Think I am becoming a grumpy old git before I am old! Spending about 13 hours a week on the motorways I am noticing more and more frequent stupid selfish aggressive behaviour !! What is it with people? Common examples I am sure you will recognise? If you miss your slip road - dont back up over the chevrons - drive to next exit? If you change your mind and decide to stay on the motorway even though your halfway to driving off the slip road - dont cut across everyone (across chevrons again) into the line of a wagon - that has to jump on the anchors then scare the sh** out of everyone else nearby? I am sure my aftershave really is'nt the best in the world and I am probably not the best looking bloke in the Universe - so why do you want to see how close you can get to my back bumper even though I am driving fast enough? Vauhaull Corsas are not faster than Zeds - dont even bother just take your beanie cap off and let some air get to your single brain cell! Nice to have: You let someone out - a thank you wave would be nice? I know thats a lot to ask for! I have to say Mr BMW driver is not the worst w****r on the road anymore? I would say -(Generalising here of course) Merc owners - usually the C class? Black Range rover sports Renault Espace - they drive em like they are invincible! Merc Sprinter vans ! Faster than a GT-R!!! BMW's Nissan Navarra pickups What do you think? Any more to add to the hall of shame?

Hi mines an boggo 07 313bhp roadster I am getting on average about 425 miles to a tank and it costs me about £65 ish to fill a tank so far Once it hits the reserve when the light comes on I can do about 48miles I found this out this week for the first time - this is mostly motorway driving, 70% with a bit of A roads and country lanes thrown in - some thrashing once in a while. Hope this helps? Stan

But its worth a mention - I am sure they could find out which cab it was - if you remember the time and location (if no reg number) Plus if you mentioned about the smell of booze?? Or maybe if nothing else logging an incident with Police - if this guy has other incidents already logged aginst him in the past then they may look into it? Worth asking anyway ? As we said if the guy is drink driving a cab - well its a no brainer is'nt it??

warning re: new computer virus i've just had
stanski replied to nixy's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Well spotted Nixy The troubel with a lot of big name virus checkers - its takes them ages to run tests etc in their labs then distribute to their download servers etc etc etc - the geek sites tend to spot this pretty sharpish ! -
Neil Really sorry about the seat - you say its just the seat base?? In a previous life I used to be a coach trimmer (i.e use to fit out interiors of car and vans - upholstery etc etc ) a standard leather hide - single piece usully costs £100 each - so all the other cost is just labour - i.e stripping down seat , remaking etc etc etc - is there any chance you can show a picture of it in the meantime so we can see how bad it is?? You would be surprised how much can be patch repaired instead of a full recover? Good thing about the Nissan seats (ha did I say good?) is that they are styled in a contoured shape etc so if its just damage in one section - you can either repair that bit or sew in a replacement patch just repairing that section not the whole seat - cost is less and its quicker - a good coachtrimmer will do this so well you will not notice that it was ever replaced - trouble is I have been out of the game for so long I dont know any good ones anymore - I still have a good supplier though of materials in Manchester? PM me if you have any questions I may be able to advise? But pictures please?? Hope this helps? Stan

I would report it to the Police never mind the taxi firm - trouble these idiots get away with it! Worry more about killing someone if they were boozing and driving! Manchester Evening News delivery van drivers and Toyota Avensis taxis (usually X reg's) are the worst drivers on the planet but seem to have diplomatic immunity!

Monday - GM coupe - we flashed and waved (Flave?) middle of Hawarden M**** private plate All week -1, silver, 2x GM coupe's Eastbound M56, (Flave today with 1) 1x Black Ragtop probably 08 - looked new. Wales is Zed Central I think by default! Think Stuey is still hiding his Black number though not seen it after all this time? Squarehead - I think I have seen your Azure rocket a few times but maybe its your opposite double? You still need to seek and destroy!

I would'nt worry something tells me the 350Z wont lose any of its fans and will become (if not already) a future classic ! I hope to keep mine anyway - as long as the roadtax does'nt become as high as the fuel bills for 12 months!!

` I love it up there - Skye bridge was fun in a tall Pathfinder last few times - I dont like heights!! We have the same rules about poaching Black puddings - but the damn things run across the fields and in front of your car so you have to be careful ! There nothing like the taste of freshly poached Haggis though September eh - hmm will have to put some time aside for that - Top stuff cant wait. Scotland here we come ......
-
Cant wait for the pics Stew! Its fab up there - we stay in Skye and Aultbie a lot. Hey maybe a Zed Haggis safari in th'ills can be organised (or is there an annual run out up there already?)

My neighbour thought I was bad before but now he definitely thinks I am obsessed with washing the Zed!! Which I am, I hate it looking dirty - which is usually 10 minutes after driving anywhere! I like the idea of getting a summer set of alloys such as yours btw. Priorities though! Off to look at VW t4 van again next weekend - jobs left to do - Zed honeymoon period will be over soon back to real life! Baaaa Incidentally Costco has 4 wash mitts for £8 and pack of 24 microfibre clothes for £7 - bargain - real convert to them after reading forum detailing section - thanks guys good info.

I cant remember if it was DFS or one of the other big named shops but - hunt around BBC watchdogs site - one of them had gone bust - took everyones money never delivered the goods and opened again under a new name!! Dont hand over all the cash up front! B*****rds! Be careful - Try ILVA in Manchester they have some top sofas and reasonably priced - got my eye on 2 leather numbers but since I got a Zed the money is'nt there for them - Doh!! http://www.ilva.co.uk/

Thanks Guys. Had a proper shuftie this morning in the sun (yes real sunshine!) The window appears to be operating correctly (well compared to passenger side) there was a damp patch bottom of drivers seat - lowest spot in the floor I guess - so I had to buy yes yes wait for it - a hairdrier this morning!!! There happy now coupe owners! Anyway as that was being dried out I wiped down and reseated all the seals along the roof and door /sill area - I am begining to think that this may be a Heron Rouge?? Maybe there is water getting in elsewhere from underneath? Anyway had a good look around all over the shop and all appears to be fitted correctly and in line that I can see? So its all dry now lets see what the next rain shower brings - its so tricky tracing this kind of fault - I would rather do it myself than some Stealer as they just never refit trim properly and its always scratched or covered in oily marks? After this fun decided to cheer myself up and remember why I got this car so sun shining roof off - country lanes with just a jumper on (* I also had jeans on etc just in case you were wondering!! ) and side windows down - boy that heater is ace! Bonus left an S2000 for dead caned it from standstill up a hill, took him ages to catch up - he he he (toy car!!) Because its an ex demo the paint has been washed to an inch of its life so can see those swirl marks in the sun a lot Phase 2 maybe to polish and clay bar and do the full monty but then again its a daily driver and the front bumper is already spotty faced so is it worth the hassle?

Top Stuff - well done Do you recon Nissan Japan actually know how poor the service is in UK ?? Well done again happy new erm topless motoring soon?
-
We exchanged a flash and wave I was in Night Blue ragtop with roof off - nice to see a Zed on this side of the M6!! Too fast to see a number plate. I had been stuck behind a tractor for 3 miles to say I was ready to cane it past at the first safe opportunity was an understatement - boy is this car a rocket!
-
Thanks for that Martin thats good to know Just popped outside to double check? The window does slide up automatically after the door is closed - the same height as the passenger one - so I think that bit appears to be okay Dont get this on the passenger side?? I wonder when its been raining and you open the door to get in and close the door - the glass is wet,as the rubber spills its collected water hence any further water has a free channel to run down inside the glass??? Well its up for its first service so will book it in next week - its still under warranty I will get the Stealer children to look at it - maybe the rubber is offset slightly and not sealing as well as it should?? Or the glass is not set in its runner correctly??? Its the Drivers door side that I sometimes get a slight rattle? Maybe something is'nt fitted correctly? Thanks again Martin - have you managed to sell that GM roadster yet? Or will you give up and buy it yourself?

Gentlemen - it may be less hassle to just hire the Welsh Fire brigade and borrow one of their tenders for the day!! Just give em 50p for Charity per car and we are sorted!! Cheaper than Albanians! On another note I'm sure this would get the Zed Girls interested - you know firemen with big hoses and all that sort of thing! he he he
-
Well done matey - good luck with it - nice colour that my fallback choice! (Got a Night Blue) Dont worry about the time it will pass before you know it - stay on the forum and search for obscure threads - that will pass the time!!

Why in 2008 they still cant make Roadsters that dont dribble water down the inside door window and drip all over your electrical door switch gear (what a stupid place for them) and down into that little pointless plastic tray at side of drivers seat? Well its not a pointless tray its a water drip collector . Sorry I'm sure this has already been mentioned elsewhere but what a pain - the carpet is a bit wet at lowest point behind drivers seat - I just think its the steady drip from the roof rubber that butts up against the window - of course when it rains all that collected water has no where to go but down inside the window glass as soon as you open the door- Even Toyota made a better job of this than Nissan! Of course mine lives outside so whats the plan now - dry the rubber and glass before locking up at night to stop any rogue water dribbles - of course longer term this will not help the floorpan will it? Does anyone else have this same problem?? Other than parking in a garage any top tips? Thanks Soggy Stanski

F***** disgraceful behaviour!!! I really feel for you!! I think if NMGB dont want to do this for free under warranty - I would see a solicitor and take them to small claims court maybe - at least see a solicitor they are telling you to get lost even though its a warranty job - other option is to write to watchdog on BBC 1 - its worth a shot - mate of mine did it once with problems on his Audi and it worked they got shamed into doing it ! Free!! Good luck - dont get mad get even!

Nixy - that sounds like your divertor valve is not working correctly - my mum has the same problem. You will have to turn the upstairs rads off in summer unfortunately until you get your new boiler - let us know how you get on - as I said Worcester-Bosch - worth the extra money! On another note if you must have granite worktops - go for the ones that are the thin (veneer if you will) type - where they fit on top of your existing worktops - its granite but thinner so its bound to be lighter? Finally got my boiler to work - £340 lighter! So now I have to work this weekend to get my money back - first weekend I wanted off work!! There's not much left to replace now I could have got a new boiler for this money? End result: Thermostat replaced Divertor value seized - replaced Fan seized - replaced Pilot activator switch - replaced Boiler fires up like a Zed but still trips out if thermo switch set above 3/4 gut feel the water pump is on its way out (which was replaced the day we moved in - sounds a bit grumbly - but I can get and fit those myself) So need to get bleeding the system tonight still has air in it somewhere - which is fun! Baxi Solo 3 - just say no -
Lil Red Rooster Grey Coupe Azure Coupe near weaver viaduct with black coupe behind it Whatever wax you lot are using I want some !!
