    Corvette C6

I think it was probably more that they are all similarly priced. A Monaro is no more a Corvette than an XJR is an F Type, or a 135d is a 735d, or a Renault Espace is a 350Z, if you cant see that youre deluded. A Monaro is based on a 4 seat saloon car chassis which originally started life in the Vauxhall Carlton. The Corvette has always been a purpose built 2 seat coupe with more than a slight inclination towards racing. They are not even comparable.
  2. Integrale. Whats more, I sold it to a mate so I still see it occasionally
  3. You will find most people will use the full braking performance when something unexpected appears in front of them though Why people wouldnt want the best available tyres on a car I really dont know, it makes it safer, more fun, faster and saves money in the long run.
  4. Aye, why buy a Golf when you can have a Leon/Octavia which is effectively the same but costs less money?
  5. Air Training Corps will let you fire rifles in the UK from the age of 13
  6. And if you want a laugh, I finally managed to get my mate to come out at Snetterton at the weekend for his first trackday - he had an excellent time which was great to see Spoke to him in the pub last night and he said "I reckon I might do this a bit more but I think Ill get a proper trackday car for it though" - fair comment I guess, until you find out there is a Lotus Exige parked on his driveway I told him that if he bought an MX5 or something without selling the Exige first I wouldnt ever speak to him again
  7. Dont understand why you would buy an S2K as a trackcar when you already have a 350Z, Id take the Zed anyway ........ but for cheap track fun you cant beat MX5's and 172/182 Clios. Ive been at Snetterton this weekend in our mk3 MR2 which is awesome as well, they are all cheap to buy, reliable and cheap on tyres and brakes and stuff, get involved.
  8. Hmmm, the one thing that springs to mind is that the 350 is rather unsubtle when it "makes itself" idle - Im talking about when you let the revs drop down under 1K and the car sorts itself out to stop it stalling. Most cars Ive driven you dont notice this happening but in the Zed you can actually feel the car lurch a little as it cuts in, maybe its that youre feeling?
  9. Business partner had one (on my recommendation) and Im trying to get my brother to buy one as well, nice to drive, beautiful to look at, whats not to like?
  10. Im sorry, but this is a pet hate of mine - how can you recommend something you havent tried for yourself?
  11. I have a feeling that if you didnt own one you wouldnt think that way
  12. Used both, would probably take the Kumhos if price was the same
  13. Ummm yeah, its like the guy that puts up pics of his car and says "what do you think" then gets waxy with any negative comments that are made. As for the green eyed monster ......... not really, people are entitled to their own opinions and they have the right to express them. Ive not been overly complimentary about the Nismo 370, I found it disappointing TBH, but that doesnt mean I dont think its a decent car, it certainly doesnt mean I couldnt go buy two tomorrow if I wanted to - jealousy doesnt come into it.
  14. Get your alignment checked, it shouldnt be breaking traction in the dry, certainly not with MPSS on. Youre entitled to your opinion but the MPSS and RE050A perform considerably better than cheaper alternatives, thats why people pay more money for them .......... 4 months is nothing as well
  15. Hahaha! I was actually on the phone to CMR talking about his Cayman, I had to take it off hands free as I couldnt hear what he was saying
  16. Redline = limiter, always has and always will.
  17. Aye, bring Top Gear into it, that'll show em. I dont remember saying the 350Z had a particularly good box, in fact it doesnt, but if you have any level of car control beyond turning the wheel and pushing the pedals then you'll know what Im on about, on track or on road. If driving with one hand and one foot is your thing, why are you in a gas guzzling 2 seat car then? And if you want to willy wave, Ive probably drifted 50+ cars never mind something challenging like driving them to the shops.
  18. Then, with respect, youre an average driver and no more than that. If you dont understand why a manual is better for performance driving then you arent using a gearbox or a clutch properly. For the record, weight shift, rev matched up or downshifts, recovering/avoiding spins and general car control is a lot more difficult without a clutch. Theres also the instant response which is delayed in an auto, for serous track driving this could be the difference between staying on and spinning off. They are also at least dual clutch systems which makes anything else look like 1990's technology. Which it is Seriously though, try any of the new generation of DCT type boxes including those youve listed and youll notice the difference straight away - I nearly drove off the road when I experienced instantaneous quadruple kickdown the other day, its awesome ETA: Im not knocking the 350Z auto box by any means, although Ive not driven one Ive only heard good things ........ but if you want the best possible performance from the car its got to be the manual for me.
  19. Still here and Im still tempted by Cayman ......... couple more pics, it even looks good when its dirty ........
  20. He got this the wrong way round is anyone is still confused, if youre double declutching then get out of the 1970's and if youre shifting up while braking youve got bigger problems I can also confirm that trying to H+T in a manual 370Z with the rev match on confuses the hell out of it
  21. Sorry, for me running onto a live track is asking for trouble. I think Stewart may have planted the throttle but what the hell was Ward thinking?
  22. This, I have exactly the same problem and you need to pack the recesses on the skirts then us wood to spread over a jack. Steveo's diff jacking works too but only at the back
  23. The last service I had at Marshalls they charged me for regassing and testing the aircon when all they had done was check the light on the dash went on, and also for refilling the washer bottle that I dont have anymore. The time I visited previou they hit me up for £500 + VAT for an AFM when you can buy the element for a fifth of that. Marshalls are not "the one"
