big telly. I rarely feel the need to watch a film more than once or twice anyway.

  21. Yeah, i agree with the above points. I certainly don't watch enough tv or films to justify buying a load of HD gear, I might get a new TV this year sometime (still on my 28" CRT) and an upscaling DVD player will be fine for me. Any films I watch these days come via the internet anyway. If there's a film I'm dying to see, I'll go to the cinema to see it anyway, a lot cheaper than turning my front room in to a cinema.
  22. Yeah, but you can get HD downloads anyway now, it's just a case of having the right gear to play back. I remember laughing at a mate who had a garden shed full of VHS, and them bought most of them again on DVD!
