The Euro looks ok but this is also a possibility: http://www.more-japan.com/bride-xax-ii-reclinable-seat-black-leather-mesh.html These are better (ok, cheaper too) but a bit cheap looking. They may be dull but at least they doesn't have the almost ubiquitous 4-point harness holes. http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/brand/corbeau-seats/corbeau-sportline-reclining-sport-seats/corbeau-seats-gts-reclining-sport-seat/prod_850.html http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/brand/corbeau-seats/corbeau-sportline-reclining-sport-seats/corbeau-seats-gtb-reclining-sport-seat/prod_848.html http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/brand/cobra-seats/cobra-reclining-sport-seats/cobra-seats-le-mans-reclining-sport-seat/prod_462.html I didn't realise quite hwo hard this was going to be. I don't want a race seat, just a comfy seat. Maybe I need wooden bead covers instead

There do seem to be a lot of bucket seats with four point harness fixings out there. Not really my style any more. Hmmm... the Bride Brix looks pretty good

I'm toying with the idea of replacing my black leather seats as I do a lot of long journeys and find them not as comfortable as they could be, mainly the seat bottom lip pressing into the side of the buttock and sending it numb but also I find the seat back rolls my shoulders. They aren't the worst but they aren't the best either. Just think of the weight saving too Ideally I would still like something understated so no rally seats, but something comfy that still holds me in the bends would be nice. Cloth is fine. Oh, and preferably a bolt-on change if that isn't asking too much. I'm tall and slim if that makes any difference. Anyone got any tasteful suggestions for seats?

The closed loop system will work on an average over the cylinders that a lambda is looking at. This means the air/fuel ration can differ slightly across whatever bank(s) the lambda(s) is/are 'sniffing'. For the Z, matching up the air/fuel ration more evenly across all cylinders - or in particular making sure that the more air-starved front cylinders are getting a fair share - will make the engine more efficient with each cylinder getting the best mixture that the ecu map allows for, and so hopefully more powerful. The ecu won't make any adverse adjustments as the closed loop system still sees exactly the same parameters. Getting a better fuel/air ratio where it is currently inefficient will always give better power. Getting more air into slightly starved front cylinders will do this for you. Of course whether it's a noticeable amount is another thing and the remap is always going to be the way to go to get the best from an engine that is working efficiently. However, IMO it does make a small difference even without a mapping. Regarding thermal gaskets, anything that stops part of your engine dealing with air volume getting hot is great, but as T-R says, you might stop heat-soak for a little while but its a hot area of the engine and you are n a losing battle. If it costs the same money then stick on a thermal gasket, but if it costs more IMO don't bother. T-R, yes heated throttle body is for emission control to warm it up faster in cold weather. I agree with you that disabling it won't do anything much for power, and certainly nothing noticeable to the driver. A much, much more useful idea is to get a decent cold air feed in the first place.

I'm afraid I am responsible for killing one of those 260Z's

That's because it's downhill on the way to Essex, and uphill back I always use v-power though

I saw a white Leaf today and was intrigued by the front badge which was a nice electric blue. I know we like Z badges on the forum rather than the Nissan-burgers (I have them too) but does anyone thing this would be a good replacement on a white, or even Azure Z? I'm struggling to find a decent picture but googled these... http://www.reuters.com/article/2009/11/13/us-nissan-leaf-idUSTRE5AC4VC20091113

Jeez, I need a lie down after that

Double- By the way, did you ever solve 'Lady Pardon'? I find talking like the Queen works a bit better but only when stationary as any road noise ruins it. I have one emergency number in it (home) so no matter what I say it will dial it. It's quite refreshing as you can say 'dial &*%#! you #@%^&' and it always seems to get it right Best of luck with the repairs. You will find something you don't like, it's inevitable, but if it's just dust then take the car, it's the best you are going to get!

Mine looks like it is made out of 100KG of pig iron.

Neil's advice is excellent. If you feel it is hard to get this across to your dad, write it down and send it to him. It is sometimes easier to initially absorb from a letter than in a face-to-face, more emotionally charged situation. Don't write an epic and do let your partner read it through first to get another opinion as to whether you have made you point but not sounded over accusatory - then go visit or call him. Good luck mate, it's tough when someone shifts their issues onto you, and very tough when one it's a loved one.

if you could change one event in history...

Should never have had sex with that... oh wait, actually that was fun No regrets, never regret anything as there is sod all you can do about it. Just learn (and apologise where appropriate). On my personal side I would change the point where I quit Ju-Jitsu as I'm sure it would have made me more confident earlier in life - either that or beaten up a lot. World-wise, changing the point where Dolphins forgot to speak our language. I reckon it would be handy for Man to have a representative for the oceans to talk to (although we would have probably gone to war with them by now). Dolphins are very horny animals so blokey chats would have been interesting, too. Oh, and stop the invention of the wheel. Now THAT would be a history changer -
Dear God, the horror

I'm on 110K now and it still has 284 bhp (dynoed to prove it). Only the usual consumables and one wheel bearing replaced Well, unless yo count the uprated bits but they were by choice rather than necessity High mileage never puts me off providing they are in good condition for body and interior and have a service history. Motorway miles do a car more good than stop-start of a few hundred miles a month.

No its definatly not a humming/buzzing. If you can imagine a loose washer around a bolt vibrating, that's what I would say it sounds like. Does anyone know if you can remove the rubber thing under the gaiter that is cover in cotton wool like stuff? Again does anyone know how to tighten the gearstick not the gearknob? Thanks Nothing special, literally grab the knob and twist it tighter. If this is the problem you will be able to turn it by hand. If it doesn't move then don't take any tools to it as hand power is enough to tighten it, you don't want to break anything. Worst comes to the worst it isn't the hardest job to drop the box on these cars if you have to, but equally if you take the gaitors and trim off you may be able to access the selector mechanism from the top? Dunno, that's one more for the people who have done it

Mk1 Ford escort. Great car but a bit rusty. I remember driving home one night and hearing a scraping noise on the road, stopped and the sill had rusted through and was dragging on the road. I just ripped it off and chucked it over a hedge (in those days littering was fun and trendy, not a hanging offence). Needless to say it didn't pass the next MOT.
