  1. Brilliant, thanks Mate - purchased
  2. Can anyone recommend a simple code reader that will fit my 04 Z? I would like to use it for other vehicles too (wife has a RAV4, friend has a Subaru, Alfas etc). I know little about the connections and something cheap is preferable as i'll only use it occassionally. Anyone have any recommendations? BTW, one reason is I keep getting a ECU light on and reading the flashes drives me potty as I count them differently every time I think its the lambda or maf as both are getting pretty old now but would like to know for sure.
  3. I recommend the stainless steel ones. very heavy and look lovely.
  4. I saw in another thread someone mentioning their KW variant 3 shocks being re-gassed. My variant 1 have been on for some time and are not that hot anymore, so is re-gassing really an option to get them back to nearly new operation, or is it more likely they are simply worn out and have to be replaced? I have to admit I always thought shocks simply wore out - either the valving or some other part - I didn't think they could be revitalised.
  5. What are you replacing it with? Must be either stock to sell the car or something epic! That's a £800 exhaust when new.
  6. Looks a bit like mine but i have blue tips (ok thats just for show) and no bung option. Very well made and a steal atthat price. Mine has done mega-miles and no rot anywhere i.e the welds are very good quaility
  7. There has to be a better way to say this.
  8. To be fair, its probably worth a test drive and a sniff around, looks quite genuine (to my untrained eye)
  9. I've got a v6 so have i got two cambelts?
  10. Window motor - will test should be fine but the doors bent so need to check Let me know on the bit underneath I've looked through the manuals and I can't find it. Its visible on the manual section about prop shaft and thats all i can find. Its a long, flat v-shape piece of stamped (?) metal that bridges the tunnel. Mine is excessively rusty to the point where the annoying MOT guy put it on the advisory - even though he didn't know what it was either. Could be a structural body brace, could be something that stops the exhaust or prop hitting the ground if it falls off. If anyone know then I'd love to find out. I defo need the o/s window motor so dibs please if it works To be fair, even if it doesn't a cheap broken one might be ok as I can knick the brushes. I'd rather have a good one though.
  11. It's horrible quality! you can see for even the poor picture supplied that its very roughly cut around the edges. The description makes it pretty clear its a garage hobbiest job so if people pay that much for them they really only have themselves to blame.
  12. Knock a few hundrew off for that red leather interior
  13. Passenger window motor, and I also want a bit of metal off the bottom of the car but can't think how to describe it. I'll have a think about that.

    Gearknob

Ah, I'm too late with a KTA recommendation then... Fabulous knob
  15. "Also, this has only been tested on average adults.. I'm 5-4 and she's 5-6." That's average? Useless guide!
  16. I'd guess at slightly seized rear piston as the root coause but could it be as simple as inside brake pad worn down to nothing?
  17. On a true dual isn't that 4" so still better than a single pipe? Not your point I know but its still useabel isn't it?
  18. Logically you could swicth that 180 degrees by shortening the intake pipe, then have a more direct - even a bifucating - feed to the plenum. How does this design even out the intake pressure between cylinders? It looks like the air delivery would be uneven, and with such a large plenum area does it suffer from positive or negative pressure? Maybe the Z isn't that fussy and works fine but this sort of design must make a difference to how the throttle behaves.
  19. Its £500 job including parts nears as damn it. Main worry would be if they were cheapskates and didn't change the flywheel at the same time as it sound like your clutch is completely knackered and once they get that far worn they damage the flywheel faceplate. If you can get them to pay then great, otherwise yes go for zmanalex exedy fly and clutch with new release bearing and pay a decent garage to do it in 3-4 hours.
  20. Hi, nice purchase and nice colour. Sound like the normal rumble. Wait until you get the modification bug and fit an fit an aftermarket clutch with fixed flywheel, the rumble becomes a rattle and although it sounds worrying it really isn't the sign of anything wrong.
  21. I've got one of those and its great, but I have to say I'd rather buy it from Zmanalex as if you are unfortunate enough to need any advice and assistance its the aftersales that counts. My slightly over-sized crank end was a real problem but he was a rock and was happy to speak to the garage to assist. Since then I would not buy anything like this or genuine parts anywhere else (to be fair and equal, CS did me a nice Cobra Y-pipe though)
  22. Put the aircon on and it will idle higher. Not a solution but stops it trying to stall. I'd suggest you have a dirty throttle body and a clean of that and a reset should do the trick. Its the cheapest option so worth doing first. After that you may have worn plugs, are they due for changing?
