  1. Haha thanks I did tell Lucy I already asked this a few years ago but she insisted Nissan told her otherwise! We dont want a dodgy DIY fix not when number 1 childs life is in the balance! She might have to keep her Porker after all if Nissan dont come clean on this one!
  2. Thanks for looking I will let her know. She needs to phone Nissan UK really
  3. Thanks for the reply. Hmm interesting? The problem is some child seats are very heavy ? Suppose she needs to call Nissan UK to get proper confirmation?
  4. Thanks for the reply? She was told its in the glovebox apparently? Think she should have phoned Nissan UK rather than a dealer!!
  5. Hi everyone , been a while since I did a post on here! Hope everyone is ok? It looks like my other half might be getting back to Zed life (wish I was!) however this is subject to a teeny question? Please can anyone with a 2012 -> 370 confirm if there is an 'off switch' for passenger airbag? Manchester dealer has told her yes but I have not seen anything about it anywhere? Needed for our little un ? They also said it cant be retro fitted to earlier ones? Thanks in advance Stan
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-35001277 He was involved in delivering parts for the new replacement bridge and then we hear the cable mounts are cracking on the old one!! Haha I recon he is playing with us! 😀 No fags or whisky in Heaven so he is getting the jitters and has to release that tension somehow! 😂😂😂
  7. Both myself and Lucy are stunned and saddened by this news. Our thoughts are with Liz and Marts family. Like so many old timers on here,we have known Martin and Liz for a number of years. Martin was a cornerstone of the club, he really was one of the most helpful and friendliest people I can honestly say I have met in my life. No matter what he would go off and make things happen, usually from his ships wifi all hours day and night ! (I have the emails to prove it!) He will be very sadly missed and even now he will be up in heaven complaining he cant get a internet connection,to arrange the next Lakes meet and making a deal with God so just for once it wouldn't rain on the day! I can still see him , fag end hanging over the drivers door with ash dropping on my windscreen as we drove behind them with the roof down! RIP Mart
  8. I know what you mean about the steering!!! First 10 minutes of driving it home on the motorway! Sheesh scary pants! Fly by wire steering !! Nein Danke! It was super light , like RC model car light, which it might as well be! Changing the mode sorted that of course. I had no issues with the brakes , wonder if someone had been messing with settings on yours? Mine had all sorts of weird auto defaults, I know short of changing its body colour as you drive, its really modifiable! Sport mode and dare I say it Eco mode standard mode is just dull! Anyway I just want the hybrid tech in the G37 or the FX ! Come on Infiniti get your skates on!
  9. This is same feeling we got when driving home in the Civic after handing back the Lexus IS hybrid after a 24 hr test drive. Infact we are so sold on the EV/Hybrid concept as the future of cars ended up ordering a Lexus hybrid for the wife (Due in the UK next week ), and even got the go ahead from the wife to get a Tesla S when the time comes to get rid of the BMW As for battery concerns...there isnt much. Consumer reports tested a 10 year old Prius thats done 200,000 miles and found hardly any loss in performance. Toyota do a 100,000 mile / 5 year warranty on hybrid units, Tesla do UNLIMITED / 8 year warranty. Currently if my BMW gets through 6 months / 5000 miles without having to vist Mitz for repairs I'll be looking out for flying pigs http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2011/02/the-200-000-mile-question-how-does-the-toyota-prius-hold-up/index.htm?userWantsFull=true Oh thats good to know, thanks for the info
  10. Haha! Funny you say that I did mention to the dealer, as soon as I see at least 1 or 2 per day , its time to change !! They are selling Q50 diesels to fleet providers at the moment, the Stockport dealers have a full car park of them! So unfortunately they might actually be seen on the roads soon!
  11. Perfect description from -ianphampton! ;-) I've had my G37S coupe for almost a year now and love it. Its deffo a fab lond distance grant tourer with a good seized boot and 4 seats. I needed a back seat for my littleun but I still wanted the Zed style fun and dependability. Be warned the convertible boot is tiny when roof is down so consider that before you buy? Some more info, they sell about 10-12 G37's a year and I have only seen 1 other on the road in 12 months, something I quite like.Nobody knows what they are and I always get asked about it at work, petrol stations etc! You can get manuals but they are a special factory order, ok if you buy new £46K with all the spec!!! But doubt you will see one for sale second hand? They are basically a 350z floorpan with 370z running gear, rear wheel steer etc etc (google it) or look at my thread last year about mine? Interior fit and finish is superb and why Nissan cant do that level of quality in all their cars is beyond me? I find them no more expensive than a zed to run, i do a lot of motorway miles in mine and it just soaks them up, more tech than you can shake a stick at but they will depreciate badly unless Infiniti start advertising soon! Go for a test drive Infiniti are not pushy about sales which is probably their downfall!
  12. Wow Colin! Surprised never knew you were letting Guns go! Merc looks pretty cool and great colour, glad you found what you wanted! We will need a new section in the club, former zed owners ,non-zed cars meets etc! ;-) Knowing you, bet you showed the salesman how to drive it properly! Enjoy it!
  13. Thought I would keep the Infiniti flag flying! I had my G37S in for a service (yes those zed 9000 mile services come around too quickly). Local Infiniti dealer lent me their new Q50S Hybrid for the day. Considering I am a luddite and have no intention of ever buying a car based on an electric milk float I was a little apprehensive. Last year I drove the diesel (Merc engined ) Q50 and frankly a 20 year old 1.2 Micra has more refinement and pick-up although interior and finish is superb! Anyway back to this one. I think since the corporate grille restyle they look a bit too Lexus and although I dont mind the Q50 look over all its not really me. But ignoring the £43000 price tag, a mountain of electric toys and technology this thing was a revelation! This is no Toyota Prius, Infiniti dont want to save fluffy cute little bunnies from pollution ,well maybe , they want to pretend they do but what they have created is a performance 350z with a 60hp electric motor to help that performance and yes it runs on electricity sometimes also but wow its faster than mine!! So what happens? I get in I push the start button, and other than a nice media show reminding you its an infiniti on the console and the dials spinning around as a system test, nothing happens? I press the gas pedal and off it moves quiet as a fluffy rabbit. This is a bit freaky the I press the pedal further and wooohoo the real engine kicks into life and what a fantastic growl and good god does it fly! 0-60 in 5.1 I read somewhere? Numbers aside it feels fast, super fast! I then discovered it has a drive mode switch of course there is normal mode (this was an auto) sport, personal and the limp Eco mode! In normal mode it was good but steering which is fly by wire is super light and zero feedback, dont like it. In Sport mode! Steering tightens up but again no feed back! Shame as sport mode inserts a hot chilli up its exhaust pipe! Obviously economy suffers but erm ..... Bothered?! I did try Eco mode which is Infiniti's little joke,(it displays a little green ECO light but if you cane it the light goes out and it rockets anyway!) yes the engine cools off a bit, the electric motor does a little more and I noticed under 65mph cruising it just runs on the electric motor, great you have a 3.7 v6 car and using just battery power during those boring motorway slower speeds, you push the pedal and there is a seamless transition where the engine fires up instantly, no juddering and not fits and starts - it just works! I was amazed by it all! I will be knocking their door down soon as they do this for the 4x4 QX or whatever its called now? But eye watering prices! So I am a convert , other than the limp steering( hopefully they wont use that again) that car was great. Tough screen centre console , good but not a big fan really prefer my switches, you dont want to be looking at a screen to switch something on you want to just feel the switch like now. Only other downside the satnav woman has aged 20 years and is on 40 fags a day? Her voice was a bit rough! Driving home in mine again I felt like Barney Rubble!! Mine is 2012 and it felt prehistoric! I didn't ask about service cost or how long the batteries last but you know it wont be cheap? Have a go you will be impressed. Stan

  16. Sorry have this crazy idea about fitting one into my VW Baywindow camper ? Obviously a lot of work but just curious? So not bothered about which version just a rough idea of size (if it fits in the original engine bay) and weight if it weighs 15 tonnes then not worth the trouble?
  17. Just wondered if anyone knew the physical size of the engine and its weight?
  18. Each to their own but not all of us like primary colours ;-)
  19. Would be the only colour I would have if I was to get a 350 again by some miracle especially with the orange seats!
