  1. Just had a quick look and it doesnt appear they support the built in adaptive steering control interface anymore.
  2. The 530bt doesn't have a built in steering control interface so your stuck with what the third party interface box has set the buttons too. I have a 9986 and with its built in interface allows you to choose what each button does.
  3. I'd start with the headunit and do this if the output level is to low.... http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/58947-reduced-sound-out-put-after-replacing-oe-bose/
  4. I thought the Bose sounded alright, sounded great with an aftermarket head unit also. You need a band expander for imports to pick up radio 1.
  5. If your planning on running the Bose amp then in not sure how that will work or sound as the Bose system uses 1-2 ohm speakers where as most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm.
  6. I've had plenty of subs in the past and by far the best is the current JL 10w6v2, its running 500w rms from the JL 500/1 and sounds great ported or sealed. I use to run 2 pioneer 12's of a PG amp in the past and this 10" keeps up with them. With it sealed its got a tighter sound with a slight loss in sound volume, its opened my eyes to having decent bass and not just loud thuddy bass. Wasnt cheap though, the sub was £300 and amp £400.
  7. I believe the bose tweeter takes a full signal from the same wiring as the woofer but has a inline filter on the back of the tweeter. I always use new wiring so that i can upgrade the wiring and convert back to stock with ease.
  8. As with alot of Jap cars the radios as mentioned above are bolted to the car. It would take alot to pull the radio out, i never bother to remove the fascia on any of my cars these days.
  9. I always use this image as my reference....
  10. I was using one in our Alfa GT with Bose before i upgraded the head unit.
  11. I would tap into the wires as they come out the back of the head unit. I'm not sure what the Bose amp in the boot does but this sends a signal to the sub amp, could be filtered, not sure.
  12. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/celsus-lc2-adjustable-converter.html I've used these a couple times with decent results.
  13. There's similar products called audio control lc2i and lc6i but these start at over £100, its alot to spend if you plan on upgrading the head unit later.
  14. ps. If using high level inputs I think you need to take the feed from the headunit and not at the speaker if using bose as the bose amp has its own filters and would of already filtered out the bass by the time the signal gets to the rear speakers.
  15. Brideged mode? Low pass mode? No RCA's also. If you tap into the rear speakers and use the high level inputs then on the amp you will need to set the crossover filter for sub frequencies. Depends on the amp but there should be a off/low/high filter switch along with a gain and freq dial .
  16. Either use high level inputs on the amp if it has them or use a high to low level adaptor.
  17. 12".... http://www.zenclosures.com/Nissan-350Z-1-12-Under-Strut-Bar-Subwoofer-Box-p/z112u.htm
  18. The line boosters are for when the sound is too low due to low voltage pre outs. To get round this others have just spliced into the high level speaker outputs and fed the bose amp of these.
  19. I use to do alot of town driving and only get 11mpg. Try and look for a GT spec with Rays alloys (werent standard on early cars)
  20. Should be on the M39 connector. 24 NAVI ON (R/B) – RED / BLACK STRIPE 30 NAVI INPUT (-) (W/B) = WHITE / BLACK STRIPE 31 NAVI EARTH (B/OR) = BLACK / ORANGE STRIPE 32 NAVI INPUT (+) (L/B) = BLUE / BLACK STRIPE http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/148-australia/67077-project-1-oem-audio-controls-steering-wheel-aus-03-05-a-2.html
  21. As above, because the headunit only has 2 sets of pre outs check the second set is set to rear and not sub.
  22. As above, i used the 29-674 loom and patch lead. Its £34.99 from incartec.
  23. It would take a DIY noob near 3 hours, but for a pro or someone thats done it before it should only take about an hour. Wish i was on £75 an hour.
  24. How do you plan on getting that box in once built? It doesnt matter to much which way the sub faces either as bass is non directional. I've got a picture somewhere of my 10w6v2 in a 0.625 cubit ft box somewhere, its the perfect size that JL recommend.
