  1. Paisley are a horrible, horrible company with horrible people working for them and about the worst rep you can get. Good luck I can get wheels sent through our TNT anywhere in UK for about £30, but I think we have discounts in place. Good luck again, youll probably need it
  2. The depreciation on an RC-F makes baby Jesus cry though .......... and the M3 is better
  3. So can @*!# ones, the various Ford CVH's I owned must have created their own oil, I certainly never put any in
  4. Hes a hell of a driver TBH, I had some epic battles with him in my all over the UK (and a few places in Europe as well) but it goes to show how good those Clios are, amazing little cars Theres a pic somewhere of both cars sideways with about 8 ft between them, cant say Id trust many people to twin drift FWD/RWD at the same time
  5. Sorry, but thats a ridiculous statement - even from the cars mentioned in this thread an M6, Maserati, 911 and a Mustang are all totally different experiences, even my current 4 seater is capable of performance very similar to a GTR but delivers it in a totally different way. You dont have to drive everywhere at 10/10ths either ......... which is where the GTR falls down for me, its doesnt feel special when doing 45 mph like a Maserati does. On paper its thirsty, unreliable, underpowered, poorly built and expensive to run. It looks nice, but does that make it more of a "Gentleman's car" than an XKR which does everything better for half the money, or a Cayman that does everything twice as well for the same money? Maybe Im old fashioned, but if youre spending a big lump of money like this you need to get out and try each option rather then relying on hearsay and conjecture. Im pretty confident if you did that youd end up with the Maserati but discounting a 40K sportscar because its "too fast" is mental.
  6. I dont know about 08's but I personally wouldnt pay more than 5K for a DE engined car these days, but then Im not really fussed about miles or service history. If that GT4 is on 100K+ miles then its perfectly feasible, if the 08 is Cat C or has 120K mile then its not a stretch by any means. At the end of the day they are impractical, difficult to mod (for power at least), dont have the cult following that Supras and Civics do, theyre a bit thirsty and have had 3 facelifts/new versions supercede them as well. When you consider how similar a DE is to an HR then Im with Ekona, the older cars are a bargain rather than cheap. Id imagine they will do an S2K/200SX and drop down to £2500/3K at the bottom end before coming back up to about £5K, the roadsters will be a bit more as theres less competition but any 350 with decent miles on it is going to suffer in value.
  7. The Jamaicans dont test in off season ....... and win everything they enter. Coincidence? A mate of mine was a International level powerlifter, he had a pretty meteoric rise until he became UK under 23 champion ........ and then he stopped. I asked him why, as he obviously had a lot of talent, and he said it was simply because the juice was legal in European and World competition, and as someone who refused to use it he wouldnt be able to get close to the top. Thats bloody sad if you ask me.
  8. Aye, Cookie Monster has to appear somewhere on the car. Youre going to need lows as well, unless the engine isnt fitted at the moment
  9. Not always We actually ended up twin drifting it at one point, that was mad. Two best pieces of track advice I ever got given (the other guys have got the prep bit nailed): 1. If something appears in your mirror, he is going faster than you - let him past. 2. If you come off the track, you only have yourself to blame. You can have just as much fun at 95% as 100% but its a lot less expensive in the long run.
  10. I think the words "master technician" have a lot to do with it, a quick google shows the youngest has 5.5 years experience which would give me at least a fair amount of experience - I know theres only a certain number allowed to work on the GTR's as well (see also BMW M cars). Theres also a level of confidence in that they would have been interviewed and chose to work in an indy rather than there because they havent spilled any oil on the floor for 6 weeks
  11. Dont know if it was mentioned earlier but the latest Cayman is an absolutely magnificent car, Im trying to justify one to myself at the moment ....... and I know you said no BMW's but theres an M2 now, its not a normal Bimmer
  12. Missed the last two updates but all is looking good - I spent many a happy drift day at Mallory. Gerards is a mighty corner (1/3 mile) and I still remember the first time I went round the whole thing sideways, the Devlis Eyebrow is always a bit of fun when on the limit too Silverstone will be good, which circuuit are you doing?
  13. I had the alternator belt go on a trackday and didnt actually realise ........ until I tried to drive home the next day and battery died, leaving me somewhat stranded. If the belt is actually going to break you can usually smell the burning rubber, but Id definitely get it sorted ASAP, while PAS and AC arent a problem, alternator is.
  14. You know when people claim they are posting "car porn" and its usually just a shiny thing with a reasonable bodykit? This actual car porn. Been tempted to go for years but never quite got round to it, maybe next year will be the one .........
  15. If youre serious then contact Fake Ben Taylor, I know he has been doing a lot of research on the US boards and Im sure Ive heard mention of 380 @ wheels with headwork, compression, cams, mapping, headers etc.
  16. RJN reckoned they were seeing close to 430hp from their GT4 car ....... but it was a race engine TBF.
  17. SRSLY though, what a bunch of old women Anyway, carry on, this is entertaining
  18. We had something similar on the forum I look after, the club just contacted the trader in question and told him to wind his neck in. The club exists for the owners, not the traders and they sometimes need reminding of that
  19. Drive them both and it will be obvious, the Z4 isnt going to depreciate either. Only thing Id add is that a Z4 35i is quicker in a straight line and with a few chassis mods will handle very similarly as well ....... and with a remap will see well over 400hp/500 lb/ft
  20. Shocking how few people seem to understand how insurance works, theres no hard and fast anything, youre either high risk or youre not depending on age, vehicle, location, profession and all sorts. You might be 18 with 1 month experience and be able to get a quote of £300 on a Zed but it doesnt mean a 24 year old living somewhere else with the same car would. Like Stew said, the value of the car doesnt make a difference either, Ive had 3PFT quote come out higher than FC on the same vehicle, work that out. A broker friend of mine says its down to the comparison sites, they just use averages for everything so while the 45 year old Mondeo owner living in Northampton gets a good deal they cannot handle anomalies, you need to find a broker
  21. We arent talking about OAPs that are a bit slow and annoying, we are talking about OAPs that arent safe to be behind the wheel and finish up driving into stuff, including people, and are potentially deadly.
  22. Im sorry to hear that but youve said it yourself - he was drunk and on the phone. A 92 year old with failing sight and much slower reactions is dangerous all of the time .......... and whats worse, any pensioner thats driving with these issues is in denial as well. Both of my Grandads gave up driving because they didnt feel they were safe anymore but from what I can gather they are in a minority. Like Jetset says, you wouldnt give a license out to someone who admits they only have 50% vision, so why can someone whose eyes have deteriorated to a greater extent keep theirs indefinitely?
  23. I dont agree, I had 10 ET -18 that only just cleared the rears and IIRC needed at least 15mm to clear the fronts, we ended up going with 25mm spacers in the end. For anyone that remember it, this is why my car ended up widearched, it wasnt supposed to be but I bought the wheels before getting my tape measure out
  24. I think the consensus on this page at least is to use Trading Standards, the Sale of Goods Act and Moneyclaim to get your money back, unless it was paid for entirely by credit card I cant see how thats going to help you. It might take a while but Ive never known anyone lose out following the right path with soemthing like this
  25. I hate to be that guy, but is it really surprising that replacing 10 year old shocks with brand new coilovers gives a 5% reduction in laptime or have I missed something?
