I already am your Chief Master Guru Deity High Performance Super Engineer. But don't you remember someone recently said I don't know S about S, must be why were both complete failures in life? -
As per the title, Thanks for providing me with some nice new rubber for my non-nissan car. Professional, friendly service as always. Will be back just as soon as I get the 240z back together

Well after the Germans invaded Sly @ Kaizer Motors for some fresh rubber I came home to find another zed in the garage One out & the next one in Then it was back to work masking up the 240 ready for something Amazing to happen The paint was mixed & then boom! S##t got real Then I got distracted Came back to the booth & the 1st coat was on After a further 2 coats the shell & doors look like this Not to much polishing required, over the moon with the result & can't wait to get back there in the morning to get the remaining panels done. All this hard work is starting to pay off- 203 replies

Almost happy with Theres a few bits of dirt/dust that wouldn't rub out, but this will have to wait until later in the year, I want to enjoy the car over the summer & then do any finishing touches over the winter, like the new wiring loom -

Well with my balls up on the line, learning about all this blocking malarky & the want to have it my way I've done about 15litres of high build primmer most of which has been swept up or clogged my filters nearly 10litres of etch primmer, about 2litres of gloss black, a little bit of silver & about 1.2litres of red/orange so far. Don't ask me how much its all cost as I'm not going to add it up, especially with all the consumables used, Pizza boxes & beer cans everywhere -

A long awaited update, Managed to get all the 'loose' items primed & flatted back, then painted their designated colour. light surrounds, cubby doors, tow hooks, bumper brackets etc Adrian helped me out with the front grill which is made up of a million pieces He de-greased, scrubbed & keyed them up ready for paint They were then hung & etched, followed by a quick coat of high build primer Also got these finished in Black Then today I made my own GM paint to match my wheels. Decided to use a water based base coat as I want a satin finish on some of the parts, which means applying a satin lacquer after the base coat. Using a water based base coat is easier as it sprays a lot flatter than the acrylic 2k nice & flat/smooth straight from the gun Left it to bake for a couple of hours then a nice wet coat of what was supposed to be a satin lacquer Have made a bit of a boo boo with the lacquer as I used an extra fast reducer & hardener along with the room temp around 30degrees so it flashed of within minutes leaving me with an unwanted gloss finish Oh & the car itself is ready for paint Steering column back in, brakes all connected & bled through also -

I made sure I bought a car that already had the IMS upgrade, otherwise it was something I was going to do. Not really a big job to do if your that worried about it & also a good selling point. The cars with the upgrade certainly sell for a bit more so it would be money well spent. There is risk in buying any used car & always seems to be something that could fail with every model. look at the vq35de, lots of engine failures due to improper fuel, oil.
