What have you have found in a used car???
Darren-B replied to Darren-B's topic in Off Topic Discussion
They are locked away in the gun cabinet at the moment while I decide what is best to do with them, I'm not sure burying them for someone less responsible to find is such a great idea though I agree Darren burying them in the ground is a bad idea. I mean all it takes is for a child or some moron to find them & before you know it they're hitting them with a hammer in a vice or trying to blow them up in a fire. Edit: Just seen your post maddog. Bad turn of phrase & I understand your concern with possessing such things. Occasionally local Police forces do hold guns & ammo amnesties where they will not prosecute people handing in either. Like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk...dshire-29783183 Kent police actually have one on at the moment -
Bladders, I think thats just Primer

38 Special bullet's are 0.374 of an inch which makes it 9.5mm in diameter. Believe me ammunition over the years is very confusing when it comes to referring to sizes, calibres, gauges, bores etc. Just think of all the different countries that have made there own ammunition for starters. As I said Darren just take a look on the underneath near the primers and it will tell you the calibre most likely unless on the rare occasion it won't if it's a mass produced military cartridge & even then in most cases it will still state a calibre. Like the below picture which shows you it's a "9mm Luger" cartridge. Sorry bit geeky I know, ...hence part of my user name. "Ballistic" I'm kind of interested in firearms ballistics, ammunition etc. Well I would post them to you, but.................................... probably best not to, I'll clean them up tomorrow & take some better pictures -

You should see what I found in that Leon I bought a while back -
Over the years I have come across a number of items that people have left/lost in their cars when selling, from fuel receipts to bra's & radiator valves But with my latest purchase I have come across some items that are a little more exciting than my previous finds: So far I have found a cigar cutter, $4.19 & counting, ketchup, banking receipts, glasses, 3 flares, a couple of 9mm Rounds & 2 spare keys taped to the underside, & just so I don't get the 'cool story bro' So what have people left behind in cars you have bought

quick update: Have been a bit pre-occupied this week with a wheel re-furb, picked up a spare for my van which was a little old & tired After a quick clean up, prime & a coat of paint & clear coat, ended up like this, all ready for some winter tyres So back to the Pumpkin, after removing the door cards, window mechs, rear quarter windows & locks the other day while waiting for paint to dry I started tonight with fitting an interior light Disconnected & catalogued the wiring connectors, this has been played with over the years, I have lots of free connectors not doing much & some in-line fuses, crimp connectors that have been added to cause me some confusion Then the dash was OUT! Then went about removing the dials & gauges, ready for the repair of the cracks ground the sharp edges off, keyed the surrounding area & cleaned Then with some flexible filler (hopefully it won't crack) filled the cracks & left to set over night (forgot to take a picture) Then managed to remove the windscreen without breaking it Not to say it will go back in in one piece, but thats ok I have windscreen cover upto £1.5k & FINALLY I have found some rust Not really much to worry about & I'm sure it will be easy to deal with, -

Yep, having a little practise before doing the bumpers, the chrome procedure is the easy bit, it's the prep that takes the time, the surface has to be properly flat, shiny & free from impurities, including polishing compounds which is really frustrating. -

Quick update, not had to much time to work on the car lately, But managed to get the gearbox cleaned then soaked & blasted with nearly 5litres of thinners to fully de-grease prior to some etch primer Then finally a coat of silver topped with a splash of clear coat Also managed to clean, prime, lacquer my dashpots Then things got exciting & all shiny Thats all for now -
That was a big one. We sneaked down to Mulsanne dodging the Gendarme in the middle of the night and were sitting by the armco, watching them flat through the kink when it was like a bomb going off, unfortunately it was Win turning the Jag into scrap. Glad he was OK. :scare: Wow cool story Will, you certainly get about when it comes to motor racing
