  1. Well I've been out in the garage to investigate some squeaky rear suspension this evening. Turned the light on in the pit to find it a whole lot darker than usual Guess I need to get the white paint out again. Anyways I found where the squeak was coming from, a dry & worn bush on the right rear wishbone. Although I have a complete set of new bushes in the cupboard I'm reluctant to change them just yet as I'm likely to damage them when I let myself loose with the sand blaster So decided that removing the bolt & pumping it full of grease was a suitable temporary fix It only has to last two more outings
  2. It is getting a little boring playing guess who top trumps on every thread
  3. So after a complete cop out on my part last weekend & spending most of the daylight hours in bed feeling sorry for myself. I decided I would make more of an effort this weekend. So yesterday I started with collecting my wheels from the tyre shop after deciding that the tyres I had fitted were to big So got them fitted & now I think I've gone to small with the tyres On the plus side it drives a lot nicer now with the smaller profiles. I also fitted a basic CD radio for my little road trip later this month, didn't bother taking any pictures of boring stuff like that. I then went & joined a few mates who were camping locally, so took the 240 off roading & managed to get a few snaps before dark Later dinner was served & then we got drunk & acted like teenagers After my hangover cleared today I decided to make a brace for when I remove the engine & after a quick clean up & paint Unfortunately I made a schoolboy error when welding the hooks to the steel bar. I was working over the pit, wearing all the protective gear including an air fed mask which can be a little warm. Even warmer when you end up with a full blown oil fire underneath you Some of the welding splatter managed to get down in the pit onto the oil covered rags & catch fire Scared the crap out of me as the garage quickly filled with thick black smoke & there were flames coming through the timbers covering the pit. thankfully I had a large fire extinguisher @hand, so managed to get control of it pretty quickly. So as the smoke cleared & I caught my breath Lesson learn't don't weld near combustable materials So theres not much more I feel that I need to do with the car before my little road trip later this month. Then it will be the start of the big strip down
  4. Nice to see another Kent based Memebr Theres a few members meeting a few weeks over in Surrey if you handy a little drive out in your new Z http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88018-maranello-ferrari-egham-surrey-meet-and-pub-lunch-sat-4th-oct-2014/page__st__40
  5. I got caught a few years ago when in early ownership of a zed but I'm not going to tell my story now incase I get handed the BS card
  6. Probably Australia, the whole split rotas on these DBA's are just a bit of a marketing ploy imo, You will have to replace all the fixing bolts & ensure the new discs are fixed straight which will probably end up in needing them skimmed upon installation. If for road use it will be easier & cheaper to replace the complete unit

Where can you get a warranty that will cover everything? Not sure they exist?
  8. Now I wonder if this will make a lap of Wales before the re-build? Could be interesting, I think this same photo would look ace with the 240 in place of the 350

I'm with Dan on the cost factor if things go wrong, all these fancy electronics are great all the time they are working but when they go wrong it's expensive & not normally something that can just be unbolted & replaced yourself, leaving you in the hands of some goon with a computer to empty your wallet. My dad has an Audi A8, he has just got it back today after having all the air suspension system replaced after an unknown fault, (the damping was un-even & ride height was raising at the front but not the rear) along with a new steering wheel & air bag module/wiring loom. Thankfully it was covered by warranty as I would imagine the dealer bill would have been in the region of £6-10k.
  10. There's a Cat D TT vq35de @ RT Performance at the moment, no engine or drivetrain damage. Not sure what is happening with it but it may be worth a phone call

Hey Bennet Nice one buddy I would definitely like a go in this please But don't they all come with the EDC as standard?
  13. Nice one If you ever fall short in the 350, get yourself a 240, the cougars love it
  14. Yep they are dampers, to soften the injector pulse/noise/vibration. A regulator needs an exit/return to bleed off excessive pressure. The 350/370 fuel system is one way as stock with the regulator in the tank.
  15. Pressure regulator is in the pump assembly (in fuel tank) on a stock 350
  16. Sorry to read about this, if you want a hand swapping out an engine I'll be happy to lend a hand
  17. As Paddy said, it's likely to be a fuel damper or noisy injector, although I recently looked into a similar tapping noise on a Vq35 which turned out to be an inlet lifter out of tolerance by 23thou
  18. I think you may be asking a bit much for the up rev cable & maf
  19. I reckon it already does I was following Grahams car last week & that sounded amazing
  20. Looks great Martin, RT Performance certainly do some great work,
