Exactly. COG makes a lot of difference in two cars weighing the same but unless your COG is about 10 ft underground its not going to make 500KG of difference. Massive brakes and regen braking arent needed on anything else, that tells its own story.

Coldel knows it And how much do you think the million odd grey haired Brits in Spain cost their medical system? Or the godknows how many drunken bastards that go there "on holiday" solely to try and get alcohol poisoning? Its reckoned our net profit from EU immigrants is anywhere between £2bn and £5bn a year, and now Dave the Alien has negotiated new terms on in work and out of work benefits for immigrants that will be even more. As with many things, this is likely to be decided by whichever red top paper shouts loud enough, and sadly not people who run European businesses and actually understand this stuff. Like me.

No it doesnt, a 2000KG car will never handle or stop as well as a 1500KG car.

No doubt youve seen many videos of people crashing on trackdays too, but that doesnt mean it happens regularly

Achilles 123 are getting good reviews and are cheaps too I think

And lost how much in depreciation? Does this include the cost of charging as well? Is it per vehicle or over a fleet? I dont think anyone is saying that EVs will not become popular in the future, but what does seem obvious is that EV fans are happy to overlook the shortcomings where ICE drivers arent. What do I do if I dont want a brand new car? What do I do if I like to own my cars outright and not on finance? And how many people who buy cars on finance get 200K miles before banging them on? What (as is actually the case) if there are no public charge points near me and I cant park outside my house? I drive 100+ miles each way at least once a week as well, what do I do then? This sums it up beautifully for me: Sorry, but how is carrying a can of fuel or getting yourself to the nearest petrol station the same as waiting for the RAC to turn up?
-
NS2R also very good in the wet, not holding out a lot of hope for that tread pattern in this case though

Sorry, how is it no result when people who actually use them have repeatedly recommended the RC5+, RS29 and PF01's and said that DS2500's arent as good but are cheaper?? Page 1: I wouldnt usually big up a trader but every time Ive spoken to Ewen about pads (4 different cars now I think!) his advice has been spot on, even down to the Brembos I picked up being very similar to the DS2500 that he didnt have in stock. If you want to spend money then Carbon Lorraines are the best Ive used on anything and would be fine for the road, if you wnat to save some money then DS2500/Brembo would be fine. I dont like EBC, at all - dusty, not particularly good bite and not cheap for what they are either. ETA: CL's > RS29's, Ive got both on two different cars at the moment

Which garage have you taken it to? If its the bottom end thats bust dropping the sump off (in fact just draining the oil) should be enough to see, did you not have the oil pump replaced when you went forged though? If the bores are foobed then youve been unlucky but Id imagine youll need a crank or a regrind if its spun shells, its not worth taking the risk of it going pop again. As for what would I do to replace ......... Im assuming you are going to keep the car when youve spent as much time and money on it as you have. Id probably go for another VQ as a fair amount of parts might be salvageable but if not but I wouldnt put an RB26 in, its a lot of cost in fabrication and stuff and they arent the strongest engines in the world, LSx is going to be the way to go IMO. Out of interest what management are you running and does it not cut ignition when oil pressure drops?

See my previous post: "It costs a shitload more too, this is usually a pretty fair comparator "

RC5+ are the best Ive used, you wont be disappointed with the PF01's either though. Ive just ordered up some Carbotech XP10's for my 135 as I cant get RC5+ for it, will update once they are on but expecting good things

No doubt youll take this personally and its not meant that way (I dont think Jetpilot is being "difficult" either) but if the only difference you could identify between a 370 and an M3 was "its a bit quicker" then that probably explains why you rate the two quite closely. Even in 20 minutes of driving its clear the cars are quite different, and while the 370 isnt bad car by any means theres a reason people rave on about M cars. For example the 370 has a 7 speed auto box ........ but its not dual clutch and is painfully slow when compared to what VW were doing over 5 years ago, never mind the BMW version. The traction control system just cuts power to the wheels (which can be as dangerous as not having it at all IMO) where the BMW is far more gradual and intelligent, it also has 3 settings on it and the stability control is noticeably better as well. This is before you get onto less quantifiable stuff like grip, feedback and throttle response, all of which I found considerably better on the M3.

Anyone who thinks the Muystang and Focus will depreciate about the same is somewhat deluded IMO, you only have to look at the FRS 1 and 2 prices to see that. You knwo its going to be bloody quick, easily remappable and relatively cheap to run, difficult to find a better performance family wagon when taking the non existent depreciation into account IMO.

Marshalls had a very early Jap Import in last year for £28K IIRC.

What price should buyers be paying for a 2004/2005 60-100k miles
docwra replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in 350Z General
Miles seem to be the thing that pushes prices up, I struggled to sell mine at what I thought was pretty reasonable money because it had done close to 100K, similarly very low mileage cars attract a premium. If youre saving £2K then I dont see it as a big problem if the clutch goes, it will need replacing eventually anyway. For me an 04 with 100K miles should be around the £5K mark, with 50K probably closer to £6500 -
Yep, I have the 1er and I also didnt think the 370 was a great leap over the 350 when I drove it. Fair play, a Stillen 370 is going to be quick, possibly as quick as the bimmer in a straight line but the quality of the interior, the feedback from the chassis, the gearbox (DCT or manual) and for me the accuracy of the steering and the grip available are all better on the M3. It costs a shitload more too, this is usually a pretty fair comparator
-
Was your mate trying to sell you another 370 at the time? Nice whip BB, I do like them in white I have to say. Any plans for more noise/brakes/carbon?
-
Actually youll find we are the only people that call is a 350 Zed, its a Zee in all of Europe, US, Australia - call it a Zed and they just look at you a bit confused.
-
It was more the bleeding great supercharger sat on top of the engine that did it, but fair comment
-
Can I stick one in for all members, and if so whats the fastest you have ever driven on the road in the UK?
-
Ford GT actually, but close
-
Its too cheap, and the engine is too standard IMO. And a quick google shows that Motorhub is the new name of the dreaded Keighley Trade Centre, probably the least reliable garage in the UK. Also think it was a Spec S to start with rather than a Spec R and its still too cheap. WALK AWAY.
-
So not standard then. Standard R34's look a bit aids:

Apart from the one my bro blew within 2 hours of buying the car :o We think it was running 95 RON and detted itself to death, fortunately a dealer sale so they took it back. Anyway, if you want a JZ Silvia do not look past this one: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/228151-1jz-s14.html The guy is one of my best mates and I know there has been no time or expense spared, it is an absolute animal. Hes saying £7500 atm, I could get it for less ...........
