  1. $700 for a single licensed cable if you know a good tuner with a dyno, may even be more reliable than an 'authorised' tuner
  2. As Ekona said, assuming it is just polished. If however it is 'chromed' them aluminium foil & diet coke. (do not use this if it's just been polished)
  3. Ahh cool, good luck with a reliable Alfa running extra boost & once that breaks buy a german based run around & never fear of it failing you.
  4. Ian wanna buy a Leon FR 170 diesel, 50mpg, fun & fairly quick for an everyday car? 2forum owners in total & looking for a third
  5. They are fine for road use & come with plenty of positive feedback from a wide range of users, including many on here http://www.ferodoracing.com/products/car-racing/racing-brake-pads/ds2500/ US Retail prices: https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=3650 https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=3653 For UK prices I'd guess they would be similar but with a £ in front.
  6. Thinking of going Forced induction? You will need to upgrade the fuel injectors to increase fuel flow to unleash your extra power. I have for sale a set of 6 Injector dynamics 725cc fuel injectors including clips & pins. These will fit both 350z & 370z on stock fuel rails. They are brand new & the packaging has never been opened. I over ordered these when doing the build on my 370 back in Feb & they have lived on my desk since. http://injectordynam...njectors/id725/ £600 Delivered within the UK
  7. haha Eastern Europeans, must be related somehow And order something with plenty of garlic from the menu. Your rocker looks great! Video is pretty cool too. I'd be interested to know some costings on this. Have you contacted them directly yet? I've found a company in the UK that does pretty much the same, will be contacting them in the week to get a basic starter kit & see how it goes. If well I may invest in the proper kit & offer the service to others
  8. Quick Sunday update, not much done today as I have a sore head So got work with a job I hate, 2k Lacquer, Then whilst that has time to bake off I thought I'd give bore honing a go before: After: Then soaked the manifold in some rust removing solution (basically sulphuric acid) Then scrubbed with a wire brush & rinsed with cellulose thinners & painted with some high temp exhaust paint Now time to chill out
  9. Hi Guys & Girls I have a full set of Ferodo DS2500 brake pads (Front & Rear) for sale These will fit all 370z's with stock brake callipers (the ones that have NISSAN printed on them Full set £220 delivered within the UK Front set £130 delivered within the UK Rear set £100 delivered within the UK
  10. So today I got back in the garage & started here, with a clean head, freshly skimmed ready for re-assembly. So thought it would be a good idea to give it a coat of paint along with a few other bits & pieces, so got masking up So started with giving everything a good coat of zinc based primer Whilst that dried I started with the gearbox, sealed the holes (breather, speedo, selector & rear seal) a quick coat of de-greaser to help loosen some of the grime Then back to painting. Sorry no Zed Shed style crazy colours here, Decided to do the head & timing case is silver to brighten things up a little Then I thought I’d experiment a little, so with the black base coat I gave the rocker cover a few very fine & wet coats of chrome base coat Slowly built it up to this I hadn’t planned to to this otherwise I would have prepped the cover a little better, was just messing around with some new paint. Thinking about investing in a Spectra Chrome kit or something similar Finally I got round to welding up the holes in the manifold & ground off & thats all for today, hopefully I’ll get to lacquer the parts I painted earlier, tomorrow depending on how this evening goes as I have a date with one of Octets long lost cousins
  11. Ahh yes, I used to have a store, but It's been emptied twice in the last year or so by the Zed shed so now it's used for things like lawnmowers & old radiators Surprise? Like christmas? I hope it's not going to be you in your festive stockings
  12. Oh you have a 'store' now I am intrigued to see what this might be
  13. The engine is a bit of a mix, the block is an L28 & head is an N42 75'-76' with mechanical fuel pump & 71' SU carbs. The conversion was done when I embraced the world in 84' so not really sure how many miles on the engine, but seeing as the car has covered 116k I'd say it's got to be 80+
  14. Thanks, but I have barely touched the surface, the car is sitting on my drive probably rotting into a pile of dust while I mess around with the engine
  15. You will probably loose even more oil if you clean it Ian I thought it was pretty clean for 40+ years, just a bit of carbon build up (which is a biatch to remove without damaging the surface of the metal) Thankfully I found my source of the oil leak I had. a split valve seal which is soon to be on it's way across the pond
  16. Todays update: I haven’t made as much progress as I might have wanted in the last week, but managed to get the pistons removed: Then measured all the bores Then the pistons & crank journals, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. There seems to be virtually no-wear on any parts. When measuring everything I decided not to look at what the values were supposed to be before, but to measure everything 3-4times & annotate everything before referring to the specifications. All bores measured within 0.03mm of each other & all within original specifications, plus they still show some of the original honing marks So got the rings removed Then started cleaning them up one bu one Then onto the head, camshaft removed Then the lifters Leaving me here: many hours later I was here: I then got the emission crap removed from the manifold as I was sick of the sight of the head Thats now ready for some welding on the weekend (well away from combustable materials) Got the camshaft cleaned & re-oiled Then devised a way of cleaning the head without distorting the shape of it After about 40 mins on it After a further 40mins it was lightly lightly skimmed & shows true on 12mm float glass & just 0.03mm at one point on the block, so I'm pretty pleased with that So thats as far as I’ve got. next is to re-lapp the valves, re-tap the threads & a full clean before re-assembly. I can then get to work on the block & crank
  17. Price lowered, I still have these, ready to go for someone looking to do a winter build
