-
That's it then I'm having one on your twos say so
Have been doing alot of reading up and not really hearing any bad reviews apart from the coating could be a little to slippery
Any ideas on a stem was looking hope, Thomson or maybe even rental if they do a 70mm, think I'm prity much sorted in the bars department ..... carbon Easton haven ones
How your DMR vaults doing Andy?
-
Been doing some reading up on fox rear shox, now even though the five comes with one off the most standard rear shocks the float RL I quite liked the shock (when I test rode the bike) as it had the lockout function which near enough made it feel like a hard tail, perfect for climbing. The deal I was looking at included the kashima coated RP23 now this being there top of the line rear shock (which I'm getting for the same money) makes me think I'd be daft not to have it but ...... I'm just worried that without the full lockout function that I really liked on tge standard shock the bike may 'wallow' abit on the climbes, any of you guys had any experiences with the kashima coated shock?
Or is possible to get fox to raise the internal pressure setting so It feels locked out like the RL in pro pedal setting?
3rd position on the pro pedal is virtually lockout anyway. It's fine for climbing.
The new rp23 kashima is different Andy the old rp23's are tuneable with pro pedal on, the new version works the other way round, you tune how plush you want it open, 0 full 1 slightly firmer 2 firmer a little more.

That's only ever at the bottom of a hill so not much good there either
-
Don't have time for taking action pictures, when we hit the downhills just dialed in on riding it as hard and fast as possible
-
Well had a great ride out today on the five around four hours and it felt fantastic climbed and fired down descents even better it's just a case of finalising the spec now
-
Hmm making me think now and that's another bloody £100 option for the gamut one
-
O right, don't know to much about the workings thought you had a slightly larger rings, any pics off yours Andy?
This is always an option Chris if you want to keep the 3 rings
-
Yeah I'd like to try it Chris just to see how is cope with it, I'm swaying towards that but then not sure as it is a pink tinge and is the standard colour on the five diva
-
Yes Chris running a 3 x 10 like the idea of a 2 x 10 and chain device buy dont know wether my legs could cope with it in the peaks, spec is about sorted for what I want now just te bloody decision on colour iv prity much decided on the White gold theme now, just to decide which
White cloud on left White cherry on the right
-
Well got the demo bike loaded up ready for a good test in the peak
-
When you live in the mini alps in my eyes 140mm is must have, a mate of mine runs a cotic hardtail with 100mm and always said it was enough then a month ago he had a spacer but in so there 120mm now he's looking for some 140mm
-
Not a fan of that orange then Chris
-
The orange is only 140mm travel though wouldn't want anyless than that after the revelations with 150mm travel on the Marin try felt 'right' and got me out of the odd but off trouble
There's that many nice bike out there if a bloody hard decision and as soon as you think you've made your mid up something else pops up
But with the spec below think 'bang for buck' your getting alot I'd just have the maxle upgrade put on and but a set off DMR vaults to go on and it would be perfect!! ( maybe just get a gold hope stem and swap the bars to )
-
Are we spending some £ andy, or is it for fran? Isnt that a lady remedy the lush?? Do like the remedy's but think the five and zesty just have the edge for me ( i think )
-
havent bothered with the enduro as its really not what i want, think im going to take the plunge and buy a new orange five pro just to decide on spec now and break it to zoe
-
-
-
Don't know much about speicalized seems to be a comp, but looks like he's changed near enough everything on the bike from standard
-
What you guys think to this??
Tells me it's the enduro but hasn't given me anymore looks highly specced, are the vans what you have/had andy?
-
Five pro (or SE if your rich) is equivalent to zesty, five AM and alpine 160 to spicy
I'm thinking five pro or zesty 514, would love the new orange five White gold Ltd edition but 3k
-
Well the Marin should be sold in a hour, had it up for sale for a while as fancied a change and thought while it was still worth some money I'd get it gone
So now the search is on for a new bike well second hand thinking a lapierre zesty or orange five also looking at mondraker's and trek ex's
