  1. Painless for road use, but Torsen style, doesnt work the same as a 1.5 or 2 way. I definitely prefer a proper diff, but then I like going sideways
  2. No, the Kaaz is noisy and harsh, the GT Pro you dont even notice is there. If I was wanting a track diff then the Kazz would do, but for a roadcar the GT Pro is the boy
  3. Nismo GT Pro is an awesome bit of kit, that would be my recommendation
  4. Wash your mouth out. Buy a 1 series BMW instead, job done. And having done 3K km across Europe in a Mk7 Golf GTi I can confirm it feels quicker than a 350Z, definitely gets to 155mph quicker and is a cracking car, Id be VERY surprised if a Zed could live with a Golf R
  5. What Kyle is saying is that UK Nismo 350Z's are mechanically identical to non Nismo 350Z's, the only differences were in the aero.
  6. Dont agree with many here but then I rarely do ANY track experience is going to make you a better driver on the road, the more comfortable you are with dealing with an unexpected issue or understanding where your weight is, the better - it will also make you more confident which is never a bad thing. An MX5, although slower, is a shedload more fun than an E36 BMW and Id also say a Mk1 over a Mk2, they are cheaper and more of a laugh Never understood stripping cars either, you might save 50KG on soundproofing and stereo but if youre driving 2 hours each way then they are worth a lot more than 50KG, if youre going to the Nurburgring then ......... Also bear in mind that if the car is not going to be street legal youll need a trailer and a tow car as well, if it is legal its more tax insurance etc. as JP says. But as someone else said, why not use the Zed? You only damage it if you get it wrong, and even then at somewhere like Bedford you still have to be incredibly unlucky to hit anything, they are really good track cars and if you want to learn how to drive your 350 then its got to be the best choice
  7. Yes, and if you dotn have an LSD Id get it done ASAP, the car really benefits fromit
  8. Yep, sqw what was probably the same guys by the side of the A11 near mine the other day, just looked too dodgy so I gave them a nice wave as I drove past
  9. Yeah, but look at recent results and we (Eng, Ire, Wal) have had the measure of the Southern Hemisphere sides in the last few meetings, we just didnt bring it to this particular party. I like Farrell at number 10, I totally agree that Flood is the more creative player but Farrell is better in and around the breakdown for me, and obviously his kicking is superb, for me the centres and wingers need to be doing more to mix things up a bit. I think you misunderstood me on the coaching thing, no doubt youve watched the Japanese games ......... I dont think anyone would argue they have more talent than us, but their ball moving, discipline and just their hunger make us look rubbish, and that shouldnt be the case when we are apparently in the running to win the tournament.
  10. Also know as a black catter - if you've got a black cat his one is even blacker. The incredible thing with this is that I actually once had a black catter trying to tell me their cat was actual blacker than mine in real life, irony or what? I have a similr issue with a mate, I love the guy but in the last couple of months hes told me his car is as quick as mine, and that he can take a certain corner (off the M11 onto A11 if youre interested) faster than I could in my very wide wheeled 350Z, a GTR or a Carrera 4S. He has an Astra VXR
  11. Yep, best team, and the team that wanted it more won, at least we werent robbed. The first 10 minutes were very positive, England playing out of the backs rather than trying to grind a result out and looking much better for it ......... and then slowly they started playing like boring, predictable England again and the Aussies are too good to fall for that, by 20 minutes the writing was on the wall for me I think youve got to look at the coaching staff, as Ive heard a few places we looked like the England football team - uninterested and not hungry enough - and thats unforgiveable when youve got that much talent on the pitch. Sad, but by betting against England Ive won about £180 this tournament, every cloud and all that
  12. Send me your address and Ill send you an M badge to put your car (or a GTR badge for your Nissan), then people will think its EVEN FASTER THAN IT ACTUALLY IS!!! :teeth: Sorry, but I agree with GMballistic, thats ridiculous. I bought mine entirely on the dynamics, it could look like a dog turd and Id still drive it. Audis and BMW's are some of the best looking cars on the road IMO, and if you think theres a lack of imagination then you obviously dont remember Martin Bangle Regardless, anyone who feels the need to slag down 50+ years of RWD cars with 50:50 weight distribution and some of the best engines ever created because they figured out branding before anyone else has probably missed the point.
  13. I dont think anyone is saying the staff dont do a great job and no-one is suggesting there have been any "unfair" bannings either, just that a bit of information wouldnt go amiss, and in a very few cases could actually be helpful in the future. Ive also not noticed any of the staff telling us why they wouldnt want to reveal the name of someone trying to rip off the club or its members, that bit I really cant understand
  14. The forum is run on a shoestring and by members (who, for those who are not already aware, are not paid in any form) and I dread to think what a solicitor would charge to draw up such a list, if indeed he had a fully working crystal ball, covering every potentual "line". Solicitor? Why do you need a solicitor, its a free to join car club Most forums have a list of rules, if you dont have the time to sort your own then feel free to nick mine: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?238944-SXOC-Rules-and-Regulations
  15. I don't see why we need to know - apart from being generally nosey and adding a tiny frisson of intrigue to our sad little lives Im not going to requote myself but see my post from the previous page, there is a world outside of 350Z-UK.com
  16. OK, you obviously know your stuff, so I wont bother telling you that a skim might sort them out, or that a secondhand set of Brembo discs are going to cost you less than buying brand new. My discs did 100K and were fine, I guess Im just lucky. If people want to go direct to traders and ask what they should do then more power to them, Im just pointing out that its often cheaper to get impartial advice and then make a decision.
  17. HSD's for me, but havent tried the other TBF
  18. I dont expect you to reply to this as youve already made the admin position clear, and trust me, Ive had more than my share of people questioning admin, but ......... ......... we operate in a community, and while most members will only use this board, there are quite a few that are on other boards as well, and Ive seen at least 10 or 15 guys come onto here after knowing them from elsewhere. If someone is banned for dodgy selling, or making threats against another member then why shouldnt that be common knowledge? If (for example) Whackywill turns up on the Babybmw forum and someone asks me about him, Im going to say hes a decent bloke, as thats all I know about him - if he then rips someone off for £200 on the basis of my word ........... likewise, if someone has been banned for threatening forum staff then it would be nice to know that before he starts doing the same on your forum. Thats the value, there have been a few scammers that have done the rounds of all of the forums that may not have been so successful if people had been a bit more open. They have been banned for not following rules, why protect their dignity as well?
  19. Like I say mate, not digging or having a go, Ive just seen people finish up with a load of stuff they didnt need before because they didnt ask the right question to the right person. Where a member will ask someone why they think they need new discs (or anything else) a trader generally wont, Im not saying the advice is bad in any way but it may not be accurate. Surely you have to ask why anyone with a 313 would need new discs already as well? Regardless, Ive said my bit, I
  20. Sorry to the traders in advance ......... .......... but this is why I dont think traders should be allowed to recommend products unless its a direct question. If the car isnt ever going to be used on track then theres no reason at all to replace the discs, even if it is going to go on track regularly the stock ones are more than capable. Likewise, the first piece of information you should have been given was to get braided lines and decent fluid on board, arguably this makes more difference than any of the combinations youve listed above. I notice no-one has mentioned DS2500 (which have been the uprated pad of choice for years) but someone has recommended EBC yellowstuff (which I wouldnt use on a pushbike) While I dont disagree with the advice youve also got a member recommending a trader he is affiliated with, thats hardly impartial on anyones scale ....... Dont get me wrong, the traders on here are excellent and do an absolutely superb job and Ive been quite open in praising them in the past, but obviously any trader is going to recommend what he sells over what his competition does, and there will always be a temptation to push stuff that might not be 100% essential as well. If youre interested, Id recommended braided lines, RBF600 and DS2500's, then you can take the missus out for a meal with the money you saved on discs, but its up to you
  21. You jest, but I know of at least 3 forums that have a usergroup for anyone who has been a prat where everything is very slow and occasionally crashes And no, you dont know if you are in it or not
  22. I have to say I agree, as well as the above it also lets other forum users know whats considered as acceptable and unacceptable, and shows that the staff are (hopefully) making reasonable decision on how to apply the rules.
  23. If her question is "how did my old man die?" then the answer is "by driving into a tree at 90mph" you dont need Porsche to answer that one. If her question is "Could Porsche have reasonably been expected to do more to prevent this kind of incident?" then the answer is "No, Porsche do not design cars to be driven into trees at 90mph" Heres a question for you Graham, in 2013 over 32,000 people died in the USA as a result of car accidents. Why didnt we have 32,000 law suits claiming the cars werent safe for purpose? Why is this one different? Is it because shes rich, and he was famous perhaps?
