  1. Might as well keep it for the summer now mate Still a fine looking car though.

    Hydrogen

You'll be fine Ricey, just need to scale up one of these:

    Hydrogen

And the main way of making hydrogen at the minute? Fossil fuels! Natural gas to be precise, so the Oilies are already in control of it. You could electrolyse it from water, but guess what that takes? Power! And where does most of the power come from? Fossil fuels!
  4. "people worse off than you" and the well known (and numerous) members of society that take advantage of the Social System are not necessarily the same people. There are plenty of folks who don't take advantage, but they are still relatively poor. We spent a quarter of our GDP on the welfare state. There are plenty of savings to be made.
  5. A prime example of a Veblen Good. Where people want it because its overpriced! Suckers! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veblen_good
  6. Ok for £24 I suppose, good one for the burger-haters.
  7. You might as well strike out the "allegedly" there. HMRC are bang to rights on Vodaphones £6bn let-off, and the tax manoeuvres of Green, the Barcley Bros. and the rest of them are well known. Mr. Osbourne is of course keen to please his non-dom mates, and assist in off-shoring as much tax as possible. Waste and bureaucracy exist at both ends of the earning spectrum. The poor have nothing to take, and the rich can afford to avoid paying. We, the fat middle, all get hammered.

  9. I didn't take any pictures of us pushing uphill through the bog though...
  10. Have you met Jeb? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efs2zdQp0RE&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm8fqzxW0Tw&feature=related
  11. Likely shows who's busiest at work then!
  12. Soooooo, the "winning" Karcher washer is nearly twice the price of the other two from Bosch and Nilfisk. Massive surprise there then. Good effort on the part of the Karcher press office for that one I presume! Especially when they do sell washers in the £150-£200 bracket the other two sit in. What was the point?
  13. They made a V5 version???
  14. It's ok, at the moment I haven't been given the leave for easter, so the best I can manage is saturday morning. So it'll be a small ride, and then lunch before i have to run up to Inverness! I assume you will be spending all friday travelling?
  15. You wouldn't catch me sitting there! Surely that's not going to last long...
  16. Yep, good weekend this time Ash, my arse is glad of a day off today though! The joys of hardtail riding. I must have done 40 odd miles, and several thousand feet ascent! I think its about 500m Immy, But its quite a sheer drop down to the lake. Found this pic: Decsent line down to the right on the photo, heading into the gully and then the woods above Crag Farm.

    TVR Chimaera

Depreciation free yes, but you could easily spent thousands just keeping it on the road, unlike the Zed. Defiantly not a day-to-day car.
  18. Local slog and tech-fest descent on Crag Fell today. It's a good job the descent is good, as its a right slog to get up!
