When "chrome" rims are just chrome plated stainless steel? How does that work then?
-
Test drove one a couple years ago and was very impressed, remember saying that if I needed a family car Id be looking seriously at it. Faster than a 350, handled beautifully and surprisingly nice inside as well. Bit heavy and maybe a little sanitised for what it was but you could sort that out easily - I could quite happily live with a Blue one after a remap and prices arent going anywhere ............ Indeed, this is why an 09 FRS is still knocking on £23K and an 09 350Z is less than half that.

Sadly thats pretty much exactly what Id expect Yank interiors are always @*!# but I hoped this would have a bit of muscle about it but I think weight and laziness arent going to help

Some of the more obscure rims are a nightmare for this kind of thing, try finding new lips for them if you want a REAL challenge Im with JP on this one, you might well find that its easier just to buy a set of Rotas or S/H jap rims and maybe keep these as winters or alternatives. That said, if youre dead set on keeping them any decent refurb shop should be able to confirm that they are polished and Id imagine bring them back to life for about £60-70 per corner

RS Clio/Meg, Integra DC5, Abarth 595, Suzuki SS, S2000, VX220

Get it done. Agree on the FWD thing as well, while they can be great fun if you can pedal a bit you quite quickly reach the limit of what the car will do, it takes a lot longer in RWD. Apart from the MR2 (I have an N/A for track giggles and its wicked) an S2K is a damn fine shout, I wouldnt call an M3 high maintenance either (unless you start driving into solid things) -
What I really mean is that people are very quick to slag off the UK before considering the less attractive alternatives

I know someone who does a friend a "favour" by travelling out to their house and driving their cars once in a while as they are away a lot of the time. Sounds pretty mundane until you find out that the house is in Monaco and the cars are a Bentley SS Comvertible and a Vanquish.

They arent chrome, they are polished metal and they will be clearcoated so metal polish will have little or no effect. Pretty much anything will work (I use Autoglym Professional) but FFS dont leave it on for too long. For reference as well, true chrome rims are nigh on impossible to get refurbed, rather than wearing down the chrome coating actually flakes off and needs to be electroplated back on again. And to prove its not easy to tell, the fronts below are polished, the rears are chromed, can you see the difference?

What Fake said You have to bear in mind that car is running nearly twice standard power, so there will be more wear on clutches, gearboxes etc. but if the engine has been looked after theres no reason why it will go pop, its unfortunately the chance you take with modded cars. Search S14 and my name and theres a thread where Ive given some more general info It will be bloody fast though, my last one was around 400hp and was a handful to say the least ......

I ran 18s on the front and 19s on the back of mine, best of both worlds

We also have some of the lowest income tax, Corporation tax and National Insurance/Social Security rates of any developed country. Oh, and high standard free healthcare and schooling for everyone, a non corrupt legal system and apparently the 4th best standard of living in the EU, it aint all bad

Dont know if youve seen it but Jada Pinkett smith (wife of Will Smith) has made some comments about there being no black actors in the actor categories for the Oscars this year, apparently there wasnt any last year either. This is indeed the case and she has a right to point it out, but some of the language she has used is outrageous IMO - apparently non whites are a "dignified people" ....... and theres me thinking that we were all the same at the end of the day regardless of our skin colour. Theres also an awful lot of "us, we, them" in there, I thought we got past that @*!# 30 years ago? British actors have had a raw deal at the Oscars in the past but I dont remember us saying it was a consipiracy, and upon checking, in 80 years there have only been 52 non American actors win an Oscar, does that mean the whole world should boycott the awards too Jada? Also, what about Asians, Orientals and South Americans? Do they miss out because they dont have a famous actor spokesperson? Its supposed to be for the "best", so if we start artificially including black actors how does that work? Similarly, can we have some whites in the BET and MOBOs next year? Livid.

Anyone have any experience with these cars? F10 M5 or E63 BiTurbo?
docwra replied to djtimo's topic in Other Cars
The M5 is very fast, dont ask me how I know Apparently they all run well over stated power, they apparently see 600+ hp on the dyno. Standard. -
Ive got a 135i thats running about 430hp with M3 footwork, its a weapon but the diff is is terrible, its one of these e-diff things that decides when to lock and unlock all on its own which totally lets it down on track. Ive got an M3 diff to go on and I might do a bit of a slidey slidey day after that, its a bit nice to use regularly though. Fair play on the camber, that explains a lot - if youre only using half the tyre then heroics are probably best left in the locker, I can see once youve got it sorted youll be flying though. Show them what a 350Z can do
-
I drifted it once, had to be done.

So good to see someone actually putting a bit of time into a 350Z as a driftcar, toplad on making it look nice as well - too many E36 rustboxes about these days for my liking. No, its not a "missile", its a shitter. Watched your vid and youve definitely got the skills, only thing Id say would be push for a little more speed and a bit more aggression - try a bigger flick before entry, from watching your front wheels youve got more angle in the bank most of the time, try and use more of the track as well. Im guessing youre running a welder rather than a 2 way and I think its holding you back, at 0:31 and 0:43 with a 2 way you would have been hard on the throttle to get more angle, with a 3 way it looks like youre almost having to feather throttle to keep balance. I know its a lot of money but a Nismo GT Pro would give you sooooo much more control its unreal, you probably wouldnt have lost the manji either so would have saved on a paintjob Keep up the good work and keep posting vids man

Recomended discs/pads ? Mixed motoring, no tracks...
docwra replied to inspiral's topic in 350Z General
Current discs beginning to get the wobbles I'm afraid Sent from my XT1039 using Tapatalk Brake discs dont warp or wobble. Its either suspension bushes or deposits on the face of the disc which can be skimmed off. Seriously, Ive driven plenty cars with mega big brake packages and the standard brembos teamed up with high quality pads are up with anything, Im sure Ive had the back wheels off the ground -

Standard discs dont cost anything Id probably say DS2500 pads as well -
Interesting fact: thats Phil from Driftworks driving the XFR-S in the official TV ad

Sweet whip  Any reason you chose the Macca over 458, Murcielago, Aston etc.?
-
Supposedly better than the rest of the big 4 door crop (M3, C63, IS-F, M5 etc.), Ive driven a V8 XF-S and can believe it is too. Im still too young for a Jag though
-
Ive checked and its because we couldnt figure out how to do the shark teeth on the front of the Allied "aircraft"
-
Thats got to be name your price territory, have you thought about how long you will hold onto it for? It could easily be 100K+ in a few years ......

Bike engines have 18K rev limits and mad power skills due to short stroke engines, but this is to the detriment of low down torque which a big heavy car needs a lot more. Honda have been making reliable N/A 100hp/litre engines for ages, Im surprised more havent followed but imagine its going to be related to efficiency - high capacity to output ratio invariably means high rev limit as well.
