  1. Boob job you say? Anyway, moving on ....... my brother had an Evo8 running about 350hp and it was pretty awesome, lots of fun to drive and very responsive, Id have bought it off him myself if it wasnt for 3K miles service intervals, it wasnt great on fuel either but what is? The day I encountered a Lamborghini on the way to work in it was a memorable one, the Evo leaves people in no doubt as to your attitude to speed ......... I wouldnt go earlier than a 5 TBH, the higher the number the better the car in my experience. R33 Ive always seen as a bit of a poor relative to the other Skylines and its been reflected in the money, it wasnt long ago GTS-T's were tickling £2K which is a hell of a lot of car for the money. IMO they do feel a bit boatlike, but difficult to beat for big cheap power. GTR's are a bit different but are already creeping up and I think you might struggle to find one within budget. If I had £10K and it had to be Jap Id struggle to look past an FD RX7 or an S15 - both easily capable of 400hp, both great handling, great looking cars and both should hold their money as they are import only, the FD particularly will become a classic in a few years.
  2. Dude, put the rose tinted glasses back in the case, its an amazing car but the interior is nowhere near what it should be for the money the car costs and thats coming from someone who doesnt give a toss about interiors Ferrari - yes please, like the FF I bet iot looks much better in the metal too, gorgeous creations.
  3. Awesome D from both teams, shame the offences werent up to the challenge. Pleased to see Denver win but it could have been a better game, particularly after some of the playoffs Made it through until the end though and sill got to work today, at 1200 admittedly
  4. Just putting my ribs onto marinade, got wings to sort out as well. Been a fan since the early 80's when we used to listen to it on USAF radio. Similarly cant see past the Panthers, hope its a bit closer than last years game
  5. Not to mention the cash I sold a pair of secondhand Type C's for about £300 not that long ago, Ive seen sets of RG's for less than £500 as well. Just need to keep your eye out innit
  6. On the wheel subject - Rotas may not be forged but they arent much heavier than the 350Z Rays and they arent expensive either. Nearly everything Volk make are lighter and forged (CE28, RE30, aforementioned TE37) and there are some real featherweights out there too, SSR Type C and Type F, Advan RG and any of their racing series, Weds TC ......... theres a few options out there if you have the time and inclination
  7. And if the renter wasnt driving? He has to do the time despite not doing the crime? Or do you put them both in prison knowing that one is innocent?
  8. This particular one was about 1.5 seconds a lap faster than me round Donington, and I was going past Civic Cup cars ......... driven properly its a weapon, it was hassling everything out there
  9. As it happens a couple of mates are selling their track weapons, both have overtaken me at times, the Mini is very, very quick 260hp Mini Cooper S: http://www.pistonhea...=b#&gid=1&pid=6 Stripped Clio 172: https://www.facebook...496?pnref=story And if youre feeling brave, this thing is an animal: http://www.driftwork...51-1jz-s14.html
  10. You cant see the outside of the car when you are sitting in it
  11. Its the law and its going to have some holes as there isnt a "cover all" for every situation, the classic is two people admitting to the same crime - this instantly creates reasonable doubt and means its very difficult to convict. As Ekona says, if there is no definitive way of proving who was actually driving then theres a good possibility of an unfair conviction and as with another fundamental of our legal system its better that 10 guilty people go free than 1 innocent gets sent to prison. It does beg the question why I keep paying speeding tickets on the hire cars Ive had in Europe recently though
  12. I actually have one that Im considering selling atm, how much did you pay for it? Air suspension is awesome, smashing across fields at 50mph never gets old
  13. The V8? Not a lot, an induction kit alone is ££££'s as well, we all know about M3 exhaust prices too The S55 versions? They are MENTAL once mapped apparently Errrr ......... you do realise I actually own this car and did a blazing hot day at Rockingham last year? IIRC it got too hot on one run, this is with standard cooling and no oil cooler, the guy who had it before me did plenty of days including Nurburgring and Spa ......... The current M cars have a totally different engine, Id say thats fairly major. They also list at £55K which is a fair difference as well. And this is my point entirely, the total outlay for suspension, diff and remap, even buying everything brand new will be the right side of £3K. I spent more than that on an engine rebuild for my 200SX, without management, ancillaries or a clutch, never mind suspension and diff I refer you back to the last paragraph on my previous post - a 135i is not going to be a GTR beater on track, and wont come close to a slightly breathed on F82 M4 no matter what you do to it. However, I cant think of anything else that will get you this level of performance, comfort and particularly driving enjoyment for so little outlay - if youre looking at spending upwards of £20K on an E92 M3 then Id strongly advise taking a second look at the 1 and 2 series, they are more fun for less cost.
  14. And at least £20K less in your pocket. Apples and climbing frames. Because the m3 is better in my opinion out the box ....'where as a 1 isn't Out of the box yes, but if you buy a 135 for £13K, drive to Birds and chuck £3K at them you get nearly the same spec as my car, its hardly 6 months of modding and the car youre looking at is £11K more than that. The 1 with some bits thrown on it is the better car in every respect, apart from the brakes arent as good and the looks are subjective. All Im saying is try one as a comparison to the M3, ideally with suspension done and Im sure youll see where Im coming from. I find it difficult to see why people look past them, they are practical, economical, bloody fast and proper fun to drive. They miss an LSD badly but the 8 speed box is a dream, and all for the same money as a Golf GTI (which is also bloody good TBF) ......... Id probably have gone for a M235i if I didnt buy the 1er
  15. Mine is exactly that mate, new downpipes, hi flow cats/exhaust mid section and a remap, and those are the figures. Hybrid turbo(s) will see 600hp apparently, injectors will see well beyond that and this is all without opening the engine, the beauties of a forged bottom end as standard Mine is the N54 twin turbo BTW, the gains are not so big on the later N55 but good numbers for bugger all cash are still achievable. And it cost less than £17K with all of this done, sweet rims, M3 footwork and a few fancy pants carbon bits. I would like to state for the record at this point that I am not saying my car is better or worse than a GTR, just I cant see why anyone would buy an E92 M3 instead
  16. Straightlining? Yes I am, at least an 07 model anyway, the previous owner claims to know for sure as well GTR: 478hp and 434lb/ft at 3200rpm, 1730KG 135: 430hp and 560 lb/ft at 3200rpm, 1485KG Yet to find out on track as Im blighted with this shittiest diff known to man but I dont think there would be a lot in it, mainly due to the weight difference.
  17. Everyone is entitled to an opinion ......... but youre wrong, totally wrong. A standard 135i is a capable car, but this particular one with most of an M3 chassis and the same performance as a 997 turbo still blows me away every day after 15 months of ownership. Its better and more fun than my 350 ever was round the twisties, and that was a weapon itself, and returns up 10mpg more and has a decent boot, 4 seats and doesnt attract every chav in a 20 mile radius. I would honestly have a hard time swapping it for anything this side of £45K, its really that good - I could have picked up an M6 but I like corners too much, see also M5 and M3. Its the only car I remember owning (other than the Integrales ) that I still look forward to driving months after I bought it. And if my 1er isnt enough the 1M is one of the best cars for sheer smile factor Ive driven in my life and I still crick my neck when one drives past, theres still a big part of me tempted to go buy one just ....... because. An M6 is a GT car so I dont really know why they are being brought into a comparison like this, but a breathed on 135i is as fast as anything BMW have ever produced in a straight line and with a few slight suspension mods as quick as anything round corners too, its hardly poverty spec. BTW, your "best small saloon car to start with" shares the same suspension, gearbox, clutch, CANBUS system and a load of other stuff with an E82 1 series but carries about 180KG more, hows that "better"? ETA: All of this said, I am first and foremost a driver - I dont car what a car looks like or what it costs if it makes me want to drive it. If youre a bit more image conscious then maybe youre right ....... but you did buy a Nissan at some point so it cant be that bad Whats the best for me is not going to be the best for someone else but to write off a car that will give a GTR a run for its money as "the bottom of the ladder" and not "special" is madness.
  18. TG isnt actually a racetrack though, realistically Nordschleife is just a series of big straights with a few corners in between as well. Some other examples though: Anglesey Z34 105.2, FRS 106.4, Z33 107.1 Magny Cours club Z34 127.04, FRS 1.28.06, Z33 1.30.9 (w) Sachsenring FRS 143.46, Z34 143.53
  19. Your wish and all that And of course if you have a few more quid ......... Whats wrong with an M6? Big, heavy, thirsty are three good words, my 1er is running a bit over 100 lb/ft more torque 3500rpm lower down the range as well It all comes back to the old "what do you want from a car" question - if youre looking for an exceptional fast cruiser and dont care about fuel bills then an M6 is a great choice but if like me you find the E9* M3 a bit lrdy thats not a path youre going to heading down
  20. Fair enough, mine doesn't look entirely standard tbf. I also forgot the other bit... 30+mpg
  21. Not a single person has called mine anything other than an M3 since I bought it
  22. Ive driven a lot of whats mentioned on this thread and theres a reason certain cars get mentioned a lot The R32, R33 and R34 are all old now, if youre collecting then great but if you want to drive then its a no. The big execs IMO go XFR, IS-F, M3, C63 in that order but they are all big, heavy and thirsty, and if youre spending over £30K on a hot hatch youre quite mad IMO 911's are an acquired taste, Ive been warned off of Vantages, M5/M6 are just too big and too thirsty and Im still not sold on the yank stuff, no matter how cheap it looks from brand new. Which leaves the Evora, the Maser, the 981 Cayman S and the GTR, all magnificent cars but the Cayman gets the vote from me, its just so beautifully balanced while still being refined, I loves it. But (and who didnt expect this one to come) ....... having had the same choice a while ago I couldnt look past a 135i (or M135i, or M235i, or 1M), they are smaller and lighter than the M3, even standard arguably faster due to more accessible torque but when modded are proper rockets and most E92 M3 stuff bolts on to make handling very similar. There is very little that the M3 has over the E8* other than the badge on the back ........
  23. Funnily enough I drove a 370 around the same time and IIRC thought the Focus was probably the better car, if you were happy to live with the FWD. Considerably better than the ST of the same era anyway
  24. +1, wouldnt mind taking a glance over it myself ..........
