  1. So glad I found this thread! Just removed a couple of litres of water from passenger footwell. Seems the trigger for this issue was moving house - my old drive was sloped up from the house, new drive slopes down, so when I reverse on, the back is higher than the front. Just need to get the lights off!
  2. I'm not a fan of side mounted spoilers so I say the first one!
  3. Right, might be a case of changing them over again then. How much do you do those for?
  4. Sorry to resurrect a done and dusted thread, but it seemed like the right place to ask... I've just replaced by gearbox and diff oils with oils recommended by Opie (Fuchs TITAN GEAR SYN for gearbox and Silkolene BOA 80W-90 for diff). I did ask about the GL4/GL5 thing with the gearbox oil and apparently the things in GL5 additives which used to corrode the yellow metals aren't used any more so I was told it was absolutely fine for the 350Z. Anyway, since the change, when cold, first and second gear are really difficult to get into, second sometimes being virtually inaccessible, and the diff has developed a whine. It could be coming from the gearbox, but it eases when cornering so the diff seemed a more likely candidate. Both are fine when warmed up a bit, but I never had either problem before. The oil that came out of the gearbox and diff were both pretty clean and there were no filings in the diff oil or round the plug. Do oils take time to 'bed in' or have I simply been lied to about the oils I needed?! Cheers.
  5. Rear tyres need to be taller than the fronts. Something to do with the traction control. Apparently it'll keep kicking in at random if they're all the same height!
  6. Hi all, we're currently running a competition I thought would be of interest. You have a chance to win one of five pairs of public day tickets to the Autosport International show at the NEC, Birmingham in January, saving yourself up to £60. Full details on MSportUK.com Competition closes 3rd January 2011 so get in quick and remember to include all your details!
  7. Quick update if anyone's following the progress... Spoke to both Husky and a helpful tech at Nissan HPC Oxford who gave me a list of fuses/relays (74, 86, 72, 71, 78, 76) within the Intelligent Power Delivery Module (IPDM - fusebox to you and me) which could be responsible. To get to this you have to remove the battery cover, then the plastic around the battery cover, then the plastic around that. Eventually got to the box - all the fuses were fine, and none of the relays were labelled, not even numbered. Both the bloke in Oxford and Husky have never come across the problem before which is the story of my life with this car, and there's no information anywhere that even mentions that the lights should have auto-levelling. As such, I have recently acquired a PH2/250mm screwdriver which fits down the little hole to the adjustment screws and I'm going to turn it until the man at the garage gives me an MOT, then I'm going to pretend the car never had the stupid, pointless system in the first place! If anyone stumbles across a solution or a decent IPDM diagram in the future, do let me know! Cheers
  8. That's great if it actually worked! Any idea if there's a fuse for the adjuster? I can't find any useful info online about it.
  9. My Z just failed its MOT because the lights are too low. The guy was jiggling the assembly on the rear anti-roll bar, but the lights weren't moving. Reckon this just needs the ref point adjusted or is it likely that the adjuster itself is knackered? Is there a fuse for the adjuster motor? Dunno why they couldn't just put a little switch in the dash like the good old days. How difficult is it for people to just move a switch?!
  10. Pretty sure that's where I got mine from. The battery clip isn't the best in the world and the cable coatings aren't looking as bright as they once did (after 1.5years), but I did notice a difference with it on. Not sure about improved throttle response or anything like that, but when pulling away from junctions, particularly when cold, there was a bit of a stutter. It was something that I'd got completely used to as a trait of the car but it was really noticeable by its absence once the kit went on. Much smoother at low revs and when cold. Piece of cake to stick on too, and for £40, why not?!
  11. Followed a silver Fairlady Z on the A441 towards Redditch this morning. MIB number plate! Anyone on here?
  12. That's a proper interior! More pics with the stickers on please!!
  13. That was my first thought - big big of American iron would rip through the new one. How wrong!
  14. Have I missed something? Does this thread relate to another one? Is somebody selling cheap carbon pillar covers, and if so, how much and can I see them?! Edit: Ah, ok, found it! Could be interested at the right price!
