I would normally check it once the engine is warm as the oil expands with heat, but leave it a good 5mins once the engine has been stopped so that the oil can drain back down into the sump

An easy way to tell would be get someone else to start it when cold so you can see how much smoke comes out the back Hope you havent caused to much damage

You wont get far without the ecu, you cant just bolt it on and expect it to go anywhere, then once you get the ecu you wont see those sort of gains without the fuel pump/regulator and injectors so add £2000- £3000 on that price plus mapping time and then you might be boosted, but for how long nobody knows

trouble is that the outer lip appears to be just polished ali (someone correct me if im wrong) so has no protection (laquer), so it wont take long for road salt to fade/corrode them

bloody hell, You must be the third person this week who has been running their car with no oil, You should check your fluids atleast once a week. I always do with mine, even more so if its driven hard. luckily my zed has never drunk a drip of oil but i still check it often to be on the safe side.

like I do I have kept my rays for the winter as I dont dare let those polished lips on the road when they start throwing all that salt/grit around

I still got the following things on my snowfoam to do list: - A van - A truck - bicycle - neighbours cat (all three of them...if that don't stop them shittin in me garden, then god knows what will....) You forgot about naked ladies unless of course you have already squirted your foam over them

You mention the dials, my rev-counter gets stuck between 3-4k sometimes, usually on very hot days if the car has been in the sun, obv not a prob in comparision to the fuel gauge. M IMO my moneys on the sender unit in the fuel tank

Or you could just take the strut brace off, only takes a minute or two (6bolts, 2nuts), making access so much easier

it must be a loud rattle if you can here it over the exhaust noise
