I'd say Toyos every time. Put them on my supra and it stuck to the road like glue even in the wet. The odd wiggle when I was pushing it through the windy tree lined roads to my house but superb handling. Didn't have the car long, a few months, but the wear seemed good. A problem I found with other 'performance' tyres they get grip but with a soft compound meaning quick wear. The toyos seemed to get superb grip with excellent wearing too.

Elise supposed to be good for 36mpg lol but don't think I'd want to do that mileage in one! Whats your budget? You can't go far wrong with Passats, never had one myself but if I had to have a 'sensible' car then I'd go for Passat. For a low budget runaround, pug Dturbos are really comfy for long journeys. The HDI engine is superb in the later pugs if you can live with the styling. I've got a pug 406 hdi estate, all the toys and 167k...only bought it as a runaround til I get the Zed

Stunning pic that. I'd love to have the vision to take pics like that.

I got a good deal, its really cheap for an 05 so couldn't get anything else. Plus, gotta wonder how good the warranty's are from import - waiting to see paperwork but I bet there are loads of caveats.

Police road checks & £120 fine for me!-UPDATE

That sucks - but 5 months! My memory is terrible but not that bad. My uncle used to do that on his RS2000 that I subsequently bought off him, huuuge gaps in the MOT dates - all unintentional I should add, just forgetful. -
I did say he needed to check that when they were prepping the car and I wouldn't have it if it did. Everything looks mint on it to back up the mileage, a bit of damager to the front bumper arch which they are fixing and 1 paint chip on the door which they will do and thats it.

lol, not sure what I'm more excited about at the moment. Car I think as the trip is for work.

Hopefully not, only in work 2 days this week, then off to Toronto on Sunday for 5 days, then flying to Sudbury, back to Toronto then back to UK. Hopefully pick the car up on the way home from airport if not too tired. Can't wait! Only just fit in it though, feel nice

Well viewed a JDM, couldn't take her out but she is very nice. The deal we've agreed and spec is: Orange colour 2005 18" wheels S spec with Brembos Sat Nav/TV (bonus, wasn't listed but prob worthless anyway) 6k 6 months warranty 12 months MOT 6 months Tax undersealed She idled perfectly, not signs of any problems. Very quite compared with my Supra V6, nice when you rev though. Can't wait, hopefully will pick car up in fortnight if all goes well.

Wow that was quick, I think that indeed may be the one! Your thread prompted me to ask as I was going to say yours looks crap give it to me! I think yours is slightly different design though. I would guess he sprayed the lower bumper part black, nice effect. Looks like I've found mods 1 & 2 for my Zed (when I get one). Pop Charger & mesh thing. Cheers matey.

Anyone know what this grill is and where I can get it? linky Was going to ask the owner but seemed a bit mean if I don't end up buying his car. Also - it looks a standard bumper apart from underneath the mesh - how did he do that?

Spare key? is there an issue with that on jdm?

Good advice that, I'm not sure why I'm unsure about imports as I've owned several. Never this new though. I'm much more confident now for my visit to HSC cars Sunday - fingers crossed shes as mint as the dealer describes.
-
Still can't beat a stick though. You can beat with a stick I suppose. Trouble is now, when I find a stick, I think, hmm I could stir paint with that.
-
Now see I'm even more unsure! Sarnie says no, Steve_b says yes. I think I'll view the JDM with as open a mind as possible and go armed with info from on here. I hate looking at all your cars and not having my own yet. Hopefully remedy that soon tho!

I've read through the threads on the differences but from the people who actually own them what would you consider are the negatives from owning a JDM? I've done a search for servicing but nothing really answering my query - what do the JDM guys do for servicing? I've been leaning towards UK model, but I'm looking at JDMs this weekend so wondering what problems JDM ownership could bring. My supra was imported, as were a few preludes I've owned and never had a problem but the Nissan is a lot newer and servicing is key I think. My search skills may be weak so if someone knows a thread where this has been covered then feel free to point me at it!

Sorry mate, cannot remember ever being bored as a kid, if we couldn't play outside we read books, nowadays with all your ipods, PC's etc half the kids can't bloody read!!! Agree with that, I think 'we' had more imagination as kids. If we were bored we didn't need to spend £44 on a game to create a new world to play, you just needed a stick. A stick became a gun, light sabre, bow and arrow, anything you wanted. And I'm only 32!

Beautiful car the Noble. I'd love one and considering you can pick up what is effectivly a supercar for as little as 22k they are amazing.
-
I was thinking about going to see him as well. For some reason the cars didn't look as good, but if you are recommending him then I'll call in. Cheers for that! Don't suppose you looked at HSC cars at all? I'm surprised no-one has used him as he appears to have a lot of Zeds.
-
I was looking at this, think its gonna end way above my budget though. Nice looking car, surprised the GT4 hasn't got a spoiler though?

I think I'll have a trip to Gloucester this Sunday to look at the import Zeds he has there (HSC Cars). By then I should have the cash needed so if they are comfy and as nice in the flesh then I'll probably offer on the UK orange in London or the orange in Dorset if they are still available. Or I might talk myself into the import one with 6k whilst I am there ahhhh decisions!! I've read through the import section, nothing really put me off but servicing could be an issue. The garage offers 3 month warranty which is something I suppose. I really want the mesh on the dorset one though, Grilltek or something I read somewhere. Doing my head in looking at all these Zeds, need to make my mind up! Driving a PUG 406 HDI at the moment, really missing my Supra.

One of the import dealers I'm talking to said a similar thing when I asked about resetting the mileage. Apparantly it voids any warranted miles certificate you get from Japan so my concern would be questions over the mileage in the future for resale. My preference would be all in miles, but I've had quite a few imports and they've all been mixed.

I remember all that too - had a Grifter, awesome! Remember the Adventure Game, like the crystal maze but with celebs, a tea plant and the Vortex. Superb stuff. I had the Atari 2600 and a Sharp MZ700. I remember a football game where you stood either side of the road and tried to hit the kerb causing the ball to come back. Kids play that now but use bricks and aim at cars.

Can't wait for this, Aliens is one of my favourite films of all time. AVP wasn't the best but for die hard fans you've gotta love it - if only for the alien/predator fight scene! Lets face it how many of us discussed that as kids in school (probably 18 years ago - scary!). I still remember the first time I watched Predator, awesome. The second wasn't as good but still a classic.
