  1. Hi Ricky, Sorry if I came across as a bit negative earlier. I loved my scoobies and yours is a brilliant example, I should have made that clear in my previous post. I just can't help feeling let down by the brand these days. I forgot to mention earlier that the dealers are the best I've ever come in to contact with too. EVERYTHING I know about Subaru ownership tells me they are excellent cars to buy... apart from the current image and reputation. Strangely, this has never really bothered me with a car I've loved before either but for some reason it does now with the scoobies. I know you'll love driving it and it will be superb on a track as well as on the road, that has always been one of the great strengths of the car. I just wish they gave me feelings of excitement and desire like they used to give me. I'd have another one in a flash if they did.
  2. Jay will have to bring his own knive's then. Give bigphil a call to see if you can get a set of nismo branded carving knives. Or you could bring a packed lunch to eat in the car park whilst we dine....................you could look after our car's as well at the same time. I'm not sure a Nismo Blade would cut it as a knife... (sorry) Jay - I doubt I'll be needing a guard for my car, I'm expecting it to be in the high thirties/forties in order of preference for a thief on the 11th May. Come inside and enjoy some Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puds.

    Binned it

Hey bitch, Beavis won't be impressed with you... Might be worth asking the Ins Co for a buy back price. Looks OK sort of... looks like mainly bodywork to me, although I'm no expert.
  4. I never overtake them anymore. I did it once in a metallic dark blue 200sx a few years back and I needed to get the bonnet resprayed afterwards. Ever since then, I just hang back and wince as people like you cruise past wrecking your nice cars.

Jeezzzus! Firstly, glad to hear you're OK. Secondly, how did it happen? Were you just a bit over ambitious?
  6. I'd go and see dealers but go there not being afraid to use the following: "bollox", "bu11sh1t" and "I wasn't born yesterday". As Martin said above
  7. * * Why is everyone posting up smilies? cos you are not in the know GoogleEarth his work car park and you'll probably be able to see it oh and....
  8. No, I'm far too shy to put myself on the internet. He is far better looking than me.
  9. I used to love Imprezas and if anyone asks me today what my favourite car is that I've ever owned I would have to say it was one of my Scoobies. I've owned two, I liked them that much. The first I had in 1997, it was a 96-year UK car with the full Prodrive kit on it (wheels, suspension, interior, engine upgrade) and the second I had in 1998. I imported a brand new WRX STi Type-R Coupe (which was the base for the UK's P1 variant). Owning this in 1998 when I was only 21/22 was pretty much perfect and is definitely the most fun I've had in a car on the Queen's highway. Problem is, now I've turned 30 (OK I'm 32 later this year ) I just couldn't bring myself to even consider getting another one. 10 years ago they were cool, they were rare, ownership brought you admiration and there was nothing else like them on the roads (Evo's were just as rare and I could eat Escort Cossie's for breakfast). Now, in 2008, they have become the definitive Chav motor and when people see them they turn their noses up in disgust. Its a great piece of machinery that has sadly become a victim of its own success. I wouldn't drive one in public now if it was given to me free... and the STi is still the best car I've owned (at the time I owned it). RIP Subaru
  10. Dave, just stick near the front and if you lose the lead car, just assuming lead car status yourself! At least that way you'll be with the majority
  11. I wouldn't imagine that in a convoy of 40-50 Zeds you're going to have much of a problem following people Its mostly one road all the way to Bala from Chester so you should be able to get there for lunch. And if you get lost on the way back, well... its always possible to find your way home isn't it?

  13. I'm a halibut man myself.... from the Chippy Sea bass in a decent restaurant Tuna on a Barbie (plus the obligatory shrimps)
  14. Haddock! None of that cod rubbish that is served south of the border..... I met a bloke on holiday a few years back who owned a couple of chippy's in Bolton. He was telling me that he quite often serves Haddock, even though the menu says Cod, because most people don't know the difference and its a lot cheaper.

    tyre pressures

+1 wots that then................. 35psi as they've already said but if you ever need to know on a car you should take a look at the sills around the drivers door, there is usually a guide stuck in there with the tyre pressures. This applies to every car I've ever had/driven so I assume it applies to most.
  16. I think the skyline is a slightly different kettle of fish mind. The Skyline's stock engine is actually a detuned version of what Nissan wanted it to be due to the "gentleman's agreement" the Japanese car manufacturers have together with the Japanese government. The fact you only need to spend £400 on an off-the-shelf chip to take a V-Spec R33 or R34 from 276bhp to 390bhp+ tells you that. The car is made for that power without further modification. With the Zed, Nissan intended it to be as it is, hence the difficulty in making it very much more powerful. Obviously everything I just typed is IMHO and the facts are IIRC - just in case I'm talking bollox again
  17. +1 You're both mistaken, kuro is Azure is
  18. Since joining this site and learning that any mods are completely negated by the ecu I have been completely put off the idea of modding my Zed. I too am very surprised that people are spending vast sums of money on zorsts, plenums, induction kits, manifolds, etc with no performance gain. Seems totally pointless to me. £2,000 to make it sound better???? If I did decide to mod my car it would be with a ecu remap firmly in mind.
  19. Cars looks nice Si (assuming this is your name?) CF pillars look good, how much did the Nismo variants cost you if you don't mind me asking?
  20. martinmac a.k.a Beavis's Bitch Has a nice ring to it, maybe you could have it as a personalised tag to replace "Z Veteran"
  21. Good post but I couldn't see a graph
  22. I think the papers and the HSE are being a bit over the top there. It doesn't look that dangerous to me, in fact, I bet its safer than the similar rides that get set up and operated by pikeys at the travelling fairgrounds. Its not as bad as this one that Sarnie posted up a few months ago... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CozB_32U ... re=related
  23. You might want to try sending user "350matty" a PM. He's got a cracked backbox pipe and needs a new one. I'm not sure if he has a JDM or UK car... are the backboxes the same on both?
