I bought mine when it was exactly 3 years old (54-plate Coupe). Other than a back box that needed replacing I've not (touch wood) had any other problems. Jap cars are reknowned for their mechanical reliability. My dash vibrates a bit at certain revs but all in all, I'm very happy with it. If you want a car that gives the person behind the steering wheel the best time, there is no comparison between the TT and the Zed. The Zed is far more involving and much more fun to drive hard.

I've never owned a TT but I've had extended test drives in both the old model and the new one. I've got a Zed now so that should give you a clue as to what I thought was best

I don't think dolls will work. They use a camera that can spot heat signatures within the car IIRC. I've heard that a big dog can fool them though.

You're problem with this is that you are dealing with two separate entities and just because you in dispute with NMGB, its actually got nothing to do with the dealer. They can legitimately request that you return the car, which I suggest you do otherwise you'll get yourself in a whole pile of dung.
