  1. I ran my power and phono leads down the passenger side and the rear speaker cable down the centre console with the remote lead. The 350Z is real easy to work on, everything unclips and for once the clips are pretty strong so dont break.
  2. I dont use my sat nav much but i like it, works well and i like the split screen view when you come to junctions.
  3. Have you connected the 3 bare wires to the correct wires on the remaining plug that isnt used?
  4. Ive had quite a few comments from the neighbours, it seems everyone prefers the 350Z to my Z4, even my Mum who knows nothing about cars. I prefer the reactions i get from some other drivers though, i find less people try and race you and the looks of 'parents must be rich'.
  5. I decided on a 350Z even before i had even been in one. Had a Z4 before and although that was great fun to drive it got dull and boring and those stupid run flat tyres. The 350Z is so much more fun and the better i get at driving it the more fun it becomes, the Z4 made me lazy.
  6. The first headunit (720) wont work with the bose system as it only has rear preouts, for a aftermarket headunit to work with the bose amps you need this adaptor... http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/steering ... 9-674.html and a headunit with front and rear preouts. The newer 730 model has these so i'd go for this one. To get the steering wheel controls to work you will need a JVC patch lead.... http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/ict/p~29-004.html?cat=0 The OEM phone kit will no longer work though but you can get a module for the JVC to use a bluetooth phone.
  7. There a very limited car is regards to numbers so i doult they'll let you test drive one. Most dealers may only have one and that'll be the showroom car. Its not like sytner BMW where they have loads of demo cars people can test drive.
  8. No problem with mine, i just want a spare set for when/if i need to roll back to the stock bose system. Ive cut mine up to make brackets for my JL components.
  9. Hi, i'm after the front door speaker drivers from the bose system. Anyone got a pair of these laying around?
  10. Bumpers on alot of Jap cars are normally a slightly different colour i find as there plastic and the other panels are metal. Getting them resprayed should give you a better match then when it left the factory. Just take a look at the front end of a new MX-5, the match is terrible on GM.
  11. I stole the cargo net out of my dads Octavia. Its a little bit to big but was free.
  12. My mate has an E46 M3 Cab and on paper it is faster. Maybe it was an auto and he wasnt in sport mode.
  13. Its so you can fit a switch for your under car neon's.
  14. I get more positive comments about the 350Z then i did about the Z4. It seems the Z4 is a marmite car where as everyone likes the 350Z.
  15. Following this guide.... http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Tutorial ... stallation It looks like if you use the original speaker bracket you can fit a decent size speaker in there. I plan to follow that guide when i do mine and my JL's are no way as deep as the one they used.
  16. I had an hour spare before lunch so i wired up the sat nav to the aux input on my headunit. I now have sat nav sound with an aftermarket headunit. The way i did it was my headunit has an aux input lead with twin phonos. I seperated these out and connected them to the sat nav plug. You use pins 18,19,20. 18 - Navi Earth 19 - Navi Input (-) 20 - Navi Input (+) I'm happy with this solution as i use sat nav maybe a couple times a year.
  17. Compared to your install this is my mini JL install. I may replace the rears aswell with some JL's depending on how i like the sound with just fronts. I used the fascia and iso loom that was recommended in the sticky... http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/facia_pa ... 0-306.html http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/steering ... 9-674.html At the moment i have lost sat nav sound but will looking at wiring it into the Aux input my headunit has, i can then switch to this source to have sat nav sound when needed which isnt very often at all.
  18. Not even had my 350Z for 2 weeks yet and ive already started my audio install. I got the fascia and iso loom with steering wheel controls from sextons and installed my Alpine CDA-9886R headunit yesterday.... Steering wheel controls work great and the phone buttons are now used to changed source and folders. My next plan is to see what my Alpine PXA-H100 Processor will make of the bose system if i try and Imprint it. Eventually i'll be putting my JL 6.5" Components in the front doors and will run them of my JL 300/2 Slash Amp. I also have a JL 10w6v2 subwoofer which will be going in a custom sealed box under the strut bar, this will run of a JL 500/1 Slash Amp.
  19. Ive done a search on the topic but cant find anything. Is is possible to have complete closure from the alarm remote? For those who dont know what i mean its when you lock the car the windows will auto close if open.
  20. I think CS does a full set delivered for £125 which seems a very good price.
  21. I have one on my mk1 mr2, how hard are they to fit on the 350Z?
  22. Are yellowstuff more for track use though, i really want something that is going to work well straight away from cold? The driving characteristics are more like my Mk1 Mr2 that i havent driven for 18 months now, the 350Z is nice and raw which i like. I will have to see what the brakes are like when i really put my foot down, i like them to be progressive but was expecting abit more being brembos. Come winter i'll either put some bridgestone 050's or falken 452's on all round.
  23. I have the original bridgestone 040's on 18" rays still on the car with about 4mm on the rear and 4-5mm on the front. Should the brembo's put you through the windscreen if you just tap the brakes though? The service book said it had a P3 service last september and fluid levels are ok. Pads are half warn and disks have a very slight lip. I might thrown some Red stuff pads on there? What are these like for cold bite as i do alot of short trips.
