  1. Thanks mate I wasn't going home until I found the limits of that car. It's been an absolute blast. I Even went & done the Appledore ring this evening Full Blast. I hate to say it (being a Jap lover) the balance & grip is outstanding! (for a reasonably priced stock road going car) Had a look for the video on-board but the SD card is fragmented & only stored the last 10hours
  2. Well what a brilliant day! took my new toy & it performed faultlessly (apart from a brake warning when they were hot, but I don't worry about things like that) pretty quick for a stock car to, had a little wet session to & before they all say it, yes I pushed a little to hard & ran out of lock The new bimmer was cool, seems to be a strong car, the geometry could do with some attention though But the star of the show was the Radical! I'm still grinning from ear to ear & on the hunt for one in the near future. Will post up some videos tomorrow of a few quick laps & the wet weather drifting
  3. Did I not? I now can't find any email Can you resend please?
  4. Come on, you should know me by now, I'm to stubborn to do that, I will finish this car myself, I said I would so I will. Oh & the bluetooth isn't working in the Porsche
  5. Off to Bedford Autodrome, tomorrow when your far far away in Bournemouth
  6. Hmm in one way, but in others it's frightening how much work still needs to be done in the little time I have
  7. See you all in the morning, hopefully we will have some dry running, want to se what the porker is capable of, also really want a run in Chris's Radical without getting soaked.
  8. An alternative to going to the gym Well tonight I done some track prep on the porker for tomorrow, checked tyre pressures & filled with fuel which took a whole 30mins, then done a bit more on the door, got peed off & decided to get the brake & fuel lines in. I had meant to do these before the rear subframe wnet back on but they had been forgotten about & not cleaned or painted, so meant it was a pig of a job threading them through the gaps without damaging them whilst lying on the floor All done, no pics from underneath as the phone was out of reach, all new stainless steel button top fixings for that 'extra' detail that is going to follow thought the entire car
  9. Mid week update: Had a good sort out in the garage, the remaining brake & fuel lines cleaned, primed & painted. Now it's back to block sanding
  10. Fixed that for you What do you lot do in the evenings then? Sit around watch TV? Can't be doing with that - finish work - long drive home (I work from home so actually it's a 20 second walk to the bedroom) change clothes get out to the Zed Shed turn the lights on Buster arrives - couple of hours playing on the car before grub - then either back out for a couple of hours or post on the forum buy some bit's from eBay - the source of most of my consumables (rivets, tape, wire etc etc) then a shower and bed - get up and do it again Chris, were you a Milkman in Kent in 1983? I do exactly this EVERYDAY! Also glad to see your part of the Torqen development crew
  11. Sod you then................. :p So when you getting that little red devil of yours on track then - great opportunity for you to nip over to Bedford Yeah I know, the waves of Colwyn Bay would miss you Well hopefully the Germans will invade the Welsh countryside soon
  12. Evening all. If there is anyone planning on coming down the evening before & staying in a local hotel perhaps we can all meet up for dinner & a few beverages? I live nearby & would happy to arrange a table or area in a nice pub/resturant. (Depending on how many, I might even be able to sort out local travel/minibus) If interested please PM me rather than going off topic on this thread
  13. Not seen that before, awesome car & awesome garage
  14. Only if you bring Modjo with you as he is the best @ tidying up
  15. I think my garage would need to be usable, something like this
  16. It won't be a day off as I'll be working on the 240 in the evening so long as I don't break the Porker
  17. Thanks guys, I will admit it, this car is taking it's toll on me, but I'm on a mission & I ain't no quitter. Not sure what I am going to do with myself when I'm done with this though Not much has happened today, just had a tidy up in the garage as everything was literally dumped in there last night. I did however get talking about cars to one of my customers today. He has 3 garages which are like showrooms, in one of them he has a framed picture of every car he has ever owned lining the walls, which is awesome. He has given me some ideas on what I could do after all the work has been done
  18. what can I say? Need to give the car a shakedown before the ring & don't have the time to nip to Wales
  19. Thanks for the positive feedback, unfortunately the shell is the furthest progressed part of the car. I have been focussing on this for a few weeks now so that I could make some space. It still needs blocking back for it's final shape, then onto the rest of the panels. The bonnet is still bare metal But it has been really uplifting not only to get some colour but to get it back to resembling a car not just a pile of money sucking metal
  20. Nice one guys, I may join you on Saturday @ Bedford, need to give mine a shakedown before the ring in May. But also need to crack on with the 240 so a day off is pretty costly for me
  21. Well what a great day it has been today, the garage didn't catch fire overnight with all the heating equipment on keeping a steady 28 degrees & this is what I was welcomed with after yesterdays undisclosed work Then this fella turned up for work or should I say lunch He had my makeshift dust/spray room down in no time To reveal this beauty This is the first full car photo I've been able to take for months So after getting all the electrics, plumbing & framework out the way the proper work started Got the front subframe back in took a bit of time as I put all the nut's & bolts somewhere safe as I was going to replace them all, but then discovered that all the threads were 1.25mm pitch & not 1.5mm as per the ones I had bought Also with all new bushes everything was a super tight fit & being extra careful not to mark any of the shiny painted surfaces it wasn't a 10minute job Then got onto the rear, I pressed in the final set of bushes into the mustachio bar Whilst Adrian had a lie down rear suspension & diff all in Adrian got the wheels on And our days work was done Really pleased with todays achievements & really nice to get the tent down, has give me so much more room to work now that the large areas of mess have been finished, so I guess it will be back to blocking down for the next month or so & maybe an evening replacing all the nuts & bolts we had to re-use today
  22. Well this week has been quite stressful, with 150 shades of red & orange I got it down to three & got some paint mixed up to spray off a few samples 2 of them are original colours & 1 is a slight tweak of an original colour, spent three days looking at them in different lights. I was 80% on what I wanted to go for so I decided to take them to the Ace Cafe meet today & asked a few fellow members which they preferred & thankfully the large majority chose the same, so a quick call to my paint man & 2.5hrs later when I got home I had some presents waiting Earlier in the week in anticipation that I would have some colour by Saturday I focused on getting the (hopefully) final high build primer on the the shell, finish the sound deadening followed by a full scratch down, degrease, seam sealing, then the primed areas masked off & another 2litres of stone-chip, Then tonight S*** got REAL
  23. Hahaha love it, taking your van on track. I agree, they handle very well. Unfortunately most of my materials are fragile & expensive so I have to be careful. Nice gentle driving which in tale uncovers the previously mentioned annoying parts of it. Other than that I think there well equipped & finished, closer to the Vito than ever before
