Mate, read the link. Rather than just buy off the shelf parts and bolt them onto the car, he originally flow tested the head and carried out some porting/matching, and this part focuses more on cams, valves and finds out that the bottleneck is actually the plenum intakes. Ever heard anyone in the UK say that? Funny old thing ..........

Ricky - youve got history with modded cars, is this not enough for you? http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/engine/modp-1303-nissan-350z-vq35de-engine-build/ The guys is THE MAN in US VQ circles, I really dont think he would have got away with bullshitting for this long TBH ........

Which neither have you certainly not experience, perhaps our tuners have a better experience than all of us combined on this thread, obviously not, they dont know how to tune na power apparently. OK, enough of this bitching. We dont know how to tune N/A here, the stock answer is always "its not worth it" and that was what I used to say to people ......... until I took a bit of time to talk to Ben about it and look into the research he has done. I CBA to check but I imagine he has linked up the the guys in the States that are seeing 340+ whp from NA engines, so if a couple of lads in their big American garajjjes can do it then you do have to ask the question why Abbey, Horsham etc cant. Id also say its a pretty fair assumption that someone who is asking about headers and true N/A tuning will have spent the £500 and couple of hours doing the 350Z BPU's that are quoted on here pretty much every day. Experience? In the past he has fitted a V8 to an S13, did his own adjustments to get the roll centres and other geo correct and then went and won the Time Attack handling challenge (with a ringer driver TBF) and then went onto spaceframe the front end of it. I know there are guys here that have done some modifications, but not like that. Flame away, but the vast majority of owners on here have extremely limited tuning experience and generally just walk into a tuners and ask "how much?", to start picking at a guy who has made his own modificed cars and has taken the time to research and speak to guys over the pond that are at the cutting edge of VQ35 tuning is probably exactly why we are so far behind over here. EDIT: to give you a nice example, about 10 years ago people were saying that an SR20 couldnt handle more than 330hp without forging, manifolds and a shitload of cash thrown at it. I can now pick one up and make it 450hp for less than £1500. Technology moves forward, sure, but knowledge moves a lot more quickly if youre prepared to listen.

Its not really a "track" though, its pretty tight in some parts and doesnt do the uberpower cars any favours. Comparisons done on real circuits are generally a better indicator IME

I saw a CLA45 in Belgium the other day - proper nice, and thats coming from someone who doesnt like the look of the CLA

People do, car enthusiasts shouldnt and I like to think the people here are car enthusiasts My Dads old boss once walked over 2 miles in the rain (he was a fat bugger too) because he refused to travel in a Ford. Now thats taking it to extremes

4 seats, tuneability, practicality, pinnacle of JDMness and lowish residuals if youre buying secondhand. Look, Im not saying that a GTR is a bad car - its not, its awesome and Id shake anyone who chose to buy one by the hand. What Im saying is that for most normal, god fearing people who dont already own Nissans, Porsche as a name carries a lot more prestige and positive association than Nissan does. Im not making any judgement on anyone who chooses one over the other but I cant accept that people will actively steer clear of a Porsche because of the badge and walk across the street to the Nissan garage instead because of its more positive perception as a 70K car to the general public. Jaguar, Mercedes ........ even Tesla, fine, but not Nissan.
-
So you are saying that you'd drop £70K on a sportscar and consider what people think about it is more important than how good it is to drive? And that when youre in the pub telling people you spent £70K on a Nissan rather than £70K on a Porsche people are going to pat you on the back and tell you that you made the right decision? Maybe we knock about with different people but around here a Porsche is a Porsche, no-one will point and laugh and call you a wally for buying one instead of a Nissan, particularly when the current version is being hailed as one of the best drivers cars ever. Dont get me wrong, GTR is awesome but I think youre picking the wrong fight by suggesting the Nissan name holds more positives than Porsche does. ETA: Anyone that gives me the "poor mans Porsche" bollocks should remember what that dickhead Clarkson said about 350Z's originally.

LOL, if you want another pair of rears I know where some are living Ill speak to a few and let you know mate
-
Mother of god, it seems it really does take all sorts. The GTR is a big, heavy 4 seater that feels like an A4 to drive unless youre on maximum attack, suffice to say the Cayman doesnt. 370Ad, I can see your point but what if you dont get IMS (like 95% of owners dont) .......... or if you buy a car with a DFI engine (post Jun 08)?
-
What, the one that everyone, even Porsches, get out the way of when it appears in the RVM? I do get what youre saying, but I also think theres a tendency to project your own view of what you drive onto other people, Im as bad as the next guy for it. There aint no way IMO that Joe Soap is going to pick a Nissan over a Porsche, be that presence, cred, image, reputation, history or status
-
You remember those bumper stickers "my other car is a Porsche"? Do you remember seeing many saying "My other car is a Nissan"? Trust me, to your average man (or more importantly lady) in the street one is a Porsche ....... and you said there was another car somewhere?
-
Klitschko didnt turn up, he just seemed scared of Furys punch. Shame, as Vlad is a proper legend IMO and Fury is a chancer, as we will all see when he fights Haye. Or anyone else.
-
What sizes are you after, I know of a few pairs kicking around.
-
Hang about, the reason he chose the garage he did was because it had a large "Nissan" sign on it and boasts of the quality of the training of their technicians then Id certainly make them aware - this isnt just bad service, this is a misdiagnosis that has cost a Nissan customer time and money. I dont doubt that you wont receive payment direct from Nissan UK, but when one of their own franchisees repeatedly misdiagnosis a car and then gets very awkward I think a complaint to head office is definitely worth a punt, you may find they suddenly become a lot easier to deal with.

Having driven a 2015 Cayman S and a GTR in relatively short space of time, the GTR does not even come close being the weapon the Cayman is. Best road car Ive ever driven, so balanced, responsive, communicative and bastard fast too. If you dont need 4 seats but take the R35 over the 981 then you are mad. And Im sorry, but anyone telling me a Nissan has more road presence than a Porsche .......

Unless you have a 1990's Saab with Trionic engine management, thats the only car I know of that will detect the octane rating of the fuel you are using and adjust timing (and possibly boost and fuelling) to suit automatically.

And riding horses. They dont mind getting a bit cold, wet or muddy either and are often a bit posh too, the only downside is that her old man invariably owns a gun
-
That will probably be because a 17 -21 year old driver is at least 20,000 times more likely to be stopped than a 55+ driver

More than 4 pages on "View New Content"
docwra replied to docwra's topic in Forum IT Issues & Bug Reporting
OK then, do you want to change the default search setting from "the last 24 hours" to "the last week"? -
Just come back from a few days in Europe and notice that "View New Content" is only 4 pages, so finishes at 1823 last night. Any chance of increasing number of pages? Youll get more page hits and more forum traffic Id imagine, we did on the couple of forums we extended it on
-
If its just clearance you need then Stance Solutions do lift kits from £425
-
I think the last tie there was a J17 thread someone pointed out that no dealers actually search for dodgy cars to stick on their forecourt, and Sale of Goods is watertight these days ....... take someone who knows what they are looking at and you might be OK
-
Id be writing to Nissan UK and asking them if they consider this to be standard dealer behaviour - the cost is what it is, but repeatedly returning the car without anything having been fixed is not on. If a bunch of lads on a web forum know that its the slave cylinder its pretty scary that Nisan themselves dont.

Just stopped by to say the OPs username is possibly the best Ive seen. Respect to "The Trouser"
