  1. Hi chaps its probably my wireless router - been a bit moody recently- just sits there for ages trying to upload my pics (correct size etc) never mind will play with it later. Thanks for the compliments guys - just a shame you did'nt see if after it was freshly waxed up - there's bound to be a dry day this year! Wales .......I will check calendar at work tomorrow - unfortunately in my job (unfortunately it is IT!! ) I have to work some weekends - just about every one since October so far. Also discovered how loud a cold Zed is from startup - he he he my neighbours are going to love me tomorrow morning!
  2. Hi hope this helps owners without built in satnav like me? Last year I decided to join the current century and gave in to buying a small SatNav - FujitsuSiemens N100 - really neat little unit - anyway to cut a long story short I found a nice method of mounting it - not to the windscreen. Works well in Zed also - here is a copy of the article I did for the Fujitsu forum. (in my usual stupid stylie -sorry) Because this unit is so tiny you can mount it on your rearview mirror! I guess other manufacturers fittings are similar in design so you should be able to adjust yours to suit - not sure about Tom Tom though they are huge units - probably the mirror will fall off with the weight? Ok in best Blue Peter style, you will need: Ingredients: Approx 10 x 3/4 inch Velcro (both hook and loop)(not self adhesive) (Pound shop/Quality save!) Short strip of double sided sticky tape (2 inches) Small rubber or firm foam strip (1/4 or 1/2 inch thick x 2inches long) Stapler Sissors 10 minutes cooking time Preperation: Cut the Velcro into 2 strips 5 inches long Pull apart the hook from the loop, overlap 1/2 inch on one end and put together so it hooks, then in the middle put a staple in (see pics) Repeat for other strip. Feed the velcro through the small mounting holes in the cradle - hooks on top loop on bottom (see pics) Ensure the stapled bit is out of harms way and centre the velcro so its roughly equi-distant either side of cradle. Now cut a slight nip either side of the velcro on back of cradle where it enters and exits the holes, this releases the pressure on it - since its slightly wider than the holes and also stops it sliding about in the holes (clever eh!) Now put the double sided tape across the middle of the back of the cradle and stick the bit of foam to it -this acts as a grip and positions the unit securely. Enjoy: Now proceed in an orderly manner to your horseless carriage and wrap the velcro around your rearview mirror - one side across the mounting rod and the other tight across the back of the mirror housing so its offset towards the passenger side. Nice and simple and I think safer. Your near to it and have a chance to see the teeny weeny writing and hear Miss Sat Nav wittering away the instructions while you listen to your bangin' tunes on the 8 track! Be careful you dont want to block your rear sight though - works best on a wider mirror . Stupid thing is I dont need it day to day as its not got Traffic management so it sits at home until I need to go somewhere different or abroad! Stan
  3. Thanks Mike - can you also sort Photobucket out themselves that web site is so pants - I cant get anything working on there at the mo . Oh well the old fasioned way some more pics it actually stopped raining for 10 minutes today! Of course the car is dirty again I keep looking at that front bumper the shade seems a little lighter than the rest of bodywork in some light and yet others its not - I checked if it has been resprayed but it does'nt appear to have been maybe its just me being paranoid? At least its a 2007 bumper not a 2003 !! Stan
  4. Thanks matey- black was my fall back car on Saturday in Wakefield - this blue is just as bad to keep clean - its gonna be a proper wax after wash eveytime I know it! Probably the same for everyone which is why they all look spangly on the motorway every timeI see one no matter the colour! Enjoy your holls - got a day off tomorrow so gonna pray for sunshine and go for a proper run out - will wait for the comments at work on Tuesday! Remind us again of the temperature out there?
  5. Thanks mate yes it was a very happy day and also the needle on the fuel tank did'nt drop to empty at the end of it!
  6. Thanks everybody I wondered if I was ever gonna get one myself - sensible side of the force was strong! Anyway for some reason Photobucket is not working properly so only managed to upload 1 picture see below. Of course it lashed it down today also with hailstones for good measure, I decided to wash it then wax it before the rain - thats 3 hours work the second I finished the last wheel the heavens opened! Why do I bother! Easy car to wash bad colour to keep clean, wheels take almost as long as the bodywork to clean?? It looks the dogs though glad I chose this colour it really is weird- black or dark blue or pearl blue with small hint of green under some light - bit of an odd one? I love it! I think i am working that weekend of the Wales trip - but will check if I can maybe get the time off- worse case I can pop across to St.Davids and say hi! Will try to get some more pics on the forum for you - lets hope the rain stops - incidentally has anyone a good way of peeling dealer sticker off back window - its a sticky one not electrostatic I am worried about ripping one of the heating elements off ?? Thanks Stan
  7. Thanks - yes 30mpg - but it is probably optimistic - but the rev counter is less than on my Diesel ditchfinder at the same speed? Probably helps? Rattles yes I know what you mean ? Will have a proper look around tomorrow - if it ever stops raining!! I wondered if it was the window/door as ithe rattle reduced when the drivers window was half down? If Mazda or Toyota made this car it would have Zero rattles! No scuttle shake though which I am impressed with.
  8. Thanks - gonna be touch moneywise for a bit but the grin I have had on my chops all day is priceless! Incidentally is it true that roadsters dont have the bluetooth doodar fitted ?
  9. hi - just got mine today think your gonna love yours - good luck with it - pics please Stan
  10. Ex Demo - yes I know .....but it seems okay - no scratches that I could see and inside is nice and tidy. Engine sounds puurfect!! Had my eye on it for a while and they dropped the price recently - I could'nt resist trouble now its gonna be baked beans on toast for 3 years to pay for it - just as well the roof opens eh! So not sure if camping trip is going to happen I did stretch myself a bit has'nt taken the grin off my face though.
  11. Thanks will do - I was frustraited not taking a pic when it was all shiny - mind you it was lashing it down all day anyway so its covered in road muck now ! Sad but I keep peeping out the front window to see if I was'nt dreaming! How old am I! Not even transferred all my car parafanalia into it yet?
  12. Hi - you waved to me in my superwaxed Night Blue Roadster - I had just picked it up and was going home - thanks for the wave btw Stan
  13. I have today!! See my post in General section! - Probably spot it quite easily now!
  14. Hi - after much talk I made good on my promises! I am today the proud owner of an '07 350Z ragtop in Night Blue !! (Sorry Martin you lost your commission on that grey one!) So how not to buy a car!! Dont test drive one nearer home before you go and see the one you want! Sort out the finances on what you think will be needed instead of actually finding out!! Dont buy a practical cheap van before the Zed - no cement bag is going anywhere near my roadster! Buy it on one of the wetest dayes this year! Forget my shades! But what the hell!! Ok now I understand properly what you lot have been bangin' on about- think this is going to be my last fun car - this is defo a keeper! Best surprise of the day - averaged 30 mpg over 100 miles today all sorts of roads and with duff gear changes etc etc until I get used to it. Only 1 downside so far - there is a soddin' annoying rattle from right side behind my ear about 70mph - ahem or thereabouts Just wanted to say thanks folks for your advice and support P.S Dark by the time I got home so picture is just to show you it actually exists - lets hope its a dry day tomorrow! Night Blue by Night eh? Disclaimer: there is no hairdrier attachment in the car btw and I don't own or work in a hair dressing emporium before you ask!
  15. http://www.zchickz.com/custom%20alarm%20system.jpg Dont think much of this one - shes a reet dog! Best looking gal I ever saw in a car was a scruffy looking Ford Ka - yes I know who cares she looked stunning in it! Come on Zed Girls go for it.... Girl Zed power and all that erm stuff things .....whatsit.....
  16. oh dear - just get on a dating website - probably less hassle and better response!! Ha ha ha just kiddin Enjoy the scenery...

    White?

Think its their demo - been their for a while now - its a sort of pastel white - which I like compared to a glacier panel van white - if thats what you mean? Been seeing a white import every morning on M56 East bound to Manc past airport this week - looks ace! The 80's are back !
  18. Not a good night last night - Leave Ewloe 4pm - get to Little Chef Roundabout towards M56 4:35! (about 3 miles max) - the cause they have one of those wagons with the illuminated arrow parked up blocking one lane so all traffic is filtering past it to one lane - guess what they were working on then? Any ideas? No erm well nowt! A couple of blokes stood having a chat off the road with a mini digger - so no actual work on the road I know safety is paramount but if your working off the road why block the road! Bonus ball - once on M56 traffic dog slow - no accidents anywhere - some geezers car broken down on hard shoulder so everyone has to rubber neck - then M60 Cheadle - my favourite motorway section - again walking pace - M60 anti- clockwise - trouble 'at mill on M62 junction so of course M60 effected - anyway to cut a long story short - get to Sunny Bury in darkenss at 19:00 - got to be a better way of making a living! If your a terrorist scumbag no need to kill anyone if you want to stuff up this country just stop your car on any motorway - walk away and the network is stuffed! Joy ! Just think this would have cost me in fuel if I had my Zed?? Diesel is your friend - well maybe , well ok maybe in this case! Rant over apologies everyone!
  19. No one knows whos's it is - my grapevine has let me down! Looks mint though? M56 also about 7:30ish East bound - guessing it was you Squarehead - seen it a few days now - which means I am late for work then!
  20. Thanks Martin and steve_b - I will Pm you later for more info if thats ok? Ok lets see how much the stealers will give me for the Ditchfinder- now renamed to Chipfinder!! Bleedin rock hit the screen last night and left a lovely bullet hole - yet more time and expense!
  21. sounds good - my time off worked is booked but I hav'nt booked anywhere to stay yet - fancy goining central france- stay over somewhere every few days of so then to South Coast then back up the West coast Brittany and back home - booked just over 2 weeks for that lot? Any ideas or suggestions for Camping and Git's maybe? Personal recommendations ideally ?? Thanks
  22. Thanks goodness for that - thanks That would have been a major show stopper for me - other than insurance being stupid - must be my postcode I think - anyway found the car I want just need to get a few things in place first - where's the nearest bank to rob!
  23. A top film but a bit sad for mothers day is'nt it? I was almost welling up at the end! You see your mistake there your mum should live in this country with your son and you should live in France enjoying Zed cruising and fine wine - obviously not at the same time!
  24. Yikes - you drive to Uni in a Zed? - Uni=work or Uni = student? Crickey they pay well in Glasgow - any more jobs going?
