  1. Hope the subframes not twisted from the accident???? Are you sure you fitted the adjustment eyes up the right way?
  2. I`m with Dan on this one, I doubt the dealer would even entertain you with subsidising the cost of tyres or doing the alignment for free. The wheel alignment can be knocked out by going over a bump/hole in the road.
  3. I bet there's a member on here that could kill one in less than a week & prob less than 10k
  4. Just ordered the re colouring kit myself, will post up my results as & when
  5. Haha this is before I had the rocker covers off, I managed to drop the bolt through the lower plenum when re-intalling it the first time
  6. So over the winter I have a few bits I need to do on the zed to keep her at her best, A week before the Jockland Hoon I gave her a service, spark plugs, engine oil, coolant, gear & diff oil. When changing the plugs I discovered that there was a small amount of oil leaking from the rocker covers into the sleeve for the no.1 & No.4 plugs. I spoke to ZMANALEX whilst on the hoon about this & he advised that the centre seals are part of the rocker cover & a new rocker cover would be required. So against his advice I ordered the replacement rocker cover gaskets (outer Seals), sub £20 delivered. With the intention to replace the outer rubber seals & make/repair the centre seals with a heat & oil resistant sealant rather than fork out for replacement rocker covers. So the last couple of evenings I got to work to repair the leaks. Before I started, completely stock other than a panel filter, 06 velocity stack & plenum spacer. Engine cover & strut bar removed coolante drained, then upper & lower plenum removed Then came the slightly trickier part of un fixing & moving the various coolant hoses & the main wiring loom to gain access to the rocker covers. This in fact took more time than it did to actually remove, clean 7 replace the gaskets on both covers. Unfortunately I didn`t manage to get any pics of the covers off as it was getting a little late & I wasn`t going to get cleaned up just to take pictures. Rocker covers fitted, torqued & cleaned, wiring loom & coolant hoses back in place Re-fitted the lower plenum, cleaned & torqued. Then went to work on the upper plenum, fancied a colour change, Red So i prepped & sprayed the upper plenum Rosso Red (matt) After putting it all back together bar the engine cover & strut brace I decided that I could see to much of the aluminium on the lower plenum so that needed painting to, also I thought it would look better with some lacquer I also painted the strut bar but forgot to take pics Lower plenum, installed once again Then upper plenum installed Strut brace, engine cover & intake installed Finally the coolant was replaced & fired her up, All seems 0k, no signs of any leaks, in fact it feels alot quicker it must be the Rosso red paint, that must be worth 50hp Next on my list are, Replacing hinges on drivers door Replacing Clutch & Flywheel (single or DMF)???? Finding a faulty airbag connection Cleaning & sealing all ali parts under the car, Under-sealing Re-spraying the bonnet, bumper & wings Removing & re-furbing Brembo callipers Possible poly bushing Doesn`t look like I`ll be spending much time with the better half this winter
  7. I feel a bidding war coming on,
  8. PMSL you have to put that as your signature, quality
  9. Sorry for partly crashing your thread I did the same when I got my zed, the big craze was all about pop chargers & exhausts, so I went & did it, soon to return the car back to stock as the negative factors out weighed the positive ones. I`m pretty sure that without a re-map, hfc`s & decats lose you mid range torque without a re-map, uprev or piggyback. Along with a pop-charger increasing inlety temps. But I`m sure Mark will be able to confirm soon.
  10. What might you be doing on there then Ian
  11. +1 seriously unreliable but absolutely amazing cars, If you haven`t driven one you shouldn`t judge. I`ve been lucky enough to drive the three in which my uncle has owned, A griffith 500, cerbera 4.2 & sagaris. Also Hired a Sagaris a couple of years back. All of which (when working) put the zed to shame. An out right hardcore FR Sports car with the added bonus of a beautiful interior. If I had the cash & time to maintain one I would buy A Sagaris tomorrow.
  12. Unless your going FI is it really worth fitting decats? Mark are there any proven gains over high flow cats? Surely you will just lose back pressure thus mid range torque? Or can this be corrected with the Up-Rev?
  13. Let me drive it, I`ll let you know how good the dampers are On a serious not, do the above, but if you have a damper gone when you drive over bumps the car will tend to sway/wallow about. If your still unsure take it to your local MOT centre & have it checked properly
  14. Any more discounts for a group buy?
  15. Welcome Where in the country are you based
  16. Chris & Southern speed have just voiced my thoughts exactly. I in no way drive my car like miss daisy but as many other members on here have witnessed. I drive my car on & off track fairly hard but treat it with the utmost respect mechanically. Always monitoring & replacing fluids, lubricants etc. Using only the best products including fuel. Very rarely hitting the limiter, never changing down to over rev the car, using heel-n toe to reduce the negative drive load as I change down. I believe this is a more suited attitude to have if you are going to drive a car hard. It clearly shows that those who do not look after theirs cars correctly tend to pay the price. Mines 7years old now, 65k, 30+ full trackdays, plenty of drifting & fast road use, still on original clutch, flywheel & ENGINE That`s my 2pence
  17. Nice ride Colin, Sam certainly enjoyed it So what was the verdict then? or
  18. IMO with an attitude like this against the car, along with poor maintenance I`m not suprised you have killed 2cars. I`m not here to argue your points even though you contradict yourself within the same post with reference to "ragging the s**t out of the zed" & "so I do know how to look after an engine and know what can happen if you don't" Clearly you need to adjust your approach to the way you drive & mainain your vehicles
  19. Looks more like LOST,
  20. I can completely understand why people do it, the taxes in this country are extortionate
  21. Surely you would be taking a bit of a risk not declaring the value of them, what if they were damaged or got lost in transport? They would then be under insured.
  22. I spent £47k on two zeds in 2007 You must have enjoyed it, does that include the one you test drove
