Black mercedes SLK Coupe L*63, unmarked police car
docwra replied to Kraziekatz1's topic in Spotted or Flyered
They didnt ever give them out in the first place, they were usually publicity stunts. Theyve done a few: but .......... the police cars in Dubai are genuine, including a One-77, an MP4-12C, a Brabus C63 and a Veyron. Might have look into what it takes to become a pursuit driver in Dubai then ....... -
Now thats a bloody good suggestion, Project Managers often dont have to have any specific knowledge other than how to manage a project so those that do have an engineering, IT or production background tend to be very attractive in those industries. Prince2, 6S/Lean, PMP etc could well be worth a look as theres still a lot of number crunching but its a lot more likely to dovetail with what youre doing at the moment

Pointless without knowing where you live

Dude, I own a recruitment company - bookkeepers fall into the same category as accountants, just at the bottom end of the scale. My guys would be able to walk into a bookkeeping job most places, and use that as a platform to move into something more akin to "true" accountancy, they would certainly be more attractive than someone who didnt have any bookkeeping at all. Theres not a lot of office based skills that will allow you to walk into a reasonably paid job without any qualifications, but bookkeeping/Sage does IMO. Likewise, there arent a lot of jobs that will pay you £80K without any specific qualifications, thats what I was getting at.
-
I know a guy who never completed his AAT thats now taking £80K as a Management Accountant, Ive also trained myself and my staff to use Sage and they arent on a bad crack either. Not everyone wants to suffer 4 years of exams and reading boring ass tax legislation, it doesnt mean that they cant be accountants of some sort though. For balance I should also add that one of my best mates completed his ACCA and had his own practice by the time he was 26 and has been driving brand new M3's and Porsches while spending money like water ever since
-
And the GTR clearly isnt standard judging by the seats and the half cage, the 991 GT3 is clearly a lot quicker than the 997 GT3 was. Nice.
-
Finding Sage bookkeepers is difficult at the moment so you wont go short of work once youve got the skills. Id pay £25K for a good, experienced bookkeeper, a bit more for an AAT qualified management accountant, maybe £30K ....... and then the sky is the limit depending on what you want to specialise in

Mmmm, I think road engines and the current F1 engines arent actually very similar, the integration between the various generators and storage devices has to be a nightmare, its a bit more complicated than a cambelt anyway Honda make some pretty decent race engines for bikes ........... oh, and BTCC, WTCC, SuperGT, Indycar and F1 Powerboats, what else do you want? The Alfa is very high on my list, the fast version is rumoured to be around 500hp and powered by a Ferrari engine, if thats true I dont need to know much more
-
Im sure youve checked with your doc already but when they brought the law in they said that it shouldnt adversely affect anyone using precription drugs in line with the prescription they had been given, could be worth looking into?

Too much variety for anything to be hard and fast, there was an ITV thing a few years ago where they went to your average pub and breath tested about 20 people and there was no pattern at all - a girl that had a single alcopop failed but a guy who had 5 double scotches passed. The morning after is even worse - a guy I know went on a bender on a Friday night finishing up about 6am, so stayed at his mates house all day Saturday rather than drive home. Had another couple that evening, then got up early on Sunday to drive to work. Got pulled, failed, lost license and job as a bus driver Sad thing is he was anal about D+D, and even then got busted, poor bugger. As Ive always said, I personally think for drink (and drugs) a sobriety test is a lot fairer as "the limit" is such an unknown quantity.

Hi, first time 350Z owner (drifter) looking for advice.
docwra replied to GethinD's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
OK, Im happy to play if you want to If you really can get "all the info you need" can I get the how to guide on shimming a diff or changing the ramp angle myself? What about ideal drift alignment settings for an AE86? Info on whether you can still drift at Bovingdon and how you go about sorting it? How about which driftschool is the best for a beginner? Hell, I never did find out who the UK importer for a Nismo GT Pro was, I know where to go now I didnt mean to cause any offence (to Grundy at least ) but I also dont feel that all the info youll need can be found on a single FB page either. Something like "get involved and join the fun" or "weve got a fair few 350Z drifters", fair enough, but when theres information that I cant find on Driftworks after 11 years on there .......... Apologies, hijack over, carry on -

Dude, chill ....... all I was saying is there is info available places other than the Team Tarmac FB page. www.driftworks.com/forum springs to mind for some reason ......... -
JESUS. It doesnt matter what the problem is, under consumer rights you can return the car and get a full refund. Unless you want a car with an engine rebuilt by someone who doesnt car much for his customers, of course, in which case you can return it, wait 2 months and potentially go through the whole saga again.
-
So you write a letter (post 25), and when you dont have a refund 14 days after the seller has received it you use moneyclaim online. A car with a blown up engine cant really be disputed but regardless you have the right to return it without giving any opportunity to repair as its clearly not fit for purpose under Consumer rights Act (assuming it was bought after 10/15). How does that differ to anything Ive posted?

Yeah, because there arent any other drifter apart from Team Tarmac ............ OP, you have picked an excellent car, it will make the S and R chassis feel rev obsessed and snappy. If you can stretch to it a 2 way would be much better than a welder, Ive heard of snapped driveshafts from cars running welders. As for the rest, fully agree, if youve got some seat time behind you then youll notice the limited lock straight away and my handbrake was beyond useless, the long term plans need to be how to fit a decent number of wheels in it and losing some weight, Ive long said it but at 1250KG with a 2 way and coilovers the Z33 would be about as close to the perfect non ground up built driftcar as you could find. -
A true 130 on track is FAST, your work seems to be paying off mate
-
No mate, they are generally businesspeople who are subject to very tight legislation that protects their customers. The people that buy broken cars from them and then fail to follow the proper channels have only got themselves to blame.
-
This, and just this. No solicitors needed, no engine inspections, no trading standards, no additional time, effort or money required, the car has died within 28 days so will almost certainly be considered not fit for purpose whether you checked the oil or not. I know people are only trying to help but theres some dodgy advice going on here.
-
When people can walk round the countryside loosing off firearms, fly 10KG of drone about without any prior training or drive 3 tonnes of car at 70mph whereveer they like its probably not that bad relatively speaking
-
The bit that put me off was the engine work needed to make the most of it, thats where the money is
-
You knew what I meant
-
Not a lot, probably the IS-F, Evo X .......... and thats it. But then again theres not much that isnt Japanese I would buy either, I think cars in general have just got more boring
-
Since 2002 (last year for FD, R34 and Supra) ........ S2K, RX8, S15, Lexus GS, Altezza, R34, Lexus SC, Lexus IS-F, Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Mark II/JZX/Verossa/Chaser/Mark X, Mitsubishi Eclipse.
-
Something badly wrong there, even pattern pads should do a track day and be drivable on afterwards. Buy something better, I found Carbon Lorraine RC5+ to be incredibly good, Ive got Pagid RS29 on another car at the moment and as Alex says the Stoptech's are bloody good too, although Ive not used them myself. If youre doing track work it pays to get the good stuff, it might be more expensive but it last a lot longer and performs massively better
-
Maserati Granturismo, Aston Vantage or ...... Decision P8
docwra replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in Other Cars
Youre a straight line hero then, fair enough - just buy a 1500hp Supra and youll never have to replace it An S2K, 350Z or RX8 are all a far more enjoyable drive than a mk2 MR2 IMO, they have more communicative chassis and generally better handling and the lack of power makes you work harder as well, if youre rejecting them on straight line pace alone youre only using 10% of the cars potential in the first place. Having driven a couple of GTR's, while they are great cars I cant see how you wouldnt know where to go next, theres plenty of stuff thats more fun, better to be in, more of an event to drive, handles better, is better on track etc. ........... but if the GTR owner had never driven much else in anger then I suppose that makes sense. Hell, Ive got a Mk3 MR2 that Id walk straight past a GTR to dick about in on a track day but then again Im not just about the straight lines
