  1. Aye, less than the brakes youre talking about anyway
  2. 15mm is a roll and a slight flare, or if youre on coilovers another degree of camber and a bit of stretch. See, this man has a 9.5 ET0 which is clearing his Brembos, hes running a 225 tyre at 2 degs camber up front on a rolled/slight pulled arch. Even as a massive wheel whore, downgrading brakes to fit wheels is not an option. The other option is a wider front fender, youd only need a +15 but I cant find any in the UK - Knight Racer used to do them though .........
  3. I know youve tried it but I cant see that a 9.5 ET15 needs 25mm of spacing to clear the brakes, that would mean the same wheel as 9.5 ET 40 would only just clear the brakes ............. have you tried thinner spacers? My 10J ET -18's clear with a 25mm spacer, you do the maths .......... I think something aint quite right here mate
  4. Wheres the thread that outlines the problem?
  5. Downgrade the brakes rather than pull the arches? Really?
  6. They do if youre a man and buy wheels first, then make your arches fit your wheels. Making your wheels fit your arches is more sensible, but is is for girls.

    tyres

MPSS are the best and "co-incidentally" the most expensive too, make of that what you will
  8. Mate, if youre a mod on two other sites then you should know how bastard annoying it is to have relative n00bs question the site rules that have been voted and decided on by the admin team And TBF the uploading of pics on here is exactly the same as every other VBB site over the last 10 years, if you cant figure out how to click a button that looks like a postcard you might want to go careful next time youre charging your phone up that your fingers dont slip into the plug socket
  9. @ Marzman - watch the vid, PM me if youre interested as I think he would sell it for the right price .......... Oh, its a supercharged MeV Exocet BTW, I drive it on the same day as the vid and sweet jesus.
  10. You build one like this, you see how much it costs you - this isnt a bodykit, this is dozens of hours of sheet metalwork and custom paint. Granted, youll never see back what you put in on a modified car but its just had another £1000 dropped on it in paint and bodywork to make it immaculate again and that was just tidying up, the original project was huge. There was also another one with just a bodykit and 3 inch spacers that went for considerably more than Im asking this last week There are more pics, including some from the build - Ill try get some up later but thanks for positive comments
  11. Stupid man in a rocket sled, starts about 0.50 "When he began his research in 1947, the aerospace conventional wisdom was that a man would suffer fatally around 18 g. Stapp shattered this barrier in the process of his progressive work, experiencing more "peak" g-forces voluntarily than any other human. Stapp suffered repeated and various injuries including broken limbs, ribs, detached retina, and miscellaneous traumas which eventually resulted in lifelong lingering vision problems caused by permanently burst blood vessels in his eyes. In one of his final rocket-propelled rides, Stapp was subjected to 46.2 times the force of gravity.[5] The aeronautical design changes this fundamental research wrought are widespread and hard to quantify, but fundamentally important." This is cool too:
  12. I thought this until I drove one. The experience is much more involving, the inputs much more precise, the feeling of speed is greater, even full on race cars cant replicate the feeling, you need to give it a go man
  13. The 2 is better than the 1, most of its the same but geometry is different, front end is much better
  14. What, like the guy who already has one and has just suggested a 370Z Evo's are a good laugh on track, scoobs can be a bit nose heavy but you can dial that out ........... but TBH, if youre just buying for track anything over 1000KGs is too lardy, you dont really want FWD so Caterhams, Westfields, Elises etc. etc. are always going to be best bet
  15. Totally, one of the reasons Im moving mine on is the cost of replacing 2 19 inch tyres every other trackday, it generally does twice the fuel of the Clios and stuff as well. EDIT: I didnt mention the weight as I didnt want to sound like a cracked record but that as well - if it had a turbo, or was 250KG lighter it you wouldnt be able to move for them on track
  16. Christ on a bike. /thread.
  17. Up to 400hp, about 600KG I think and was less than 10K with a set of wets and the trailer
  18. I think maybe one of them is a Mk1 (TA22), the others are RA25/28's but they can be absolutely magnificent if done right. The coolest in the country ATM is easily Huxleys driftcar though:
  19. When considering whether you have "baller stance", ask yourself the following questions: a) Have I forgotten what the inside of a multistorey carpark looks like? Do I consider over 12 hours measuring arches, calculating, re-measuring arches, speaking to arch specialists, re-measuring arches, and calculating tyre radii to the half millimetre with variety of width and stretch amounts time well spent? c) Did my wheels cost more than £1300 secondhand? Did my wheel nuts cost more than £100? d) Do I know what my width, offset and diameter is better than my significant others birth date? e) Have I ever scraped a catseye, roadkill smaller than a Guinea Pig or the crown of the road with my front bumper? If the answer to the above isnt "yes" then you probably havent
  20. Shame, Clive is pretty good at driving into walls Will definitely be along to something but you know its going to give me the itch again ........
  21. Thanks guys, it really does look the business but its the way it drives I still cant get over, I lucked out bigtime
  22. Still not 100% about this but Im sorely tempted by a Cayman .......... So, for sale is my 2003 JDM 350Z - I originally bought it in 2006 and have had it ever since, although obviously there has been rather a lot of work done to it in that time. Its on a bit under 100K miles but has full service history from Marshall Nissan Cambridge, both me and the guy that imported it had everything done there. All the bodywork was done by Will@Streeoptions after a slight "incident" and he did a rather magnificent job - this isnt some halfarsed fibreglass job, the bodykit is genuine Chargespeed all round with some excellent modification to fit the arches which are all 1 off and made of metal, they are roughly 75mm wider than standard to fit over the wheels ......... ......... which are Work Equip 18x10 ET -18 front (with 25mm spacers) and SSR Leon Hardirit 19x11.15 ET15 rear (also with 25mm spacers) running nearly new RE050A and even newer Michelin Pilot Supersports respectively - Ill throw in the other half of the set of Hardiritts (10J ET 15 IIRC) and a set of 350Z Rays as well. The paint is slightly lighter than standard with about 4 times the metalflake in it and really comes up beautifully in direct sunlight, its also just been back to Will to get generally tidied up so is pretty much immaculate now. Mods are: Scorpion resonated exhaust (nearly new), HSD coilovers, plenum spacer, Pop charger (induction kit), Vibratechnics engine mounts, some kind of posh JDM decats, Project Mu front pads and DS2500 rears, braided brake lines, Nismo wheel, dials and gearknob, D1 Spec Throttle controller, uprated Focal speakers all round and a fancy pants Pioneer touch screen head unit. It has cloth seats (less slippy and wear better than leather) and dials are still in km, interior is in pretty decent condition. It has been tracked, it has been drifted and I drive hard, but its always been warmed up and cooled down properly, serviced regularly and treated with respect, Im not aware of any current issues and anything that comes up gets fixed immediately. Its undersealed but I never drive it when theres salt on the road anyway, Ive also taken it to Le Mans 3 years in a row without it missing a beat. The thing that amazes me with this car is how it drives, I honestly expected to have cocked the handling up by fitting stupid wheels but the grip it has is insane, and if anything turn in and feedback are even better than standard. The ride is also compliant enough for going proper quick on bumpy roads, I recently drove a 370 Nismo and Id take my Zed over it every day of the week. Its low but will still go over speed bumps, it would look awesome even lower but I dont have the balls to try it Only issues are: rear wheels could probably do with a refurb as the only time I ever took it to a Eastern European carwash they got a bit keen with the acid, one of the topmounts very occasionally gets noisy for a few minutes ...... and thats it. This is a totally unique, 1 off car so Im saying £10K - as per first line Im not even sure Im doing the right thing so no lowballing please, Im also not really after P/X unless its a standard car with 400hp (or aforementioned Cayman)
  23. See earlier post regarding business partners 159 - he had Alfa satisfaction AND nothing caught fire!
  24. Tell me you successfully schooled his child looking ass ............ Car looks awesome and thats an excellent result there man, car perfect or is there anything youre looking to develop/improve? I need to try and get along to something this season, first year since Eurodrift started Ive not managed to get to something ............
  25. It was an Alfa, thats how you explain it. Ive had two Lancias and its the same thing, they are actually pretty @*!# as cars but you get attached to them like nothing else. I remember when I got my old S13 200SX back on the road and parked my HF Turbo up, I couldnt believe how characterless the 200 felt after 6 months of windows going up and down by themselves, warning lights coming on, taking diffferent lines round each corner etc., I still miss it
