Mr Drain, something obviously went down the wrong way -
I my DE Although the uprev probably helps. And the oil never needs topping up between changes.

Depend if you feel you can 'let it go' or not. It's probably healthier for your blood pressure to take it on the chin but if you really can't I'd say the bleeping was a good defence. Record it (and record it LOUD) so you can play it back in court. Where exactly did they tail and stop you? That's more for my knowledge as I drive the length of that road all the time. I know where they hide on the dual carriageway to stop speeders which is fair enough, also where they hide on the military road.

...or parked it somewhere dodgy

I had a 260z and loved it, and never forgot it when it had gone. About 10-12 years ago a 350z import in shiny ginger drove past me and I twigged there was a modern replacement. From then on I wanted one.

This guy is either very brave or a total idiot.

Don't think we need a poll for this one. I'm surprised he wasn't outright shot. -
I'll be the first to mention it then - collapsed CAT? They can crumble and move around and block the exhaust. Whip the exhaust off and shine a torch up it's fundamentals and see if you spot anything odd. Not at all connected but I do happen to have some spares. I was going to put them in the for sale but haven't got around to it yet.

Coudl it be a 'normal' gearbox rattle at idle? Normal if you have a solid flywheele anyway.

Quite. Much less stressy to say, 'no they are not original but mine is'. BTW, It's interesting but I can't see the picture at work and don't know what BNIB means . I can see they are available for £20 new so presume yours is new?

Mines near 100K on an aftermarket lightened fly. But I can't give exact miles until I get home.and look at the receipts. Damn! My old Alfa V6 managed to go to to a shade off 200K miles but the clutch was in a right old state. http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-147-156-and-gt/55302-new-clutch-on-my-v6.html

Forgot the Nuthatch. Its all very well them feeding their greedy beaks, they don't seem to like the nesting boxes so when full they all bugger off! -
Through Kitchen window, on the bird feeders Greenfinches Chaffinches one Robin Blue tits Great tits (and I thing a coal tit but it flew off to quickly) an entire posse of Goldfinches a Blackbird some Starlings a lesser-spotted Woodpecker a pair of Redpolls A female red squirrel Strangely the sparrows have not arrived yet but maybe it's too early. There are so many I like to try and identify them. My other half calls them either 'brown' or 'budgies' This is a pretty standard day but still great to see. I guess they like the food on offer!

i want a zed so bad.,...(please advise)

Yes, chances are that the dual-mass flywheel will be on the way out. If not then sods law says it will give up not long after you change the clutch. Get a solid flywheel as its cheaper and it makes the car more responsive. Downside is a little 'chatter' at low revs but its only a noise and not a problem. Rev pickup is much better. . Your budget is ok but then 'wasting' it by going for the lowest mileage defeats the point. Don't be afraid of high miles, you won't be spending any more to fix any niggles and you have more for all the fun bits you will want to get. -
NO.you are spoiling my chance of getting a badge.

Buying a high mileage V engined car should not be a concern. A high-miler will probably be a motorway cruiser. That is less stressful on the car than town driving in many ways, and also on the all important gearbox. Speaking from experience, I'm on 160K and the same clutch has been on for about the last 100K and it's fine. Even so if buying high miler I'd say have £1 - 1.5K in the bank for a clutch and the other bits and bobs that you discover you need, but that's the same for any Z really. Either that or be prepared to fix all the niggles over a longer period. Don't forget many replacement parts can be bought as second hand. Apart from brakes (which also don't wear out fast on a motorway miler) and the usual tyres and service parts, new parts I have replaced are 3 wheel bearings so listen for grumbles and rumbles when going round a corner. A little transmission whine is normal even on low mileage cars so take that in your stride, but whines from the gearbox are not so good. Most other major bits I changed were because I wanted after-market parts, not because they needed to be changed. I've also replaced a few suspension parts and bushes but its never been anything that expensive. But drive the car slowly on the roughest road you can find and listen for a drumming sound someone described best as like a piece of plywood flapping against the floor. This could be the banana arm which doesn't have to be replaced - i.e. it's not dangerous - but its is a loud and annoying noise. On any Z it's worth checking for as I think it is about £300 to replace (does someone have a more accurate price) which isn't great if both sides need doing. Exhaust flex-pipes may be knackered so have a look underneath when the engine is running and you should be able to feel any blowing (if your arms are a decent length). Check the o/s rear tyre. It will be the one with the most wear and will dictate when you need to buy more tyres so is a bargaining point. You want two keys. If not then £100 discount should be asked for as they are not cheap. The judgement to make is how many owners it has had, how many bills and service stamps they have and basically if it looks like they loved it. Ideally buy one from a forum member who has been around for a while so you can have a little more trust that it's a good car. -
Some sort of 350Z based car too ..and Blue

I had a similar PCN from Parking Eye, ironically when parking at Sunderland Eye Hospital. After checking on the web I sent this letter and received one back saying they would "let me off on this occasion". Ticket number: xx Vehicle registration number: xx You issued me with a parking ticket on 15/10/2012 and although not on the Parking on Private Land Appeals list of grounds for appeal I believe the ticket was unfairly issued and I will not be paying your demand for payment for the following reason : The fee is disproportionate According to the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contract Regulations, parking charges on private land must not exceed the cost to the landowner during the period the motorist is parked there. In my case, the £40 (and then £70) charge you are asking for far exceeds the maximum cost to the landowner of £2.00. If you choose to pursue me please be aware that I will not enter into any correspondence and this will be the only letter you will receive from me until you answer the specific point raised in my letter.
