Bump again, I think its ebay for this one now though

Before they shafted you yah? About the price of a GTR thanks. You can imagine my reaction to this crowdfunding bollocks, quite apart from the businesses that lost money there were 250 odd people who lost their jobs and didnt get paid ......... but at least they got to run two totally uncompetitive cars with their £2.4m

I own www.exceltechnicalconsulting.com, its a recruitment company specialising in aircraft technicians and composite (generally carbon fibre) production guys. We currently have guys building Toyota, Audi and Porsche WEC cars, a few F1 projects, racing yachts and OE stuff for Porsche, Caterham F1 were a major client of ours too, were being the operative word So if you know any aircraft engineers or composite production guys looking for work ...........

docwra replied to BulletMagnet's topic in Off Topic Discussion
No you dont, they are only bothered if you are working in UK. You will need to register with ze Germans but your new employer will sort that out for you Have you got your security pass yet, if not prepare for much fun -
If you want to pay £150 for lunch go for your life Lunch in Brasserie was EUR 12 IIRC.

I always thought it was better to drive with TC off and Ive got another mate who is the same, it just feels a bit sharper

If its EUR 595/GBP 437.5 then thats mega pricey, the excellent Circuit Days are offering Spa at £280 If you havent been to Spa though, do it, easily the best circuit Iv driven - Ill definitely be back again later this year Pouhon can be done sideways in 4th if you have the inclination, and Eau Rouge can just about be done flat in a 350Z but it took me 2 whole days to summon up the courage

Youve seen it, you already know Dont get me wrong, of course you can drive without TC but its nice to know theres a safety net there, just in case -

For 500hp cars that are driven in the wet, Im afraid Ill beg to differ unless you want to spend all your time doing 2K rpm in 6th. Actual decent TC (see RLTC, anything OE that isnt Japanese) means you can still enjoy a monster car in less than perfect conditions without having the Grim Reaper sat next to you all the time, its sooooo easy just to go a bit too far, hit a bump while youre correcting and interface with something unexpected that youd end up shitting it in anything other than perfect conditions. However ........ Youd be suprised, its a very progressive car and if youre confident it can really move in the wet -
Apparently my first word was "mini" .......... while pointing to said small vehicle as it travelled past. I think they knew they had a petrolhead on their hands after that

So was I, I found plenty of Gen1 cars with the later engine about for £16-18K, its the Gen2 that attracts the extra

Post 2008 cars dont suffer IMS or bore scoring

Buy a Cayman or a 135i

Its a no brainer for me, when pikeys are happy to cut out cats they wont think twice about taking 4 alloys they can weigh in for 50 quid either. For the sake of a £15 set of lockers it stops the opportunists, its difficult to remove 4 locking nuts without making a shedload of noise as well

Cambridge and all I can say is not Marshalls

IS-F was pretty awesome, RC-F is a bit ugly IMO. And heavy. And the M4 isnt.

Fair comment - I actually chose the 350Z over an S15 Silvia as I knew with the latter Id end up on another never ending path of throwing money at a car and getting pi**ed off when it broke, a 350Z was more expensive and more difficult to modify. It ended up looking the way it does after I drove it into a ditch, otherwise it would probably have had the handling mods and some nice rims but not the bodykit, paint and arches. This came from having had a number of very nice cars, and over time throwing away money making them less comfortable, less reliable and more expensive to run, as well as probably losing at least 4 months every year while stuff was being done to them. Sure, my 1 is modified but not in any lifechanging way and I only started looking at them as I wanted a 100% standard car to replace the 350 with. Im not saying dont modify a car (hell, Id get lynched on Driftworks and SXOC) but I am saying be very aware of what youre getting into, as I said if youre wavering at the moment then youll be distraught after 8 months of not having the car and a hole in your wallet twice as big as youd expected -

I got 10K change out of £25K and Id fancy my chances against a TT 370, never mind the "old model" 350z For me, if you have to ask then its not worth doing - it will take time, more money than your budgeting and then even more money on suspension and brakes, none of which youll see back again realistically. As Dan said, if youre a hobbyist who can offset the labour costs then it might be worth doing but if its a chequebook job you can just buy a newer, faster, better car. Theres also the other thing - after 10+ years of drifting and regular trackdays in a variety of stuff up to 5/600hp I consider myself a pretty experienced driver, and I still get scared by my 135, not everyone has the ability to actually drive a 500hp car and in some cases it would just be downright dangerous. Do you really want to drop £15K on a car and then only run it at 75% because it scares the @*!# out of you? Modified cars are great, but they are very personal things, often painful and always expensive. Kinda like a 2 month trekking holiday in Nepal, its a great experience and certainly rewarding but 2 weeks on a beach in Bali will be cheaper and more fun in the long run -
Then you may as well use Admiral's recommendation in the first place, Ive no doubt that Nissan will use the cheapest local firm they can get away with TBH.

I really dont know why people give advice when they dont actually know the answer ........... Anyway, Kraziekatz and Hads are right, you can choose a place yourself - if its on their list then they will usually agree straight away, if not they may need to do some checking but usually come back with a The only thing to bear in mind is if you use a bodyshop of your choice you tend to lose your excess until the claim is settled and that can often take a while, but at least you know its gonna be done right

Check out Rota GTR's 17's are too small and those sizes are too narrow, youll find a 19 inch GTR will do the same job admirably

Cheeky bump, has now had welding done and rear brake pipes for MoT (which is sailed through), any takers at £1250??
-
Bump, still here, I might even take less than £8K if youre lucky .....

WARNING POSSIBLE SCAM ON PH05 ROD...

The bank account is the only "real" information there and banks cant give those details out - I know, we misdirected a payment the other day and we just have to write it off as the receiver is refusing to let us know who he is and the bank cant. So youre basically asking the police to find a person with no information other than a bank account which has probably been closed now - no description, no address, no telephone numbers, you dont even really know what part of the country they are from. Im not saying the police shouldnt investigate, of course they should but I dont agree with the "the police are rubbish" comments when they have so little information to go on. -
