  1. Looking good so far mate. Better than mine anyway!
  2. Nice one Chris, great to see you back in a Zed I was always impressed by a man who made his own paddle shift!
  3. Really I like the sound of that! Greekman probably has no cats and 3" pipes straight through though!
  4. Haven't got a kit for my Hopes yet, this is the first attention they've needed since new 3 years ago! Plus it was only £15, so I hardly feel robbed. It's like the feeling I got returning the hire bike the other day, it was worth a fiver just to have someone else clean it
  5. +1 really enjoyed the Orm when we did it on the wales trip the other year.
  6. Dont wait for Nissan to make a paint, they never did for Rosso Red!
  7. Picked up the trusty steed from KMB today after getting the rear brake bled and went to Whinlatter for some more exercise! Just the North Loop and the bottom half of the South Loop. Weather was a bit damp, but not that cold.
  8. I wouldn't be supprised if you've been spotted before now mate. Not many yellow 370s about.
  9. Very familiar here too I think Fiats original target lookalike was something likea 3200/4200: Shades of DB9 also help too Best looking supermini of the time easy.
  10. None of these can be found within a 2 hours drive of my house (probably - i havent looked or anything) Come to that, BK is an hour away, but I can't say it affects me too much!
  11. There's a CD player? Strangely enough, I've never had a problem with the non-bose standard system. The engine and exhaust noises are better though.
  12. Quite possibly mate, I didn't look too closely at it. I just thought it was some crazy cost saving thing!
  13. What to do when a good day presents itself, and you realise that your bike is in bits and your rear brake is kaput? You go get a hire bike for the day! To be honest i was expecting Biketreks in Ambleside to have something a bit better in, but this is the off-season, so all they had was a couple of boggo £400+ hardails to choose from. So ladies and gentlemen, I give you; the Scott Aspect 40! You know what? It was ok! Evidently the hire buisness is a bit slack off season, so this was brand new. The spec, er, "highlights" included cable disks, 3x8 speed shimano basic Acera transmission, and round wheels... Strangely, the disks were riveted on to the hubs, first time I've ever seen that: So I set off on the classic Loughrigg and Iron Keld loop from Ambleside, Chris I and Amanda will know it well . The weather brightened up, and the bike was going well. Very well infact. One of the only "problems" during the day was that walkers just did not hear me coming up behind them. Despite the apparently basic transmission, the bike was virtually silent! No cable banging, no clicking transmission, nothing. Good job it came with a bell! Halfway point refreshment Out on the trail, I certainly didn't feel like I was slumming it for the day, the modern graphics (with added anti-rub tape) and co-ordinated forks look the part, even if the Suntour forks are very basic, and effectively make the bike into a fully rigid with a couple of centimetres of bump adsorption at the front. In fact, loose the straight-outta-school reflectors and I doubt any average joe wouldn't belive you didn't payed twice as much for it. Sure, the tires were more on-road zip than cross country grip, and the head angle is a bit steeper than what I'm used to, but that's good, as it stops you taking liberties that could get you into trouble. With the addition of my clipless pedals to give it (and me) some much needed climbing ability I had a great laugh, and spent a beautiful day in the hills with some good weather. All for paying £20 hire and some diesel. Priceless is the term I think. Just goes to show how much things have moved on in mountain biking in the last 10 years, this Scott would wee over anything I had at that time. It really hammered home that you don't need to spend 5 grand on a bike to have fun. Just get out and ride. If anyone wanted to get a bike for their kid, or were starting out, I would definitely recommend it. upgrade it later with some decent second hand forks and better tyres and you'd be sorted.
  14. Very few cars were sold after august 08 due to a combination of the credit crunch and the impending sale of the 370Z. So cars are thin on the ground, and in 2009 they were basically just selling odd ones and existing stock, and the fact that the majority of cars are coupes anyway.
  15. Same as the coupe mate, just with a soft top. By post face lift do you mean 07+ 313 Cars?
  16. Bit too much bike for me mate. Don't know if many other people read this thread except me and Chris!

    Uh oh!

You need to have one last hurrah then. Like Wales for example!
  18. Now you've got it, whats the job? You're still at JLR I take it?
  19. Yeah, it was featured in Evo's depreciation busters feature this month, so should be a good deal to run for a few years. I think the propensity to spin on the limit is exacerbated by the lack of steering lock, 5 point turns all the way I hear. We swapped cars for a while on the Hartside trip. He was interested in a Zed at one point, but I think the fact I had one already put him off. Anyway, hopefully if we do a drive out somewhere I'll get to have a spin (not literally!) and see what all the fuss is about. I will defiantly take him to one side at some point and teach him the benefits of clay barring!
  20. Called round my friend Phils house on sunday for a bike ride and he informs me he's chopping his R27 Clio in for a phase 2 V6 model. We had a good run out to hartside last year with his current car and i posted some pics up on here: http://350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=35237&p=525853&hilit=hartside#p525853 As Far as I know, hes going for it either this friday or the weekend, and if the weather's nice we might revisit the area for a new car "familiarisation" session I think it's this one from pistonheads, but the alloys and air scoops are being put back to original silver: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2413685.htm Also has the apparently sought after Recaros. We both know its not the fastest or best handling thing on four wheels, but they do have that crazy thing going about them, like some sort of homologation special that never actually raced. To be continued...
  21. Nice one mate, I'm away up in Scotland for my 10 days on with work for that whole bank holiday sequence - all 4 of them! Fran will be at home, but unless there is a typhoon or something I don't think I will be
  22. Well, its been a while. Being shunted around training and Germany means I've been unable to get on the bike since before Christmas. As such, i went on a wee local ride with my mate yesterday, and was horrified to discover i now have the fitness of a piece of wet string! No pics of that I'm afraid, too wet and muddy, but have a couple from today's walk up Skiddaw that I did while waiting for the Punto to be serviced. (cost a fortune, thanks for asking! ) Only man on the mountain. Well it was 9am! Wind and spindrift in the face on the summit!
