162, GPS, didnt feel like there was much more TBH.
  3. I think its just that where a couple of years ago the vast majority of people were fairly similar in their background and experience, youve now got a much broader crowd - young and old, JDM/Modified/Stance experience, track heroes, drifters, stancemasters and its inevitable there will be some butting of heads. I know Ive been quite confrontational in quite a few threads but Im not going to back down if someone is talking rubbish - Grundy's wheels thread is a good example, the guy was going to downgrade brakes because no-one knew what was possible with archwork ....... but when the arch advice is questioned and comments like "lower the car to increase camber" and "D2s are as good as anything else because they have the same adjustment" Im going to reinforce my point more directly. The fact I was right on that helps Theres also more people with more experience of forums that look at this as banter rather than direct insults, if someone has a different opinion then theres nothing wrong with some bants as long as its taken in the manner intended. However, if someone is downright wrong in what they are saying like their car is "pinking" on tickover then its in everyones interests to pull them up on it.
  4. This again, anyone? You can probably guess the point I was getting at, if youre getting this happening then it is restrictive to your driving, if you dont know what Im talking about then it probably isnt. As with Steve, Ive had the car fire the front brakes coming into a corner at Donington at about 100mph and I ****ing @*!# myself.
  5. Hey, I know Im not your average driver, I wouldnt use me as a yardstick for anything TC is easy to get going with a heavy right foot, the front wheel thing (Id call it stability control myself) you only get when you are physically going too fast, or at least the car thinks you are. My missus drove it on track and didnt have it happen, I cant get very far down the road while "pressing on" without it happening ........
  6. I find it restrictive when going quickly, personally, I know a couple of other guys who do too. Out of interest, how often have the guys who drive with it on felt it fire on the front wheels?
  7. Thanks mate. Driving a Cayman this afternoon and expect I will be needing moneys soon, so £9K - its not going any lower though
  8. Its a very communicative car at the back end, if youve got the space then its worth a play and you'll realise how much warning it gives you before losing grip - its also one of the squarest cars Ive driven, meaning its quite difficult to go past 90 degrees unless youre being a proper tool. The torque available low down in the range means it can get you out of trouble as well as getting you into it too Bear in mind though that anything without gated access still counts as public road, if you get caught doing donuts in your local Tescos you could be looking at a ban ......... ETA - someone mentioned an S2000, thats a totally different prospect, if that goes properly sideways then its a lot more difficult to reel back in. I know, I nearly met the scenery at Spa while driving someone elses car a while back
  9. As Ive long said, Christ only knows how those TVR drivers get away with it so much Wait until someone suggests a welded diff ........
  10. That'll be on airbags mate ......... which if Im honest I understand on a VIP car, but on a 2 seat sportster it seems to be missing the point a bit.
  11. The company that make them up there ^^ didnt come back to me on specs though
  12. I dont think I had it on for more than a month in 7 years ownership Ive got a slightly different driving background to most I guess, but I find its bordering on dangerous sometimes, its so agricultural and unintelligent Test drove a 370 Nismo a couple of weeks back and the bloody light wouldnt go off at all, Id hoped for better TBH
  13. Blimey, I thought Norris would have retired years ago Car sounds very cool, brakes might be a good idea
  14. RIP Denis, at least it was doing something he loved.
  15. Cheeky bastards, I thought we invented that! Have just found evidence from 2001, do you think Id get them for copyright?
  16. More to the point, I havent seen one of these T shirts since about 2004: Where did he get it from? Not a former member of SXOC or ZXOC is he as I dont remember anyone else selling them??
  17. Have you called Sky, Adrian Flux, Greenlight and the usual specialist suspects?
  18. YESSSSSSS!!!! :D Told you it could be done
  19. Why would he need to buy springs when hes already got 4 ...........
  20. No, its because I have owned two whole cars with D2's fitted, albeit not for long, and can think of 4 off the top of my head Ive driven. Ive also owned HSD, Tein, HKS, Apex, Apexi, Bilstein and Boge coilovers and driven cars on just about everything else. Unlike a lot of people I dont make comments without prior experience, I was running coilovers (and into drifting actually) before Driftworks existed anyway. As for the other comments, for the third time topmounts are available without coilovers and will adjust camber for about a fifth of the price, and lowering a car to achieve more camber is about as advanced as letting air out of the tyres to get lower ride height.
  21. Hell yes, Id consider offers of a sexual nature as well if you want? Its a difficult one to stick a price on as theres nothing really to compare to, but the two sets of wheels alone have got to be nearly £2K with the tyres ......
  22. D2 damping is the worst Ive experienced in any set of coilovers, and Ive used a lot, its not just about adjustment. When they are pretty much the same price as HSD's, which are among the best Ive used, this has to be some of the worst advice given on this thread yet. And quite aside from how spending another £800+ on another set of wheels when the ones he has are perfectly good is "the most sensible option" you still havent explained how lowering the car is going to suddenly make his arches 15mm wider? And actually, why the hell would you not want your arches rolled anyway? You cant see it, no-one else can see it, it doesnt affect the car in any way other than allowing bigger wheels, whats the problem? I give up, Grundy, PM me if you need to know any more.
  23. BTW, I will consider offers under the asking price, Im keen to get it sold before I change my mind!
  24. They use a heat gun to soften the metal a bit and then a purpose built machine to flatten the lips and then roll the arches, adding flare to it if necessary as well. Very occasionally it will crack paint but on unmolested and unfilled arches you should be fine
