Off topic but i got warning points for this, how come staff are allowed to swear around the filter but were not! one rule for one, one Rule for another Same way he can be aggressive and insulting in everything he types but apparently we are the bad guys. Anyway, despite being a moron Id like to know how oil "props up" the economy when we are a net importer and 78% of GDP is from our service industries, perhaps the shouty man can answer that one for us?

Yep, because the rest of the world has enjoyed unrivalled prosperity over that period hasnt it and the UK is now left floundering, particularly when compared to its fellow EU countries. Funnily enough we have all suffered the same as you but most people, at least down here, seem to understand why and recognise that there are better days ahead,. And thats for NeilP, this is pretty much all Im hearing from the Yes side - "you fukking English, stealing our money, dont know what youre talking about". No need to get like that but it seems thats the standard response from the most vociferous "yes" voters. Can I be doing with it? No, not really, I look forward to the day you lot are flat on your arse asking for our help again TBH.

Do all the people on here during normal hours work from home?

I am the boss TBF a couple of minutes here and there is a good thing IMO, keeps concentration up and stuff -
That was 40 years ago, I have no doubt that you could find all sorts of horrible stuff the government did then if you wanted to, not to mention that Labour, Conservative and even SNP were unrecognisable compared to what they are today. Making a decision as important as this based around what a load of dead guys decided nearly half a century back is ridiculous. And the game has moved on in those 40 years as well, everyone bangs on about Norway being amazing but its so heavily taxed no-one can afford to do anything and Im pretty sure its continued success has a lot to do with it being outside of the EU, something which I personally think would be suicide for new Scotland. And finally, the UK government that "made an arse of everything" have also turned @*!# around to become one of the fastest growing post recession economies worldwide. We saved our banks (unlike Iceland or Cyprus), we didnt have to introduce increased tax rates (like Ireland) and we arent facing mass unemployment (Spain) or bankruptcy (Greece). They were also voted for, at least in part, by the Scottish populace so I dont really get why they are suddenly the main reason for a change. What can UK offer Scotland to stay? Everything its got already - excellent global trade links, batting well above our size as a political and economic power, existing legal, welfare and judiciary systems, defence and police forces, a stable currency, all sorts. What are you going to gain? Potentially more localised political control (although it will still be the same democratic system i.e. at least 50% end up unhappy), potentially more tax income (although that could just as easily go the other way if the big boys start squeezing new Scotland) but a whole lot more risk that if the @*!# does hit the fan theres no UK, no EU and no nothing to act as a safety net. Neil - if Im honest, as a totall impartial bystander Ive found the "Yes" sympathisers a lot more aggressive, believe it or not most of England doesnt really give a toss as we arent anything to do with the result.

Thats the one, I think "heavily modified" probably covers it Phil was a top guy to deal with, I dont know how things ended up though, hope hes OK

That Nismo R one was the one I saw on Tuesday, Ive got a widearch thing with stupid wheels, you would know it if you saw it How awesome was the weather BTW, I cant believe how good it was out there There was a white car on Tuesday with a widearch thing going on, hed gone by the time I went looking too!
-
Carbon boot, carbon bonnet, rims and all manner of other stuff including a Nismo numberplate. Came to find you in the afternoon (I was in the blue widearch Z33) but you had gone I think

If you dont have enough to replace the standard engine immediately then FFS dont start looking into V8's and FI. IF youre adamant that youre going to keep it, put a DE in and save the lairy stuff for when youve got the coin.

Nice car for an old bloke like you First one I drove I was rather underwhelmed by, we didnt go full retard with the M buttons and it was in traffic so couldnt really let is loose too much. The two Ive driven since I set to maximum attack mode then drove like my trousers were on fire and they are like a different car, TBF M cars always need to be caned to get the best out of them and these arent any different. I very much doubt youre going to regret it TBH, nice work

Used to recommend Cambridge Performance but then they cross threaded a wheel nut on my 306 meaning the wheel nearly fell off at Rockingham .......... didnt mention it or the handbrake they cocked up but did make a point of telling me I needed new discs, WTF? Go to Stortford.
-
Not really going to tell you if you need arch work though. www.rimtuck.com is much better for what will work and what will need work

If compression is reducing its usually down to valves or rings - you would notice a slight reduction in performance but probably not that much, youd be more likely to notice it not ticking over right, become difficult to start first. In theory unless something physically broke off and ended up in combustion chamber or bottom end the engine would continue to run until compression was so low it wouldnt start, its not likely to explode though. For true catastrophic engine failure you need a bottom end to go (rod thrown out of block, crank melted, flywheel explosion) and then tend to come on without much warning, which all adds to the fun IMO

Im at Spa tomorrow with a mate who drives a 182 Cup and other than long straights theres nothing between my coilovered, wide tyred, uprated brakes 350Z and his pretty much stock car. Youd be surprised ..........

Ekonas right, selling one £30K car and then buying a (slower) one to track makes absolutely no sense to me, just buy a Clio or an MX5 or similar and have megaLOLS for cheap
-
Engines dont gradually slow down, if anything they get quicker before they go pop all of a sudden, theres rarely any giveaway before the black smoke Sounds to me like you dropped a rod, this is usually following catastrophic big end failure which could be anything, make sure you get a picture of the hole in the block for posterity

Im actually speechless at this, if you really believe that then you seriously need to pull your head out Salmonds arse. Jesus.
-
You sure you got in the right car? TTRS is a 5 cylinder and doest sound too bad IMO: I know that one is modified but I bet its not much more than a chip and an exhaust, Ive read you can get 430hp from just that. Frankly I dont think its comparable even to the 370ZN (TTS is) and Im still laughing a day after reading that people are actually comparing 1M's and Cayman R's to 370Z's, Ive caned all three and trust me, ze Germans are considerably better (and more expensive funnily enough)
-
This sums it up for me - Salmond has said that if the Scots gain independence, they will have Control over the business tax system Control over Air Passenger Duty Control over employment policy Control over immigration policy Except the EU (which he has also said they will be a member of) actually decides all of that. Which is it then Al, or are you just saying whatever comes in your head to win votes? I also saw this the other day: Power Generation and Farming isnt exactly diversity ........ particularly when the same list makes a point of how underpopulated Scotland is compared to the rest of the UK, hence why farming and power generation end up there in the first place. Services, production, construction, financial sector, medicine/pharma, tourism and entertainment are all missing from that list and yet they are trying to mke a point of how diverse business and industry are .......... mmmm OK.

I bought a clean Grale for £2500 a few years ago, a mate bought a 996GT3 CS for £25K about 10 months ago, hes already made £10K on it I reckon. Even Ferrari Dinos were cheap as chips once upon a time, its when the numbers dwindle that the prices start jumping back up again, recent examples including Toyota Supra, S13 200SX, R32 Skylines to name but 3. Theres a lot of Zeds, they are quite juicy, not cheap to run and have been superceded by a new model (thats also depreciating) so they are going to do exactly what everything else like that does, depreciate until there arent many left and then go straight back up again

Because anyone with a bit of knowledge of motorsport would already know ............. anyway, Im off home, Il leave you to it

The series is V8 Supercars where every team and 95% of the drivers are Australian. The point I was making is that the only time they race outside of Aus is when V8 Supercars go on tour. Corvettes last year alone won drivers, team and constructors championship in ALMS, won the LM 24 hours every year between 01 and 06 (with 4 1-2 finishes) and are used in GT racing all over the place as they have been for years and years.
-
They are (nearly) all in the same race series, thats why. Mainly because despite their "heritage" they have only ever raced in one series apart from a few cameos, where Vettes have raced and won in just about everything everywhere. Great argument well made there
-
1) Holdens havent ever raced outside of Australia, so unless youre into Fosters and wearing a vest they are @*!#. 2) A Corvette was a boat a long time before it was a car 3) A 2003 Vette weighs nearly 500lb less than a 2003 Monaro, thats nearly as much as your Mum
-
Best cut them legs off your horse then mate, V2 was based on the Commodore which itself was based on the Omega B, which as you know was badged as a Vauxhall in the UK ...........
