Surely not?!! :scare: ;) This was all I was saying, the good quality fakes are good quality enough to fool anyone until they are actually touching it.

Next Norfolk-Yarmouth Mini Meet 22nd September 2019
docwra replied to TimC's topic in Local Meets Across The UK
Proper late to the party here and apologies if its been mentioned, but I went to the Caister Castle Car Collection yesterday, it ould make a superb place for a meet Id have thought Unlikely Id come (its over an hour and a half rfom me) but thought Id suggest it, I was pretty amazed with how much they had there -
In 15+ years on forums this is probably the first time Ive seen a manufacturer do this, fair play to you Jerrick Ill certainly be speaking to you when Im next looking for some suspension, do you do anything for E82 BMW's?
-
LIES!!!! I know this is the case without even having to see your watch, obviously. OK then watch experts, here are three watches for you, which are real, which are fake?
-
RAC, and every time Ive had to call Ive told them the car is low and been fine, but its pot luck at the end of the day. They wont damage a car by trying to tow it when its not going to work, but you might end up waiting for quite a few hours while they sort a low loader thing for you.
-
L2D arent usually too bad, sounds like youve had a bad one mate
-
Whatever mate, Ive got the watches and the handbags, you dont so its pretty difficult for you to judge. And anyway, I said "You can tell if you pick them up but from just looking I dont think so" ........... if your eyesight is good enough to tell a pukka ceramic bezel from the other side of the room you are probably wasted in your current job
-
No I cant We arent talking about £5 off the lucky lucky man stuff here complete with comedy misspelled names, Im talking about a watch that my local watchmaker was fooled by until it was actually in his hands, and a handbag that fooled a casual collector until she had a decent look inside it. Hence "genuine fake" and not just "fake", these are quality articles that are rebranded to look like somethign they arent.
-
I must not have met anyone who knew what they were talking about then, including people in handbag and watch shops. You can tell if you pick them up but from just looking I dont think so. And theres plenty of 6 spoke wheel designs but only one TE37
-
I laughed the first time I heard the term too, but its actually a pretty good one - these are generally speaking fairly high quality items (the handbags are nearly indistinguishable) that have a different label on them - they are still £80 of watch, but they are pretending to be £20K worth of watch. They are not to be confused with the stuff you used to get in the Costa Del Sol that disintegrated within 30 seconds of buying it, like I say, my mate Tommo has had some that have worked for 5+ years now ETA: I *KNEW* Rotas would come into this somewhere
-
I wouldnt, TBF Ive not spent time with one on a Z33 but every other version Ive known has left my ears bleeding.
-
I think he expects to hand over some £££ with the car - cheers for the wheel info wlkz, missed that post
-
Ive bought a few "genuine fakes" in Dubai, if you dont mind knowing youre wearing a fake they are pretty decent. My last one lasted about 2 years, my mate has some that are over 5 years old and still going now too. IIRC I paid about £50 for my last one (Patek too as it happens, you have good taste ) so £80 isnt out of the question The handbags Ive bought the missus have been excellent though, definitely recommend them ETA: Ive only bought battery watches, not sure Id trust a cheap automatic not to break
-
More than that, they were designed, fabricated and fitted and then the bodykit was modified as well, it was a little more involved than a bit of archwork. Ive had previous cars where the fenders have been drilled and then pulled from the swage line down, its pretty impressive what a skilled feller can do If I were you, Id be scouring www.rimtuck.com and see what can be done, if youve already admitted to yourself youre going to have to have archwork then half the battle has already been won. Oh, and my car is for sale if youre interested too ETA: IMO, JUN style arch extenders like on the grey one look shyte, thats a lot of work for not a lot of gain.
-
I guess I should stick an oar in here. BTW, this is my car if you didnt know: When I was looking at fitting the wheels I looking into the various fender options and found that there were a few +30mm front fenders but next to nothing for the rear that didnt look gash. See here: http://www.duraflexb...-350z/duraflex/ - for reference my fronts are 10J ET -43 and the rears are 11.5 ET -15 (ish), I reckon my arches are about +70mm. Your realistic options are either to get the arches pulled and flared LIKE THE LORD, get metal ones made or buy a full widebody kit (which I also think looks pretty gash but each to their own) ............ or you could buy wheels that fit, but who wants to do that??
-
 "Using the phone" appeared to be no more than about 2 seconds checking something, I reckon he was probably turning the camera on. "Driving like an idiot" - how do you know? He appeared to be going quickly, but I wouldnt want to convict the guy on the view of some trees above his head.
-
If hes changed top mounts then Id be amazed if the alignment is identical, also, how old are the Bilsteins? Are the spring rates the same as well? Regardless though, fair play for doing this, shows a lot of faith in your product and hopefully will provide some interesting results

I run a recruitment company, 8 weeks isnt long by any standards. If you want good people you often have to wait, Ive known of people with year long notice periods before now.
-
Nope, still kicking about and a lot cheaper now as well
-
E92 M3 is spectacular, but the IS-F, C63 and XF-R are all definitely worth a look as well. I did look, and ended up with a 135i coupe that makes M3's look like they are standing still and feels a lot smaller so better for hustling /crackedrecord
-
Heres another one thats for sale, its quite a bit cheaper too
-
Im still amazed with the HSD's on my 350, they really do seem to be all things to all men - great on broken surfaces, great on track and very comfortable on everything inbetween for next to bugger all money. In comparison the Bilstein shocks Ive got my 1er are too soft, lack control and feel like they are worn out, on track I predict the car will be pitching about like a gecko on ketamine From what Ive read BC's are very good as well, the best Ive used personally were DW CS2's on an S13 which were just lovely .......... but Id definitely want to try KW V3's or maybe talking to MeisterR about the Nitron things they do. BTW, its no coincidence that the cost of those coilovers went up as you continued reading
-
2, a vert with DSG which I really didnt like much, it felt a bit skittish on the road and almost unpredictable, and a manual that I had a decent smash about of and really liked - it didnt feel that fast to me but as you say the chassis is something special. Ive actually driven more E92's than E46's though! I still lean towards the 350Z's characteristics (certainly on coilovers anyway), more of a poleaxe to an M3's cutlass if you like, I just find it a bit more fun. Ive long said the E46 M3 is the best car in the world though, until E92's are under 10K Ill stick with that.
-
I think Ive found the issue lads - some people havent driven a Cayman Im sorry Mike, but I struggle to see how someone can write that much about a car without actually driving it, would I be right in saying you havent driven an E46 M3 as well? Without getting into the value debate, look back over the whole thread, its pretty obvious who has driven/owned a Cayman and who hasnt, we are actually all agreeing here ............ 350Z's are great cars and cracking value, but they are not as dynamically good as a Cayman is.
