  1. Sounds like something a donor car could contribute for you. Alex could probably supply all the parts cheaper, although it wouldn't help you with the time to repair. These things don't go wrong very often and if you are a diy man it's usually sorted with a soldering iron on a dry joint, or even a good hairdryer (common trick for faulty graphics cards in computer).
  2. Frequently get 4 tyres in mine. There are few ways
  3. Good skills... just shows how long I've been out of the game. The last time I was single no one my age was married! I like to consider myself professionally single, lol. The ring finger is within the 3 first boxes checked Is it just me or is that a bit rude? I may have friday smutty head on but someone out there might be in tune with my juvenile fnarrs.
  4. They don't all get smaller. Eye watering...
  5. I'm not sure from this if you are saying the gearbox oil was changed or not, but if it was and it wasn't genuine Nissan oil you will get all sorts of horrid noises - no matter how good you think the replacement oil is, it just doesn't work like the Nissan oil.

Because I don't want a prospective thief knowing how to take my car out of valet mode and then being able to drive away the easy way. Aha! fair enough

Why PM? Can't you say here?
  8. I hear its a common fault to have the gasket go which lets oil into the spark plug hole. The oil woudl have got on the plug as you took it out. Mine have been leaking for the last years (yes really) but its expensive and a pain to change them so I ignore it and the oil loss is so minor its imperceptable.
  9. Um, looks a bit silly really . Fun as a one-off but it doen't look all that exciting after you've done it once.
  10. I've had three different Y-pipes with my lovely exhaust ( btw), East Coast Racing, Janspeed and Cobra, and every one has had a drone at that rev range. Can be annoying when you want to accelerate and can't be bothered to change gear as the sound levels get very boomy, but you get used to it.
  11. How are they with mods?
  12. Mine always blows a flexi a week before the mot
  13. Not racing on the streets, but it would be nice to get in front of white van man in a sports car and not have him giving you the wan***er sign out the window. Yeah, I can see that might sting a bit after just buying it.
  14. Blimey, a perfect answer and nothing else to be said. First time I've seen a thread-locking answer on post #2 I should get out more.
  15. Its a GT - that means its a powerful cruiser and build for comfort. Up to 25mph most little nippy cars (or vans) will keep up, after that the longer legs will leave them behind. Oh and like the other comments, leave off the traction control for a better start. But really, racing on the streets? Not that good an idea anyway.
  16. In a big 4x4 they may barely have noticed they did that. Always park as far away as possible, people are lazy and lazy often equals big, and the bigger they are the wider they open their doors. Or, park next to something posher than your car, then they have more to lose Seriously though, tough break but at least you have some handy connections.
  17. As I never tire of saying, 143K on mine and its still a cracker. Just replaced the rear diff bushes and its like a new car If there is a full service history then high miles is not a problem. (mine has an impecable service history but I'm not selling ) Welcome and good luck
  18. As everyone says, these are tough V6 engines and they run and run. I'm on 130K+ now and she pulls like a train . The only work has been regular servicing and cosumables and some wheel bearings. Everything else I added at my own choice.
  19. I've got a decent Janspeed used one off my 04 plate with the stainless steel piping in good condition but with the flexis gone. You can pick up flexis for about £15 each and have them welded in. http://www.clampcouk...ible-pipes.html Yes its a fuss and bother but the man who makes an effort saves a bundle
  20. Looks fine, but why go for a flip when you have practically got a garden fork and spade on your keyring already?
  21. Mods, probably best to close this now if you don't mind. I think 3 people in the queue is enough!
  22. As you can see its not a showcar standard but its perfectly functional. Prepare for a new world of wind-down-that-window sound and a snappy throttle! This has been used happily for 40K miles so will need a re-oil if not immediately then in 10K as manufacturer recommends. Easy to get and easy to apply, K&N and powerflow both do kits for about £10 case you wondered, the wavy line you can see in the filter in one shot isn't damage, it's how it came out the box, a cosmetic manufacturers kink in the mesh and if you are that bothered about it rotate the filter so it points downwards. It makes no diffierence to the functiona at all. Looks kinda nice in the flesh. Cost is £60 delivered. A half-price bargain
  23. And the air intake affects the sound too: standard, hi-flow filter, cone filter (pop charger) etc.
  24. Here we go, some pics. As you can see its not a showcar standard but its perfectly functional. In case you wondered, the wavy line yu can see in the filter in one shot isn't damage, it's how it came out the box, a cosmetic manufacturers kink in the mesh and if you are that bothered about it rotate the filter so it points downwards. Prepare for a new world of sound and a snappy throttle! Incidentally, if you don't want it that is fine as someone else has already put in a request - but you get first dibs.
